Pah! self control! (lol) that's always been a strong point of mine...... I kinda think that's one of the reasons we play games though isn't it? To try to break them a little? Me and my friends were having this conversation the other day actually, in terms of the psychological aspect of playing an RPG and grinding to be "overpowered" and why we feel the pull to do so..... It's probably got something to do with being unloved as children (lol) (y)

With regards to Kingdom Hearts, it partly depends how much time you have as the peripheral games aren't as well made in my opinion... KH 1 and 2 are great games but the plot for the whole series is an absolute convoluted mess due to them having to tie into both Disney and Square Enix properties. To answer your FF question, I have played every game in the series but like you (by the sounds of it!) have struggled with the more recent entries. I'll emit the online games as they are very much a different thing altogether FF10 was great - cool music, good plot (apart from the whole "I'm a dream thing"), terrible voice acting though (that laugh! 😬) FF12 is very much a marmite final fantasy. I really liked it and the world / characters are really well realised but lots of people were put off by the almost MMO nature of the battle system and the micromanagement within the gambit system wasn't a big hit with everyone FF13 is my least beloved of the recent entries. The characters just did not resonate with me and I struggled with the whole "run down a corridor for 15 hours before being able to free roam" thing FF15 to my surprise, I actually really enjoyed (lol) I thought the four main characters were interesting and I like the fact that they did a little anime series to introduce each back story. The CGI movie they did for FF15 was a bit naff but it did a good job of introducing the world and the game just kind of assumes that you've watched it for some reason! All of the game systems are slick, the exploration is fun and battling is pretty good but the main issue the game had is its convoluted development which led to the plot being a bit of a mess.... Things sometimes aren't fully explained to the player and some of the "big story events" just fall abit flat... It feels like the developers had to abandon some bits part way through due to square enix essentially pressurising them into keeping the (already slipped by literal years!) release window. Man I should work for IGN 😄

The best final fantasy.

I can't decide which was my personal favorite between 7 and 8, they are definitely my favorite ones. 7 was the first one I played so I'll always have fond memories of it, but 8 just seemed so much cooler when I was a kid. I really enjoyed the junctioning system too, but it was so easy to become overpowered (100 death spells junctioned to status attack) Also abusing the limit break trick, pressing triangle repeatedly until you got one. I really enjoyed 9 as well though, I think that had some of the best mini games. I loved "Chocobo hot or cold" and the card game from 8 made a return (it's been awhile though, I can't actually remember if they improved it or made it worse, lol) I'd definitely recommend giving it a go if you never played it. While it may not overtake 8 as your new favorite, I'm sure you'll still really enjoy it.

But they'd both require a bit of self-control to not use... Actually, I don't know what the mods/cheats are on the re-releases... Makes sense to have though given it won't be the majorities first time through the games.

Is this a good Final Fantasy game? I played 7 through when younger and I think 8 but not much recently.

Excellent news, thinking about it I believe I had hairworks turned on (and that ruins the FPS on the Witcher 3 for me) so I may give it a bash at this price and see how I get on. Thanks for the replies both ( @CAL23 )

I played through it with a 6600k and a 1070. Everything maxed out at 1080p 60fps & HDR. Had to turn off one of the Nvidia gameworks settings ( cant remember which one ) but it ran great from beginning to end.

It's the most complete edition at the moment. There's meant to be more content coming.

I bought it a bit after launch. I only have it on a HDD and the load time is awful. About 2 or 3 minutes.

Enjoyed the fishing in FFXV. Will have a little look at this for this price. Nice find (y) 🏻🔥

Here is the review:

Is this literally a fishing game? Seems a waste of the final fantasy licence doesn’t it??

25RRP is insane when the royal edition isn’t much more

Yeah, such an odd release. As already stated had it been for the Switch, or for me, the Vita, then I'd have been tempted. Very odd. Unless it's really dumbed down for the really younger audience.

Yeah, sorry - I meant if the post was for Switch.

In case you didn't know this is also coming to the Switch. But I do agree it is pointless releasing this on the PS4 and XB1.

Wow haven't played an FF title since X/X-2. Awesome franchise however

Is this the 'complete' edition?

Finished the story in 43 hours but there is soooooo much more to do it's ridiculous. This price is just insane for a game that offers as much as this does. I wasn't sure at 1st as I'm an old school FF player but once I accepted the change its probably my 2nd favourite FF after FF9.

Yeah, it's totally unrelated to any of the other games.

I haven't played any of the final fantasy games prior to this one. Can new players still enjoy jumping in this late in the game series?

Where was there news involved? I am not an accredited journalist. It is technically tax evasion, as I said highly unlikely to be caught, but it is morally wrong. the biggest actual issue is time- saving a tenner if it takes more than 20min isn’t worth my time. Also while Microsoft likely won’t ban you the COULD, you are breaking TOS and that loses your account- again unlikely but it is a risk/reward discussion It is lovely you want to take on that risk for a small saving, doesn’t mean others have too- it doesn’t make them stupid or unintelligent, just different. I don’t really understand why you are so offended by people having differing opinions to your own, maybe you should reflect on your life as to why this is so important to you and maybe find something else in your life to spend your energy on

'illegal' (skeptical)

What fake news would that be

It was more of a rhetorical question tbh.

Than save people money on a money saving site? Or challenge somebody who is spreading fake news?

I think I’ll be getting Dirt Rally VR if I take to my PSVR when it arrives on Friday. I have it on my X, great game, but I reckon in VR it will be on another level. I’d imagine you can use the DS4 as a “steering wheel”?

Anyone recommend any games (3rd person <Red dead> open world <horizon zero dawn> simple/OCD <lego> etc)

It has me too. But I've not minded. Dipped in and out got absorbed in all the mini games amd stuff. You could probably complete it in 20-30hrs if you just focus on campaign. I've done all the sun stories, the real estate royale, the sunshine clubs. Just got absorbed by it. If you went for 100% completion you'd be looking at about 170-200hrs.

Anyone any thoughts on Ghostbusters as a local coop game?

Apparently FFXV will be receiving an update to support RTX features (presumably shadow improvements).

Same here. All the extra content is accessed through codes and buying this package is cheaper than buying the season pass and royal pack separately (even if you already have the game). It's just how much will the second season pass cost on top of this compared to waiting to buy the Ultimate Edition that may appear next year?

I think this is the version to get, the royal edition is the best way to play the game. Not sure about any complete edition, this includes all the current story and other DLC.
