George Foreman Grill - 5 piece - £30 @ Amazon
Posted 21 h, 27 m agoPosted 21 h, 27 m ago
After years of service I have manged to kill my old George Foreman, this looks like a good priced replacement. Well reviewed.

Wouldn't recommend the detachable one. I've had it a few years and the plates are harder and harder to get off after each use and the black comes off on your hands even after all these years.

The blurb on Amazon says heating plates are attached.

£30 for me

Why is this listed at £34.49? I’m getting £30.

Anyone know if this is the detachable one which is easier to clean?

Butane £38 for me Edit: Scratch that, £41! Not worth me buying a regulator to save £1 each time. Wish I could get cheaper gas (lol) (lol)

Nice one. Thanks @welshlady78

Blimey, I run my BBQ on Butane and a 13KG refill costs £25 from a local hardware store.

Does this have a side burner? How does this compare to similar priced ones at Argos with a side burner?

No worries. Flogas tends to be cheaper than Calor though I believe, different retailers sell different brands but I believe most Flogas users just get it from Flogas direct on website. I can't see price of the 11kg as out of stock, but 6kg is 29.35 + 30.62 for the bottle.

George Foreman 22460 electric indoor or outdoor barbecue grill 2400W for £89.99 delivered @ Robert Dyas

Funny little thing, and I know a lot of you will say it isn't a barbecue without charcoal, but this is a super easy to use. No gas, no smoke apart from the food, and wipe clean. Se… Read more

Has anyone had delivery of this yet? Order placed 4 July, promised delivery on 13 July. No contact from them whatsoever. No customer service whatsoever. I have been patiently waiting for this for my kids birthday party later this week. The reviews on Trustpilot and the complaints on Robert Dyas's Twitter account are deeply disturbing. If I'd have known that the reputation of this company was so awful I would never have placed an order. I wished someone would have taken a minute to warn me before departing with my money. (annoyed)

Excellent price/availability - not now sadly Out Of Stock :-(

I have this. I bought it for £70. The hotplate there's a ring where the main heat coil is where all the food burns if not careful. and just off this ring there's barely any heat. So after about 10 uses there's a dark ring on the hotplate where the actual "cooking" was done. It may be convenient, but it was annoying to cook on that we just gave up on it and got a charcoal BBQ. not worth £90 at all.

They are all just outside grills. Charcoal, gas or electric. A barbecue in the purest sense is a big fire pit with grates above it.

Outdoor electric hotplate... Where on earth does the word "barbecue" come into this, Other than it having a round lid?

I have this after my old one which was 15 years old needed replacing. It is thinner and has good cable management, however, no variable temperature means its great for searing steaks, cooking bacon etc, but it burns anything frozen. Wish it had a thermostat, basically will only cook fresh/defrosted without burning.

Thanks for posting @Nicky_Cairns and a belated welcome to hotukdeals; heat added

Pretty much! I have 4 kids so better for a big family! There is a 5 portion on here for a good price too but I personally need the bigger grill 👌

I agree! That's how I do it with mine. Damp kitchen towels placed in between the plates while the grill is still warm, close the grill and after a while the kitchen towels absorbs most of the stuff left on it. Then wipe it further a bit. Looks like new!

Yes, that’s what the instructions say...... unfortunately the fact that you still have mess to clean and you can’t take the plates off still means it’s a faff

Already tried that #stickstofood #ripsandmakesabiggemess #fatallovertheplace #getremoveableplates (y)

These have been this price for a while now, as I got it from Lidl back in March fro the same price. Agree with comments above, clean it while its warm and its a doddle. Even if its been left and gone cold, just switch it on for 30 seconds to heat up slightly and it makes cleaning so much easier.

Surprised it's not been suggested yet. After you have removed your food and turned the grill off, simply lay some wet paper towels across the plates, close the lid and go enjoy your food. When you come back they will have absorbed a lot of the mess, and the stream they generate will have helped loosen the rest. You can then just wipe away any remaining bits easily.

I got the 5 portions one. Trying the 7 portions model now - will update you soon

I've got the 7 portion version. We use it almost daily and can't recommend it highly enough. Only issue it does not heat up evenly so you have to move food around during grilling

I would not buy one with removable plates, cleaning is quick and easy as is, not sure what the fuss is all about. I've had mine for years, use regularly, plates look as good as new.

Good secondary use as a sandwich toaster (I kid you not, mine has been in regular weekly use for... most of a decade in this role). Considering how much use mine has got... I have to say... it's genuinely done VERY well. Not much to go wrong I guess but it's still kicking, no issues, no major cosmetic fails ages(7+ years) after I bought it.

baby wipes are the best thing to use, when its still just warm

I got same one for £20 from Argos on offer and same version with removable plates for £29 ASDA you’re right it has been so much cheaper in past

I used to do this but it takes the coating off thus I had to purchase second - bought the removable plates

This is going to get lockdown hot, particular when Amazon suggests it's worth £99 However tfftc Average price is £39 and it's been as low as £26 You're literally saving £1 from the typical price.

I don't agree, I've used my fixed plate grill for years, non-stick remains intact. The trick is to clean whilst plates still warm - I put wet kitchen roll on first, after grill has been off for a couple of minutes, then really easy to clean, as above.

Going for this one. The other one seems to be longer but smaller in depth. Also this seems to have more useful area to use.

£35 new to Amazon 1st July 2019. £38 new to Amazon 21st June 2016.

Get bigger ones folks, they smaller in cooking space especially if you have few people to cater.

One trick is to wipe down/clean straight away don't let it dry. Also heating it again before cleaning helps but it's not as good as cleaning straight away.

Cheapest price for a grill with removable plates. These are so much better than the fixed plate grills.

Ive had this a few years and it's not all its cracked up to be. The plates are nearly impossible to get off the bottom now with regular cleaning and all the black from the plates comes off of your hands even after washing.

Would have been a deal if it had an adjustable thermostat.

Nothing special about the price.

Would be a bargain if it wasn't for the price :|

Mine arrived today, looks brand new with all the original packaging undamaged and bubble wraps ect. The only thing is the warrenty booklet has been scored out and a leaflet for warrenty to be dealt with through them and it says free returns postage. I would definetly order from them again.

How are you cleaning it? I find it's quite easy to do. I wait until the unit has cooled to touch, then place two dampened kitchen towels on the plates, and leave for a few minutes. The grease is now easy to lift/ wipe clean, then another dampened towel to finish off. Voilà! Only takes a few minutes at most. This method was passed on to me by a seasoned* grill girl. *Sorry 🤭 😁

Might help to mention it's electric. I had visions of people burning charcoal in their kitchens and expiring from carbon monoxide poisoning. I note on their outside picture they're using a special invisible mains lead and extension.

Police will come and knock it over

Had one of these for years, and they're great. the stand is sturdy enough, and it's an effective bbq for occasions when you don't want to wait but fancy cooking and eating outside. I don't think i paid anywhere near this price when i got mine though.

If it's just a griddle pan on a stand why not just use your oven top?? Seems pointless?

If you want the BBQ taste .. when the food is cooked - heat up a bit of charcoal on the hob place it on some foil add a drop of cooking oil place in BBQ, cover and leave for a couple of minutes.

I have one of these use it in the caravan awning also great for cooking pizza.

Really wouldn't bother with these unless they have removable plates as they're a PITA to clean. Recently replaced a foreman with a Tefal optigrill thing, cooks steak perfectly, nice and easy to clean.

about cleaning really don’t like

same... we bought ours years ago the 10 portions for £30 and after using while it's a bit hot I clean it otherwise when it's cold it's hard to get the grease of the plates. Hubby constantly looking for a deal for removable plates, but they are way too expensive for just making it removable (ninja)

add £2 and you can get the 10 portions (or is it 7 ;) )
