I was so tempted to buy this then I remembered, no bluray player. No disk readers at all for some years now :(
All Ghost in the Shell Discounts, Offers and Sale - October 2018
aaaand its gone. guessing its now fully sold out
Thanks for informing me, really helpful :)
pretty much yeah, they are available to buy as they recently released those 3 movies individually. normally about £5-£7 each. Ghost in the shell:Arise is the sequel series to continue later on from Solid State Society, then there is "ghost in the Shell: The New Movie" which caps off Ghost in the Shell: Arise. that series comes in a part 1 and 2 in one set then 3 and 4 in the other
So I can enjoy the series on its own and then watch Solid State Series after? SSS is al I would need for the experience beyond the 8-Disc set?
I saw this in IMAX 3D and it was an experience! I couldn't now watch it at home. It's the same with The Revenant, it's a film you need to see on the biggest screen possible to get the true experience.
No. I think you are imagining something. It's something common with film buffs. Go watch a movie or something and think about what you did. (popcorn)
You did miss something, you made a sarcastic comment about what I said that went against my opinion.
I didnt say that at all....It was you who said: "Naw, I consider myself a film buff, I watch anime and 'regular' films, it's just a very average film. I've seen both. The anime, is far superior in terms of content, story telling and, it's just beautiful..." Dismissing something.
So I'm not allowed an opinion? We just all go off what you say? Think about what you just said, made yourself look a bit silly there didn't you.
I'm quite fussy, and lose interest easy, but I seen this in the cinema and thought it was a decent film.
I suppose if you've never seen the manga, and think fast'n'furious is good, then yes you may like this film.
Of a naff film :|
Thanks, good photos. Looks like it's sold out now anyway, so that'll save me from myself 😞
Sorry for delay - here you go. Hope it helps.
Any chance of you posting some photos of the real thing? Zavvi's shabbily mocked up images aren't helping sell it to me.
I got mine yesterday, so the 'release date'. Looks beautiful:) Hope you got yours as well!
I'm actually not in the UK at the moment so I sent it to a relative. I hope it arrives when someone is home or I'm just quietly going to cry if it gets lost.
Uh...No it's not.
Worth 1 watch yep.
Its pretty, but nondescript. A big-budget, fairly brainless sci-fi blockbuster with no real connection to GITS other than a couple of set-pieces borrowed as window dressing. And Batou.
Was going to catch this in the cinema, big fan of the anime. Is it worth a watch?
Fair price for a poor film.
You also get the iTunes code with this to redeem in 4k UHD if you have the Apple 4k tv box.
Agreed there. It went from "what does it mean to be human?" To "what does it mean to be a mistreated teenager who forgot about being in love?". Certainly a pretty and colourful film though so worth a buy for that. Pacific rim was a good movie on the same grounds.
If you're not some sort of purist anime otaku, you should have a decent time.
Good film. Awesome 3D!
I would pay this much money to have my memory of the film wiped
Says the person with the attention span of a gnat.
basic film for basic minded people...obviously
Amazing movie wasn't stupid enough to turn it off after 40mins.
This is all getting expensive - there is no way of buying a movie that comes with 4K (£20-£25), 3D (£7-£15) and a Google Play digital copy (£9.99-£13.99). To get the full experience on my favourite movies, I now need to spend between £36.99 and £53.99.
Reviews of the BluRay have better ratings for the 3D (the CinemaBlend link was for the cinema release)
If you’ve got three/Wuntu app, you get 350 rakuten points
not in my name etc,
if you like dystopian visions try searching Hyper reality on vimeo
Free via Wuntu points :-)
Heat added. Thanks. Rakuten’s offering here is only 2.0 stereo but it’s great for the money (especially for free using Three’s Wuntu offer).
Scenes are recreated but story is different. I'd say anime is better overall. Live action changed character backgrounds and has a different villain.
I haven't watched the new one but it is supposed to be all based on this anime version
Is this the same story as the live action?
You can get part 1 & 2 for £8.99 https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B01N2IQAWQ/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_awdb_hKIIzbPMHAWHP
mine didn't track too
panic over its reappeared?
Mine didn't track and RackutenTV has gone on Topcashback.
Mine didn't track also, just put a claim in
You should email TopCashBack to see if there is an issue with your account.
I'm a fan of the games but Ass Creed is a bit pony. Much like the games, fantastic action but boring modern day sections and uninteresting story.
Lucky for me I only have 720i eyes, saves me a fortune!
Looks like this is a price match of a one day iTunes offer so may be today only. Available to all though, not just Prime members.
Just to add another film on the £1.99 list that is really good: The Founder is up at this price. Michael Keaton is great in this.
Great effects, film was ok but as per usual (when Hollywood gets the green light to make something like this) it's so separated from the Anime that if it wasn't for the characters and the title it could easily be mistaken as a poorly executed rehash (imo)

tickets left only for today - 10, 12 and 2pm. it doesn't make clear whether or not a screening of the movie is included.
Because that wasn't in the title originally.
How can the title be misleading when it's got 'Exhibition' in the title?
More likely is that Manga fans seeing 'new edition' in the title are being led into thinking it is the new Scarlett Johansson version and voting cold because an Asian martial artist actor should have been playing the lead.
Probably not many people into Manga or Anime on here and voting cold.
This seems to be getting a lot of cold votes - can anyone point me to a cheaper offer?
Now £19.99. Expired.

Err... okay then...
Hope the live version turns out better than Resident Evil, even though I like RE.
You're right of course, all films with trailers that look good are probably going to be terrible.
The trailers for Johnny Mnemonic looked good...
I don't know, the latest trailer looked pretty good I thought. It's definitely going to be its own thing, and I think we have to try and judge it separately from the existing movies and TV series (even the original manga).
I think this new release is the original version, so without the cg and other tweaks that made up the 2.0 version. They released the original cut on blu ray as the 25th-anniversary edition but that was only released in the US on region A. The thing about the 25th-anniversary edition is that it has messed up audio and lacks the 5.1 Japanese mix from the dvd from what I can remember. This is probably the same disc with the same issues and although falling short of what GITS deserves it'll probably be the best blu ray version we can get here in Region B countries.
Cheaper over at Zoom. £8.10 with SIGNUP10 As far as i know this is just a cash grab rerelease at near on double the price of the previous version. Just different cover nothing else. https://www.zoom.co.uk/product/ghost_in_the_shell_blu_ray?
I honestly feel that GitS deserves a proper MMO, not saying this one is bad though, might be worth a try at this price. It's great visually, at least.
I thought this game was going to be free to play? Unless its just pay to play it while it is in early access
I really like this have put about 70 hours into it and I don't normally like online fps games
I remember ps one ghost in the shell where u a robot bug that climbs walls that game was epic when me and my bro were kids. Have to get on emulator
Played it a few weeks ago and thought it was bang average. Unless they have updated it?
Yes its the US version of Netflix. I use UnblockUS which is very easy to setup and switch between any Netflix region in the world. One good thing now is that they seem to have unified the "My List" so if you add stuff to your list and it's available in multiple regions it shows up no matter which version you are using
Thanks for the information comingback and vig1lante. I can confirm that both Ghost in the Shell: Arise are English dubs with no subtitles. I watched the original 1st and 2nd GIGs like this and enjoyed them. I do, however, prefer all the Studio Ghibli films in original Japanese with subs, so I can see where you are coming from.
Is this through a VPN?
Just a heads up, not sure about Ghost in the Shell, but I assume it's the same. I bought Attack on Titan the other day for £4.99, hoping to get at least the subtitled version, and maybe the dubbed as well. I didn't. You only get the dubbed version. The description on the product page made no mention at all about subbed or dubbed, so I asked the Chat service which it was, and they weren't able to tell me. Their advice was to buy it and see, and if it wasn't what I wanted, I could get a refund. So I did, and ended up getting a refund. I imagine it's the same for most animes that have a dubbed version. I think Amazon tends to just include the dubbed, rather than subbed/both. So if, like me, you don't like dubbed versions, probably best to avoid this. But voted hot all the same, 'cause it's a great deal if you're happy with the dub.
£0 on Netflix (not voted)
