Juvela is the BEST gf bread, can't understand why this is cold.

japes

Usually use in the toaster but have taken the whole loaf out and left for a day to defrost. Doesn't seem to go soggy but it's only my 3yr old who needs it so we don't use too much. And agree with other posts ... GF bread is not nice! Always seems over sweet

amzzzzyyyy

How do you defrost? Just take 1 slice out and can it only be used in toaste or also eaten fresg:/ never tried frozen bread does it go soggy

scotty2

Good to see another option for GF bread. Hopefully competition will bring prices down.

japes

You'll often find the GF bread in the reduced section. We buy what we can and put in the freezer.

It's always this price?? My two little ones are milk and gluten intolerant and we bought one of these last week whilst we were on holiday and it's actually not that bad!

Michaelgell91

My daughter has 2 allergies; dairy and egg. They are different allergies

d70cw6

Why is that turd smiling at me?

ebble

If I was allergic to gluten I'd go without cake rather than inflict a gluten free one on everyone else.

gaz9000

To be fair, gluten free stuff gets a hard time and it used to be awful. It gets better all the time though and the sweeter items like cakes are pretty close. Pasta is ok. Bread varies...the pricier well known brands cant touch tesco own loaf for me. Thanks to OP for posting

But this isn't an "ice lolly" regardless of the Asda description. It's an "ice cream stick" alternative. My little one would love these.

Thanks! Although if it's an ice lolly and not a choc ice then of course it'll be df and gf! I think lots of manufacturers would charge more for ice cubes if they could - df, gf, everything free!

OOO thank you i will give this a go x :)

Matzi2000

I prefer to make my own.

Matzi2000

Get your meat juices and add 2 oxos I break mine up before I open (flat side up with a cup) add to meat juices until it desolves and no lumps. 2tsp cornflour or 4 depending how many I'm making it for with 3 or 6tsp of water (usely veggie water) again depending on how much I'm making. In a small mixing bowl, whisk (I use a fork) the cornflour and water together to form a paste.Pour the juices into a large saucepan and bring to the boil. Add the cornflour mixture to the boiling stock and carefully stir until dissolved and simmer for around 3 min then it's ready to add to your meal. You can make loads and freeze too xx

jaceyar

Who buys gravy? It's so easy to make yourself and use cornflour to thicken.

Is this gluten free? Can't see anything on their website. If it's GF then Iceland deal is better...if not it's not really a comparison.. .You can get 500g spaghetti in Tesco/Asda etc for 20p which contains gluten, which would be a better deal than Iceland x

Tomorrow’s deal is 40% off mains and £1 double gins. Today’s is kids eat for £1 and you can have a double gin for every main course you buy - just have the gin will all be clear then :D

tamboss

so basically come back yesterday and we we will tell you tomorrows deal..

emribena

Ok this is quite complicated! You can use the £1 gin voucher with the £1 kids meal and the £1 gin with the 40% off mains but not the 40% mains and £1 kids together and you can’t use the 40% today only tomorrow but you can use the kids today - clear as mud?! Basically you can’t use £1 kids and 40% together no but I think if 2 adults went the 40% off mains saving would be greater than the £1 kids. Here’s all the t’s and c’s anyway

ashmac

Cam the adults use 40% off main And kids have £1 to eat ???? Can you use both at once

LocalLocalFound 20th JulFound 20th Jul
Great price for this beer. On clearance at Tesco Farnworth. Could be national so worth checking if you are into the Gluten free fad and going to Tesco anyway
graham_key

Gluten free here, but be careful as this particular brand upsets my system almost as much as the regular varieties. Other barley - containing gluten free beers are OK for me though. I subsequently read an article online stating that a number of celiac/GF consumers have problems with this one.

ijw0161

Correct I meant no malice by it. Just some people follow the diet for no reason

samspud

Shame? I don't think it was personal. Many are of course gluten intolerant - but at the same time many who aren't just follow it for no conceivable benefit to them

Longfellow

Good spot OP lovely beer

ijw0161

Yep. Appreciate some people must follow a gf diet, just saying a hell of a lot of people are doing it as a fad.

Bogami

I think the key here is "when compared to". Everything has to be in moderation when you're a diabetic. We have a Type 1 in the household. Simply assuming that sugars from fruit does not raise your glucose level is naive to say the least. Why do you think fruit juices and smoothies are now classified as junk food even when made fresh?

NewtonUser

This is not supported by diabetes.org.uk, who say the following: "The concern has been that because fruits contain sugar, it makes your blood glucose go up. In fact, most fruits have low to medium glycaemic index, so they do not lead to a sharp rise in your blood glucose levels compared to other carbohydrate containing foods like white or wholemeal bread."

Bogami

Afraid that there's no such thing as an offset if you are diabetic. Glucose is glucose no matter what the source is. Talk to any Type 1s. The next meal depends on the measurement of the blood glucose level just before the meal. You cannot offset the measurement with fibre or vitamins ;-) The measurement also tells one how much insulin to inject.

NewtonUser

My point was never about weight gain, and if you are equating something being "unhealthy" with being related to whether or not they can help you lose weight then we are not talking about the same thing. I don't personally eat these bars, but the original post was questioning how they can be a healthy snack, since they have "an awful lot of sugar in them". Most fruit has 'an awful lot of sugar' in, and are clearly healthy snacks. A fruit as a whole food contains fibre and other nutrients which offset the bad effects of the sugar. I would be interested to here your take on the diabetes.org.uk article I posted above, as well as this: https://nutritionfacts.org/2016/08/09/what-about-all-the-sugar-in-fruit/ I get the impression we are both getting rather bored with this discussion however (lol)

sonofgojira

The issue is that there really is no healthy sugar. Sugar is the worst thing you can really have because its the hardest to work off, Vitamins from fruit are great, but your also getting the negatives from the sugar. Don't get me wrong if you have fruit as a balanced diet and are active, its not a problem. If your struggling to lose weight, then its not going to help you. Your better off eating protien bars which only have 1-3 grams of sugar as a snack. But each to there own, i wouldn't touch these. Id rather buy and eat that banana.
