The sub-woofer on mine collects flies. The wiring feels messy whatever I do and the small speakers have needed re-gluing twice. That said, great sound and a bargain at this price.

My ones are still sounding good, just that the sticks come apart really easily. Nothing a bit of clear tape can't fix though.

Listening to mine now. Great system. Bought them for the same price last time there was an ebay code on.

Got these from Harman Kardon for just £60 with £40 off code back in December 2015. This is therefore not the best deal from them that they've done. Edit: let me add that they sound fantastic though, so if this is the cheapest you can find or you really want them then go for it.

I got them cheaper for £78 directly from Harman about a year ago. Was a special Xmas deal. They sound amazing.

These are ok for the price. Often found between £79.99 and £99.99. Sometimes more, sometimes less. Its good value but they look better than they sound.

Me never did seen price cheaperer excepter when dodgy amazon seller post his ad

When the OP stated "I never seen this price for that item." I thought they meant that low of a price, not that exact price ;)

I have the aura plus, I think this is the same speaker. They are excellent, people said too much bass but you can control all that with the HK app, my only fault is that I have my connected to an echo dot and it starts to stutter after a week or so connected so needs to be turned off and turned back on which fixes the problem. Only a minor issue though really. I’m no audiophile but I think the sound quality is excellent, better than the Bose speakers I have, it’s strange because it doesn’t feel like the sound is coming from just one place which is excellent

You need to set it to 'Through the Fire and Flames' bruh.

I imagine 7.1 like this should be ok. Generally speaking a lot of amps / av receivers have a mic for adjusting the balance of the speakers. Does anyone have these setup yet? We're moving home so mine are all still in the box. Can't wait to hear them though.

Since Im now waiting for an amp (Mine dosnt have outputs for the sub) Can a normal pair of floor standing speakers be used as the front 2 speakers. This way I would have 7.1 or would it be weird having a sup and large front speakers?

Congratulations your our lucky winner just print off place on box happy days she will never know lol, mine was not happy even when I showed her the retail price

Mines arrived safely too. How do I set them up without the missus noticing?

Haha, ordered two as going to use two, separate orders and only got the extra tenner off the first order. I thought even that may have been pushing my luck, surprised they honoured both orders.

Great Speaker at a great price £100 less than Amazon

Perhaps put that info in the OP as well as RRP in the title. Looks like a good deal to me if anyone's looking to buy this.

https://www.harmankardon.co.uk/HKAURAPLUSWHTEU.html? £349 https://www.sotel.de/en/Handyzubehoer/Externes-Zubehoer/Hifi-Audio/Harman-Kardon-Aura-LED-Plus-Wireless-speaker-white.html? £294 so £199 is massive discount :)

Wouldn't call it massive.

The custom fees are included as well when you buy from amazon US - these are baked into the cost and are shown seperatley at checkout (Amazon are unusual in this respect as most sellers will not include them and they you hope things don't get stuck). I have bought quite a large number of things from amazon US and never had any other charges added other than those shown at checkout. i agree about the warranty (although many items have global warranties these days if its from a major company) - certainly would be more of a pain to send things back if they were unsuitable. Most electrical items will work in different territories and you can often swap out power cables for larger devices unless they are hard wired.

Sorry i was talking about customs fees. If you buy from US custom can hold your stock until you pay fees so in total can cost you more then in the UK. Also consider warranty. If you buy stock from outside EU you dont have warranty and then you have to send stock back to US and that cost fortune. And also US plug but this is minor issue. If you still prefer to buy from US i dont have more arguments.

Amazon include the tax - all tax and shipping was included in the price i quoted. i went through to checkout and confirmed before posting £195 is the full cost. you cant buy anything from amazon US without them adding the tax at checkout.

and very often you have to pay tax which seller not mentioning.

I bought the refurb for 199 on eBay and it was like new when it arrived, brilliant speaker!

Can't work out if I like or not

Ahh good to hear, it would be for music only to be honest. There’s a definite market for decent computer speakers, I’ve also looked at the Bose Companion 50, although not the biggest fan of their sound signature. Funnily enough I went for the PX and I’ve really fallen for B&W sound, I’ve currently got Monitor Audio for the home cinema, and when the time comes to change them, I’ll most likely go with B&W then too :)

Not too bad at all. Certainly good enough that I never miss any lower bass from the HKs. I suppose that if you were using them as a kind of cinema speaker setup you might want the separate sub but I use them for general computer use, music mostly (for which they are amazing) and youtube videos etc. I do watch TV/films with them as well though and find them great for this too. It is surprising how good the sound is given their size. I quite like the sound of B&W stuff though so might be slightly biased, I already have a Zeppelin and some P5s :) although did forgo the PX's recently in favour of some Bose QC35 ii instead.

Thanks for the reply chap, I’ve heard very good reviews about them, but I’ve never heard them, how do they handle the lower frequencies? They’re obviously not going to have the grunt of a sub, but are they able to handle the lower end?

Seems like a good deal!

You crack on then lad

These speakers look great and sound incredible, I've had mine going on 10 years now, still going strong and still sounding fantastic.

Have had my SoundSticks III for over 5 years and they're still in daily use and sound awesome IMO. I've pretty much pushed them to the max quite regularly by using them as monitors on my Mac when my active pre-amp bass guitar is hooked up to it, and they haven't missed a beat. Would by HK speakers again if/when these finally give up the ghost.

You talk some serious crap. Go suck your undersized donkeys Wang!

Very informative post and you're quite right about some of the rubbish reductions AW offer but, as mentioned, keep an eye out if interested as every so often there can be major reductions on price. However, despite amazon stating 30 day returns, they do offer up to 2 year returns if a product becomes faulty. I know this since I returned a 15 month old Surface tablet late last year which could not be repaired and was fully refunded by Amazon. I have also returned the odd item within a year (from warehouse) without any issue at all from Amazon chat once mentioning the issue I was experiencing. Only slight issue was I had to organise my own delivery to their warehouse to be sure it was fully insured for the Surface but this was also fully refunded once I uploaded proof of posting to them. Hope it helps someone.

Whilst it may be the case that there are deals sometimes to be had on Amazon Warehouse in terms of product cost, I do have two huge reservations about buying anything from them. The first is a real biggie and it's this: "Due to the unique nature of each Amazon Warehouse Deals item, we unfortunately will be unable to replace any item. Please note that used products are not covered by the original manufacturer's warranty. If a product becomes defective after 30 days you won't be able to return it using our online return centre. You may wish to visit the manufacturer's website or contact them directly as they may be able to offer troubleshooting and support with the issue you have with the product." So in your case you have a brand new laptop for a good price but you effectively have a guaranteed warranty of 30 days. Any issue after that time and you will be reliant on the good graces of Amazon or Dell to aid you. I would hold out more hope that Amazon will do something for you but, for my part, if I were laying out the thick end of a grand on some electronic item such as a laptop (and I soon will be) I'd want more than a months warranty on it. If I were buying a non-new Dell (and I won't be doing so anytime soon having dealt with them recently and found them to be dreadful) then I would go via their outlet because they provide a 12 month warranty on what they sell. The other issue I have with the Warehouse "deals" is that many of them are far from it. Current real-life example? Sure. ASUS ROG Strix GL702VM-GC182T, brand new, 2yrs manufacturers warranty, £1,282.16. Warehouse "deal" price for exactly the same item? £1,230.87 (lol) Really, Amazon? Gee, thanks. Fifty two quid - a gnat's over 4% - off in exchange for twenty three months warranty? In my book that's absolutely taking the f in p. Let's take another example. ASUS GL502VM-FY172T 15.6-inch Full HD Gaming Laptop (Titanium). New price, £1,349.97. Warehouse price, £1,229.43. £120, or about 9% off. Sounds better, doesn't it? But look closer. That's less than 10% off a used item in this instance, not an open or mere damaged box return. There's another you can have for 40 quid more which is "As new", but that will cost another £40, so the reduction is now down to £80, or 6% and the sacrifice of 23 months warranty. And that, quite frankly, is just garbage. That's thirteen hundred quid items being discounted by single figure percentages - some ridiculously with low single figures to boot - and being sold with less warranty than a lot of established Ebay and Amazon third party sellers are offering. Good luck with your XPS, I hope it gives you years of trouble free use but I caution the unwary about Warehouse for the above reasons. Also they seem to be offloading 6th gen processor machines in the guise of bargains. Maybe they are but do your research before buying one, assuming you fancy the warranty lottery. (skeptical)

Would that not be a plastic pig though? I think the Zenbook is a metal premium model, a bit like a MacBook? Could be wrong.

That is sooooo expensive. How possible is that people voted heat!! you can buy a 8th gen i7 with same spec or even better.

Keep an eye on Amazon warehouse guys. I managed to snag an XPS 13 with 8th Gen i7 processor (8gb, 256gb, fhd model) for 830 the other week - was brand new with seals intact. Amazing laptop too. Do keep an eye out as they become available every few weeks if interested.

I bought these for my girlfriend and I got a bit disappointed. The bluetooth is so unreliable that I had to buy a Google audio cast to stream via wifi. Also, the bass sound is not balanced with mids and highs. There is way too much bass in this thing. It might be ok for hip hop and rnb but not for other styles.

Absolutely stonking speakers, lovely warm sound, far closer to a vintage hi-fi sound than Bose manage. Got Alexa plugged into it, works a treat.

These are real quality. Visually and got great range. Had mine a couple of years and would definitely recommend. Only thing is took me a while to find the volume controls on one of the minis but the overall product design is beautiful hence the Guggenheim permanent showing.

So having just been to Currys to have a browse my heart was on the oled b7 but the q led sat next to it for 1299 looks so more vibrant ? Decisions !!

Not missing the point, but I have an LG OLED that's a year older than this range and haven't seen a single problem. I came to OLED from a Panasonic Viera plasma which I loved due to black levels but the OLED is way better. I used to get some image retention on the Plasma - like seeing a DOG or similar for a few minutes after changing channel, or stopping gaming - but have never seen anything on the OLED and viewing hours are longer now due to two growing kids using it more in the day time. I never saw screen burn on either my Plasma or my OLED, but I did see "demo" TVs with some screen burn. Not the case with OLED, never seen a fault in person.

Paid £2100 for this TV last year! It's a stunning TV.

You are missing the point. People are experiencing issues from day to day use, not just the extreme tests they are running in the 1st link. The 2nd run of tests will be the most useful as it features six C7's running day to day tests. Some people paid £2500+ for the B/C6 and after a year of normal usage they have issues. Most not aware that it is the tech itself that makes screen burn an issue. There are ways to reduce the chance of it ever happening which is what a lot of these people would have liked to have known before they made the purchase. I understand why LG would never want to make a big song and dance about a guide which lessens the chance of screen burn, as it could hit sales. I recommended the B7 to my mate after he saw it in Curry's for £1350 just before xmas, I got a bit of info from him as to his daily usage, he wanted the best gaming TV. He only games 3-5 hours at a time. I explained everything I learned from OLED research, pros and cons from various sources and let him make the final decision. I sold him my Panasonic UT-50 plasma 2 years ago for £100 when I went 4k. It's still running perfectly after 6-7 years but when I went the plasma route you bet I researched the hell out of the model and the plasma tech itself before making the purchase. I miss the blacks of my plasma, was the first thing I noticed when I switched on my new TV. So you can imagine I would so love to get on board the OLED train but my gaming usage at times makes it an expensive gamble.

Worth pointing out though, kudos to the guys doing these tests - even if they are utterly unrealistic. They show quite clearly that the non-OLED screens have very uneven brightness on day one. Dark, corners on most of the images and totally awful. Would you want a screen that might have screen burn one day, if you abuse it? Or one that is rubbish on day one?

JBL Pure Bass sound 11-hour battery life Call and music controls on earcup Flat-foldable, lightweight and comfortable Bluetooth 4.0

Yes, because around/over ears are usually significantly more expensive that on ears. Then you want bluetooth too. No way will you find that from a decent brand at this price point. Which is what I have been saying again and again. You will not find good quality/decent around ears at anywhere near this price. Now, how hard is that to understand? And have you noticed how not one single person has responded to your post with any suggestions? Additionally I have said above that these JBL ones are quite tight on the head and have no padding on the head band. How does that translate to decent? They are serviceable and ok for short stretches of use. Any longer and they are quite uncomfortable on the head. Now, if you consider that to be decent, then clearly your standards for a decent headphone are way below mine. Anyway I give up. Try to help and you get people trying to bite your head off. (annoyed)

Well, we are on a thread with JBL bluetooth on-ear headphones, which get decent enough reviews at £25 delivered.... I want more or less the same quality for the same price but over ear....not 4 times the price... Is it that hard to understand?

Sorry, I really dont understand. The AKG I linked are not audiophile or studio quality at all. Just decent cans that reproduce music decently. Audiophile for me would be something like this. Bose do have decent build quality, but their sound signature is artificially biased to cause an instant "wow" effect. So usually an extended high and enhanced low end. Not what I would call decent as it is tampering with the actual music. But is suits a lot of people just like the Beats headphones do. I suspect by decent you mean something that transmits sound and doesnt break down in a few days? You would probably have to look at some of the Chinese products on Ebay or Amazon for an around ears at this price point. Or second hand perhaps? I cannot think of anything at this price point that would even be close to decent.
