You could always still use this with a couple of powerline adapters? This is how I made them work in other rooms usually with better broadband performance than I would get over WiFi too!

Other than the Now TV Smart box which isn't really anywhere near as good you don't get any other options that would do the job other than subscription based offerings like a Sky Q Mini box, or a Virgin Tivo V6 Box

UI for Now TV isn't as good. And they really try to push you into using their services. Last time I looked at the smart box it didn't even have a proper TV Guide for Freeview!

Hmm... I don't have an outside aerial, I see a problem with this

TV Player is the app that will let you watch Freeview channels over the internet. It's on quite a few devices, including Apple TV, Roku Boxes/Sticks and Amazon Fire TV.

Roku is probably the best option though as they have support for a lot more services than the others.
Mrswitch3 h, 58 m ago

Maybe I should invest in an outside aerial!

Ye u get good cheap aerials in screwfix around £17 a couple of pound for a bit co-ax and as long as u have a drill put it up yourself or get a friend to do it NEVER use a company to do it as u just get ripped off

Nope. Should be all out by close of business tonight. That's when I plan to expire it anyways. Quite a few will be taken towards online orders that have already been placed. Just leaving it up a bit longer as somebody may be lucky enough to grab one instore while out and about this afternoon
Tj1453 s ago

Will expire this deal once the instore stock is depleted.

Just as FYI, the 55UJ670V is £579 at both John Lewis and Richer Sounds, which has brighter screen, 4 HDMI ports, slimmer set and a silver chassis (if that’s your thing). 5yr warranty at JL, 6yr at RS.

Well the Panasonic has no USB, is only HD, no freeview play, weighs a ton, only 2 HDMI, not smart TV and emits enough heat to warm the lounge, so it must be an upgrade of sorts.

I bought this TV -43” for £249 just after xmas. I liked the TV for the price. Easy to install, operate and web os is bit faster and stable. Watched Netflix 4K movies - looks great. But I do agree the TV has considerable depth and you have edit HDR mode to make it bit bright.

I got one hoping I could turn it into an IP camera using my home wifi but …I got one hoping I could turn it into an IP camera using my home wifi but I can't, does anyone know if it's possible?Works ok as a dashcam with an SD card as long as it is plugged in as the battery is about 90 minutes otherwise, also has time lapse videoI used the data Sim in my wifi hotspot instead of in the camera instead, bargain at £14

This camera is it's own hotspot. You connect your phone to the camera via WiFi. As such, you can't connect it to your local WiFi. That's by design as they want the external data connection to be made from their SIM - not your router. There's profit in their SIM cards, but not in your own router.
Brilliant little camera. It's survived 2 weeks thus far being dropped/ thrown and rolled down a large slide. Not a single mark and continues to work.
Configure it for time lapse and put in your 16/32 GB SD card. It's much quicker transfer speeds if using a USB SD card reader on your computer.
Great find. Ordered. Thanks OP

It's like you didn't actually even read my post before replying to it, …It's like you didn't actually even read my post before replying to it, because I addressed this very thing. In fact, it was pretty much the only thing I addressed. Image processing has a huge impact on picture quality, regardless of whether the panel is the same or not. For instance, LG's own OLEDs are currently completely hamstrung in their HDR game mode on more recent firmware revisions due to LG's boneheaded choice to sacrifice huge amounts of brightness to preserve detail (which would be fine if it were optional and you could also choose the previous behaviour of balancing brightness and clipping, but you can't).Sony's A1 is considered the best entirely because their processing is better than anybody else's, especially in terms of motion handling. Of course, any OLED is still going to retain the base strengths of the technology such as perfect black levels, but beyond that they can and do look very different from each other.

Yet the LG wins in every single test out there - go figure eh?

Anyone know if this will play Football Manager?

Yep. I play it on it and it's fine.
Bought this last night for my daughter to use for school work; initial impressions are good. Nice bright colours on screen, good sound and reasonably quick. Obviously isn't going to cope with dozens of apps and games at the same time, but this is good for everyday use.
I got this including the trade in a few weeks back.
no it doesn’t have an Apple sticker on it and it probably can’t play the newest games, but it’s nippy enough for what I need, iPad does most of my daily needs and these days I’ve no need for massive memory as I don’t download much any more

Hi,

Thanks op, bought one of these yesterday, used code FREE200 and got free next day delivery.

Its now sat on my desk and I am very happy with it. I have moved from a 22inch IPS 1920 X 1080 so obviously quite a difference and a bit of a wow factor.

Menus are a bit of a faff but you soon get the idea.

Overall if you are looking for a decent 27 inch screen then I would certainly consider this if you don't have £600 to spend on a G-sync 120+mhz one.

Unless you have a tin ear the speakers are completely pointless, but having audio does mean they decided to give it a line-in and line-out. Got my pc plugged into displayport, ps4 into the hdmi, then connected the line-out to a line-in on my pc to use my proper pc speakers.Just a heads up though, there have been issues on models with early firmware, using the displayport might be hit and miss at best, depending on your gpu. I had problems briefly with a gtx 970. Couldn't tell you what firmware version this model uses, mind. I got the GW2765HT from Amazon warehouse for £180 with the black friday 20% off.And for those who aren't as tedious and with as much spare time as me, this is probably the best quality 27" 1440p monitor posted so far. Very functional, good refresh rates, fantastic contrast. The colour gamut is very wide. It has 100% sRGB. Very useful colour temperature settings, but pick between using the eye strain settings here or on windows 10 or with flux. With none of the monitor options turned on I found it a bit too bright though. Great stand, full tilt and swivel, although on a small desk you'll wish the stand wasn't so deep so you could push it back further. At this price you can't complain that it's only 60hz. High frame rate high resolution ips panels didn't even exist until the last few years. I'd much rather this than another of those ebay korean monstrosities, the one I used to own broke when the cheap soldering melted and shorted out the circuit board. On a side note, make sure it's set to full range rgb (0-255) in the settings if you want it to look the nicest as a monitor.

"ebay korean monstrosities, the one I used to own broke when the cheap soldering melted and shorted out the circuit board". Agreed. I had the same issue. I had two, one second hand that is still going strong and a brand new that has already has the board replaced then broke again, hence giving up and doing hours of research to now buy this one. Although the Crossovers do are brilliant monitors (well, amazing panels but crappy cheap boards) I have learnt our lesson as getting replacement parts is a nightmare (plus expensive with import taxes). The hubby said I should pop the broken Crossover on ebay this weekend and I may do, as they do have a good following, and there maybe someone out there who can fix it themselves as its too heartbreaking to just bin it. But I am on day 2 now with this monitor and I am very, very impressed.

I bought that very monitor (AOC) for my brother in-law at the weekend for £78 from Amazon warehouse.

Seemed like it might have been a mistaken price match reduction, as Amazon's price has always been significantly higher.

Can't review the monitor as I've only had a few moments with it, but I will say that I wouldn't touch that Chinese seller.
They're shipping from China, so import fees are possible, their reviews are bad, and they're undercutting every seller on Amazon.

On top of that its got a 75hz so that allows for 15 more fps to be displayed if youve got the hardware to back it up. My only concerned with the AOC is that its being sold by a 3rd party seller. If you do order it keep an eye out for blemishes or anything that doesnt feel right.

I am an engineer maybe not in TVs but I know how things work. During the euro football these screens was used and nearly all binned due to failures. Was a massive container full going to scrap. I manage to make 1 out of all the parts and found that the light strip burnt out and stopped the whole thing working. Light strips these days not the cheapest or easiest to get your hands on. Repair requires stripping down the whole tv which takes lot of time, hours if never don't it before.

I have some space part for mine so not very much worried as I can always replace the led strip. Iv changed it twice so far in my screen which makes it a serious fault these models

These are great TVs but as a caution to all that have this screens insure it as it will be peace of mind knowing it's not scrap when it's dead.
I'm not trying to say not to get it just be cautious
Might see if I can sell my 58" quickly

Iv seen plenty of the 650b and 750b in the dx ranges all suffer from 1 blink light error which is that one of the strips of cheap led lights has failed. So just adding my word of caution to all who have any in this range just be sure to insure.
