My head is actually bigger than a potato :/

Do these helmets come in Purple

Shame I have a huge head, I'm a 63 :(

I have this already and it's a nice fit. The headband adjuster makes up quite for small heads I usually wear a large so plenty big enough too. Only black at the discount price

Halo Master Chief Helmet Speaker - £39.99 + delivery @ Zavvi
Found 14th MayFound 14th May
For all you Halo fans out there, this speaker is a near life size replica of Master Chief's helmet. "Standing a foot tall, this Master Chief helmet Bluetooth speaker is colossal. … Read more

I didn't say I'm unhappy. For the most part mine will sit unused on top of my record rack and will be dusted occasionally. It'll be turned on to let my Halo-mad nephew see and hear it. Maybe when my bro brings his 2 lunatics over for a visit. But as you say, more than likely that they were rejects which never should've left the factory. Even the instruction booklet is a mess. See if you can guess what's wrong with this diagram:

So many issues and not a single completely happy punter to be seen, one can't help but ponder the notion that this is why they were going so cheap (skeptical)

They could be haha, I even offered to buy a replacement charger directly from them but they haven't responded since 🤷 found a multi voltage adapter lying around that does 9V 1A, just tried it and it works fine. Will take twice as long to charge but at least it isn't dangerous! For me the buttons work almost as they should but not quite. If I tap pause once the lights flash but nothing happens, it takes 4-6 taps in quick succession before it'll eventually pause. My volume/track change button work opposite to how the instructions say they should as well (the tapping/holding actions are swapped out on the volume/track buttons). Not a huge deal for me, I'll take it for the huge saving! I wonder if they were rejects or something similar that Zavvi got a hold of and that's why AC Worldwide blew me off when I got in touch? The £9.49 one looks perfect, one of those jacks is bound to fit the speaker. Cheers!

£2.59 delivered from China. £9.49 delivered in the UK.

Mine arrived today. Sound is brilliant, but not as loud as I thought it would be. The touch controls don't work as advertised either. Bass up/down and trackback and play/pause don't do anything. Tapping the bluetooth button reduces the volume, tapping the M button increases it. Holding the bluetooth button (eventually) skips to the next track, while holding the next track button goes back to the beginning of the current track. And its these "foibles" which probably explain the dramatic cut in price. It looks exceedingly good though. ACW Halo Masterchief Bluetooth Speaker pairing...

Giro Cinder Road Helmet Was £99.99 Save £55 (55%) Now £44.99 @ Tweeks Cycles
Found 13th MayFound 13th May
The Giro Cinder is a slightly cheaper version of Giro’s excellent Synthe cycling helmet, but just because it’s cheaper doesn’t mean it’s no good. In fact, Cycling Weekly say the Ci… Read more

The MIPS technology is meant to provide some protection against rotational injuries, although it seems more theoretical than science driven/proven so far. That's not to say it isn't beneficial, and I'd rather have it than not have it.

Is MIPS really all it's made out to be?

Was gonna say I just paid around £80 for this a few weeks ago from Wiggle - then noticed it's the non MIPS versions.

I really wanted to like this helmet, but it's nothing like the Synthe. I have a well endowed head and this helmet makes me look like a massive mushroom, whereas the synthe is a lot more slender, and more comfortable. The synthe is far too expensive so I settled on a Kask Mojito instead.

Not quite - the non-MIPS Cinder does have an RRP of £99.99, the MIPS £124.99. But yes, like Dekard97 says, the MIPS version is probably the better deal as you can get it for £67.50 at Merlin: https://www.merlincycles.com/giro-cinder-mips-road-bike-helmet-special-offer-110233.html

Ironically, a TT helmet is actually more aero lol!

I can't get more aero than a bald head😁

<sigh>, I'm sure you'd do just fine with a bobble hat

The marketing teams did good job on you:-)

Of course. Aero TT helmets are less well ventilated & so not great for long rides. MTB helmets have huge visors to keep branches out of your face but not very aero for a Time Trial. Use the right tools for the job in hand. :)

Hello, professional cyclist here. All helmets are made to the same standard and have to pass the same tests. More expensive helmets are usually lighter so use less materials. Anyway, if you crash your bike, would you rather have something on your head or not? It's as simple as that for me. PS. "I think you will find professional cyclists don't wear £20 helmets"; the helmet in question is that of a professional cycling team in the UK - Holdsworth Pro Cycling.

So, first you say helmets are useless for road cyclists, then you're agreeing that helmets aren't useless for road cyclists?
I don't have time for a physics lesson but if a helmet cracks it has done sod all. It only works if it *compresses* and absorbs some of the energy. Otherwise you might as well have a dinner plate on your head. I think you will find professional cyclists don't wear £20 helmets, and that their helmets are expensive because they are designed for the speeds they do.
Rather a cracked in half helmet than a cracked in half skull... I wonder why professional cyclists wear helmets?

You think a piece of polystryene will protect you from anything likely to indent our skull at 20mph? Luckily plenty of room on your ambulance for a useless cracked in half helmet.

Yes, but I looked at those 2 bikes as well and the price was £300ish, resale far higher but wiggles was near half that price and the same weight as the 2 you mentioned.

Agreed, plus decent resale value too, also to consider are islabikes and frog bikes.

She’s making sure the police aren’t chasing her after she’s just stolen that bike.

Problem is they sell a 14" frozen bike for £99.99 that is £49.99 instore at Costco

Them bikes will all weigh a ton, would suggest spending more on a vitus from wiggle, light as anything and reasonable price. Their twenty four has 29% off now so £169.

For £24.99 think it's worth it for at least a couple years use - https://helmets.org/replace.htm

Manufacturers recommend replacing helmet after a certain amount of years, a money spinner yes but also safety for degradation of materials. Whether the clock starts from manufacture date or purchase I’m not sure, but with a 2016 helmet that clock is ticking :/
