These were my second (the first was Creative and CX300 were a big improvement in sound quality) ear canal headphones and introduced me to Sennheiser 8 years ago. They lasted for years and made me buy IE80 and some others. I could easily recommend quite a lot of Sennheiser gear for their sound quality and build quality.

Had Pioneer tuner and amp then, first hi-fi was Amstrad reciever then Rotel 802, those were the days.
This appears to be a cracking deal. Spec mentions an HT mode so might also appeal to those wanting to add to and improve their existing av set ups. You could get away with keeping your 1040.
You only need hdcp 2.2 for 4K sources. You could keep your 1040 and get a 4K Bluray player which has a second hdmi. First hdmi goes to your TV for 4K video and the 2nd HDMI to your 1040 for audio. All your other 1080p sources will still go through your 1040. As for Sky, use the Sky box’s digital out.

The Denon does everything the Sony can do, has 2 extra HDMI inputs and includes Audyssey MultEQ XT which gives it the edge on sound quality compared to DCAC EX on the Sony. Been using one for a couple of weeks now. Great for £30 and has a (hefty) premium feel out of the box.
I’ve been using it with an iPhone only so can’t comment on its compatibility with Android. It’s been solid over Bluetooth and Airplay, picks up my iPhone 6S immediately after switching on. Can’t comment on WiFi (yet..)
Sound quality seems to have improved slightly after a bit of use. Might be my old ears but I remember this use to happen with decent hifi kit. Best at just over medium volume, quite punchy and big sounding.
Some of the threads question if it’s stereo or not: it’s 2.1. Single woofer for the low stuff and stereo tweeters apparently. The physical distance between them means it’s not the last word in stereo separation though.
I like it: bought a second one for the house and a few for presents.

Its big brother the LP-5 is also a fantastic deal at the moment, £260 if using the RS 'best price guarantee' as Superfi are also advertising it at £265. Mine should be here before Christmas.
I would go for a Pro-Ject and a discrete photo stage, as they offer a (limited) upgrade path that this doesnt; but it is hard to beat this for the combination of sound quality and user friendliness.

One quibble, "Accessories" are optional extras, none of these meet that description, other than (perhaps), the lid; it is a bit like a car dealer advertising the engine, wheels and tyres as accessories.
Brilliant turntable, wouldn’t hesitate to recommend. Just wish it was this price when I bought it!

The idea for the connect is for those who have Sonos and also have a nice expensive existing stereo system. So lets say you have a £2k sound system in your main living room but want to have it as part of your whole house Sonos system.

That is what it's for specifically and the Connect and Connect Amp, originally called ZonePlayers were the original systems from Sonos.

Connect is to connect to an existing system, connect amp is for just connecting to speakers.

I need a Connect to go into my Denon system but they do seem a tad expensive to me compared to a Play 5 for example so I've never bothered. I would if I had a mega existing expensive system though.

I have these headphones - I purchased at the beginning of the year from a UK supplier for a few quid more.

A couple of things to note:
The "adjustable earhook" isn't memory wire like other more expensive earphones, it's just the cable wrapped with a stiffer rubber sleeve. So the back of the cables tend to "float" behind the ears which takes a little getting used to. I find I need to apply a little tension to the cable to stop it annoying me.
The "noise cancelling" is obviously "noise isolating" and due to the large driver chamber they absorb and leak noise more than comparable in-ear phones.

Having said that they are cheap, sound good, and have to date survived a year of abuse without issue.

Can you turn of the flashing on speaker

Yes, you can change the lighting settings on the SongPal app and can turn the lights on and off with a hardware button by holding down the bass boost button for a few seconds.

Edit: On closer inspection it's slightly different from my SRS-XB40 and this particular speaker uses the "Party Chain" button as hardware switch for the lights.

RMS is usually at 0.1% THD, and PMPO typically is at 10% THD; 1% would make your ears bleed and 10% would blow the speaker cones due to the heat build up from clipping.

Another one that you dont hear much of these days is "Music Power", which is typically the maximum postive sinewave output at the same THD as the RMS rating.

Essentially it can produce a loud noise for a very brief time with a certain amount of distortion..... before the thing blew up I suspect.I think something like 10 to 15watts per channel RMS is probably a much more realistic figure.

FYI, RMS is the power output across the speaker range, and not the amount of output from adding up all the speaker, so that TOTAL POWER is a big red flag.

I am guessing whoever writes this tat doesnt know what RMS stands for, or how it is calculated.

It certainly looks like the usual manufacturers bull plop but they state RMS rather than peak (I still don't believe the hype)

On Panasonic's site it states:
Power Output (TOTAL POWER) RMS 300W *1

notes:
*1 RMS30% Power Output

So I guess they've run a test where the equipment has been shown to produce a momentary maximum of 300 watts (combined from both speakers) at a given frequency for a given fraction of a second. Essentially it can produce a loud noise for a very brief time with a certain amount of distortion..... before the thing blew up I suspect.

I think something like 10 to 15watts per channel RMS is probably a much more realistic figure.

Built like a tank... until they go up in flames like mine did. Literally. How old are they now? 25 - 30 years old? Great amp, but you have to move on sometime.

Lowest recent price for this...been looking for a decent system for kids - only downside is there's no AUX socket but does have USB and DAB Radio.
£77 now.

I guess their thinking is that it'll mostly be used to stream from Bluetooth devices, which generally already have headphone sockets.

A bit of a pity if one wishes to listen to DAB/FM or CD on headphones, though.
My parents have this after downgrading from a more fancy one. Sound quality not as good but good enough for those who can’t tell the difference and it’s easy to use
Been looking at this for a while. Was £83 in Currys i think, Streams from Bluetooth too. If only it had some quick access Radio preset buttons I'd be all over this for the kitchen
You have to out them on that tray, it's a bit of a snug fit though some some force maybe required
