Agreed. HSBC are so slow its unresl. I wasn’t automatically accepted had to send wages etc... But first world problems. For me I can get my gas fire and get £25 off so its a no brainer You would be better getting a credt builder card to start you off

I applied for one of these cards online on the 19th September. I still have not received it over 1 month later. I phoned HSBC who told me I'd been accepted, and that the card would be sent shortly. So if you do apply, you may be waiting some time for your card.

Thank you for your answer and time responding. I only spend what I can afford to be honest, but I've never had a credit card (only debit cards) and I wanted to build credit score, so I'm trying to get my first credit card.

If you’re not in a position to pay it off, yes most certainly. Of course, it’s always advisable to only spend what you can afford, but 0% credit cards can be a nice way of spreading the cost of a larger ticket item without the initial out lay. And if you already have the money for the item, by spreading the costs and putting it into an account that earns interest, is another way of maximising the pennies. Worth noting in this card, that if you’re transferring a balance to this card, there’s a 2.89% fee.

Sea Gamer wouldn't take my Paypal so I paid the little extra for 300 HKD at Play Asia, which went through fine. Got the codes and redeemed them on the Microsoft HK store, no problem. No VPN or changing addresses.

Strange....not sure if it makes a difference but check/change the location on the console and then login/retry on the website.

Yep I’ve changed my region to Hong Kong on the website as suggested, it shows as being in HK after the edit on my profile. However when I go to redeem the code, it appears to load my profile back up and then says it’ll redeem to my email address with UK in brackets. I guess I’ll wait until my Xbox arrives and try setting the region there. Edit: It seems it’s finally picked up my change of region now!

As mentioned above, you need to change your region to Hong Kong. Either on Xbox or on website. Website: go to your account -> your info -> edit country /region.

Not working for me. I’ve bought a 300 code from Offgamers but when I try to redeem the code it says it’s for another region and to take the code back to the store despite me trying to redeem on the HK game page, it still always detects that I’m in the UK. I’ve also changed my region on the website to Hong Kong, still says it’ll be redeemed to the UK.

I did a day trip with a tour agency which crossed the border. It was OK if you're not clued up on Visa requirments and would rather have it taken care for you

U can go Shenzen on a 5 day visa which u get at the border for £30

You can easily DIY it, we've booked most DIY including trains, accommodation etc the only thing we may have to do a tour for is hiking in the Altai/Ogli region in Western Mongolia, although we may have to adjust this as the Eagle Festival is on when we are there so the flights from Ulaanbaatar to Ogli are super expensive.

How awesome. Will be amazing. I really want to do this but been told not to do it alone & I am not into organised trips but may have to for this one. Have a fantastic time

Arrived and it's qwerty!!! Woop woop!

Mine is now at my 'Local Depot', I'll let you guys know what turns up!

You normally have to accept the 'buy wanted to cancel' once they initiate it to get the refund through. Definitely sounds a bit suspect but they are selling lots of products. Doesn't bother me too much as I'm covered either way.

I bought one, they cancelled the order even though I had paid with the reason 'buyer wanted to cancel' when I did no such thing. I then noticed they put the price up on the listing and when contacting them were just messing me about for days so had to file a PayPal claim to get my money back as they had removed the listing off eBay and would not reply!!!

I agree. Tourists should always get ripped off and scammed, everywhere in the world. I also think we're dipping into racism, discrimination, homophobia, xenophobia with people on here who are against criminal activity.

Seconded. Taiwan ftw

Taiwan is a good option if you would like to experience the authentic Chinese culture, with plenty activities to offer e.g. hot springs, forest parks, beaches etc. Visa free for UK nationals, nice food & much nicer people. Mega cities in China are rather soulless and will guarantee to stress you out big time.

Think so mate I've not had PS plus on foreign accounts but my friend used to create a foreign account of his PS plus ran out, you could sign up for a free 2 day trial was a bit of a loophole... And he'd sign up and play on his main account so should work. As long as you make sure the Hong Kong account a primary account, then you should be able to play on your current one too.

Hey mate, can you explain to me how this works, Is it if you add a PS plus on a Hong-Kong account, add it to your PS then sign in as ur UK account then you can have PS plus using the UK account?

Sorry for the late reply mate forgot about the app check my last comment, the deal is still on had my reasons for expiring it so if you're still interested still a mint deal.

Very true. Their economy doesn't even have IFE's. If you're after a "luxury trip" and money isn't an issue then don't book this, there are many other options out there. If you want a comfortable trip but not Y class , then this is for you.

It looks like an old A340 out from LHR which means you don't get a flat bed. That's pretty poor for a long haul business class flight nowadays. Price is decent, not great.

Why don't you trust Omega? I've booked flights with them before and not had any problems

I do travel to Doha quite frequently because my girlfriend lives there so I know that flights from the UK to Qatar are not cheap. You could get cheaper flights with Oman Air or Gulf Air but you need to change at least once. And Pegasus have a worse reputation than Ryanair and they're often late or their flights get cancelled so I'd not use them. I get it that it's a good price for a business class flight and you can collect a huge amount of Avios and tier points but you still need to get to Doha somehow. Maybe we could start posting deals on flights from Dallas to Johannesburg or Vladivostok to Shangai.

Why? Why do people comment on things they have absolutely no clue about :/

Not that hard: Kayak - BA Direct: £356 @Omega via Kayak (must admit, I wouldn't trust Omega though) - Pegasus (One stop) £202 @ Opodo via Kayak

Wow. £171 for a visa! I went to China for one day in March and hiked the wall at Mutianyu (stopover on the way to NZ). You can get in for nothing if you stay for less than 3 days. I was thinking about going back for a week or two but given the cost of a visa now I don't think I'll bother!

This is from Birmingham, is the price the same from London? How long are the flights? Cheers!

They were £60 last year , £151 in person now or £171 ( plus cost of recorded delivery both ways) by post. They take 4 days eg take up on the Monday and ready to collect on the Thursday and that is not the express service .

Mine was around that figure too but I believe they put their prices up.

Where did you get that figure from? I got mine in the london chinese visa centre for £60... only took 4 days as well

I think Qatar are living on a past reputation for service anyway. I have taken 4 long haul flights recently as one booking and each flight we encountered different levels of service from poor to adequate, some staff looked like they couldn't be bothered to serve you and even flicked the wine bottle top off and just stared at me.... Very wired indeed. Also some flights they gave out menus and others they didn't and one of those times there was only one choice on board so what's the point in handing a menu out. Anyway they have modern planes (just don't fly on airbus a330 or 787 dreamliner definitely no dreaming to be done on these as no leg space and long recline of seat in front. And tickets are generally pretty cheap with good ife so most won't care just don't expect emeriates or Singapore levels of service.

I wouldn't book with them ever again. I booked with their cheap fare to NZ - they have cancelled the flight and will only book me on flights for the same dates if i pay the difference (over £2000). So I'll have to book a flight with another airline to make the wedding. There are a total nightmare to deal with when things go wrong.

15 hours and for that reason I am out.

I've done the long stopover in Doha - it's hell. 3am, the business lounge is deserted... nobody for company but fluffy camels in the gift shop window and the occasional migrant labourer waxing the floors. Personally, I've learned that acceptable flight times and minimal transfer times are worth every penny... but I guess this will work for someone. If possible, I'd break it up with a couple of nights in town. The gulf transfers are enough to ruin the rest of your holiday.
