Not a great deal here

Because hardly anyone buys dvds anymore so they've had to start giving them away?! Lol Side not, Thomas and friends is not MY Thomas, remakes of classic cartoons make me sad, they being said, that song is so freaking catchy!

Got one today, it is a bargain for the price, I think people expect a full track layout, add £350 and you'll be there.

Got two for collection in Middleton Manchester if anyone wants the order number must be collected by Tuesday the 6th

In stock at Paisley Linwood. Ordered thanks

If anyone is finding the track layout too small, they do have their track extension packs reduced at the moment as well: http//www.argos.co.uk/search/hornby/

Worth checking in individual stores, this was marked at £30 in Asda Radcliffe the other day.

A great deal, £60+ elsewhere. A good pack for someone just getting started and a good way to buy some extra items if you already have a few sets. You can always sell those items you don't need like the controller.

Not a bad price for the Hornby santa express set for under the christmas tree.. Other retailers seem to be selling for around £50

It’s fab!! Bought it at the start of the year in the sales- my son found it under the stairs in Feb so we’ve been using it all year (lol)

£43.95 here - http://www.jadlamracingmodels.com/hornby-r1210-santas-express-christmas-train-set/

I say this ever year, but seriously get one! It looks awesome going round the Christmas tree 8) Nice price too OP!

Honestly you're better off using Gumtree & eBay and spend the £60 on used stuff. For that money you can pickup a nice selection of track & rolling stock especially if you shop around. Track is dirt cheap from Hattons. I use peco flexi track in 1m odd sections then cut to size if necessary. Avoid buying used Hornby points as they can cause derailment when worn.

Hornby's quality is pretty poor for the price on their normal sets. Gave up with them years ago especially as they seem to have a huge problem in financing new sets with modern trains. We aren't all baby boomers wanting steam engines!

I use swt trains most days so very familiar with what you say....

Choo Choo, all aboard the overpriced trainset

Even with 15% it's still not as cheap as last week

Great lunch box price heataaaggeee !!!!

That's odd; PRIMEDAY didn't work for me only PRIMEDAY17.

Both work it seems, their email said just PRIMEDAY, that's where got it from.

Lego Friends Cupcake Cafe was £24.95, it's now £36.02. Even with the 15% off code it's too expensive. Can't see anything in the Lego Friends range worth getting at these prices.

Using code LMVQL gives 20% off at Very making the Hornby set £47.99 (code valid for existing customers, expires 11 June). Still don't know if my son needs it though!

If it's the Royal Mail postal train it'll arrive late with damage to the carriage...

I agree its currently the same price at a number of other retailers including Very so whilst a good price (compared to the RRP) not really a great deal

I love Hornby but the Postal Express set sells for £60 to £70 odd elsewhere (£59.99 at Very). The £120 Tesco quote is the rrp so I think they were selling at too high a price to start with. Still anything to do with Hornby gets my vote.

Seems a bit of a bargain. Was originally £129 in Asda Direct. Ticket said £60 reduced to £30 complete bargain of your in to Hornby Trains

He's only 5 - at 10 it might be different!

Kids still play these? Would take a lot to drag my 10 year old away from GTA V!

We got one for £40 today from the Bridgwater store - marked as £60 on the box and reduced to £40 at checkout. Thank you so much to the poster. My son is ecstatic - we had told him his Christmas money wouldn't stretch to a model train set then I saw this and fingers crossed we hopped down to ASDA first thing and there they were.

Got it for £15 in Warrington Cockhedge Asda yesterday.

And I take it you told Amazon about the error....

£90? Debenhams are worse than Argos' over inflated rrps. These sets can always be had for around £30, take a look at other sets with this track layout like Rally Dirt Racers for example

Does anyone know if the 20% off voucher they were giving out before Christmas for use between 27 Dec - 8 Jan will work with this? (in store I mean). Thanks

hawkins hornby They were on here. A couple left now but looks like most are now sold as no longer in the list.

And it's digital, we are non digi! :)

Be careful ordering the Pit Lane "game", pretty sure it is just the display section, you will still need the pit lane in/out pack as well

Some good deals here. Digital Super Cars set is £87.50. Trucks and Karts come to £17.50. ( And Hawkins site has the stand alone Pit Lane Game c7041 for £22.49, another good deal. )

Really enjoyed building this to find the electric circuits board does not work! My children are really gutted. I work in electronics and found the circuit board that controls the motor and speed to be at fault. Just feel bad because my little ones are upset it doesn't work.

The implication being that any failure in the operation of the model is a result of the owner failing to assemble it correctly?

Boeing fast....

Hornby Says...It’s incredibly disappointing to hear of your experiences with the Jet Engine and I’m sorry for all the frustration caused. I can, however, assure you the Jet Engine will operate with careful and precise construction. If you would like to try and get your Jet Engine running please contact our Customer Care team who will be able to help: www.airfix.com/contact

I had one of these a few years ago, the engine spins the wrong way.
