2300mah battery? mediatek chipset? 720p not very bright screen.

the problem for just about everything under £150 is the p8lite2017 exists.

this would have to have something special like a really good camera.. does it?

edit: actually performance looks fine but still probably doesnt stack up against p8lite does it?

Nothing to do with political correctness at all.
Simply identifying the correct tool for the job.

Some folk will argue that black is white and won't desist even when the evidence is in front of them.
You suggested that Toolstation call them coach bolts, I proved that you were wrong but you still persist.

Thieves. Cancelled my order but would not refund money. Stay away from these crooks.
Caveat emptor me thinks.
Toby Deals should be banned from HotUKDeals. Plenty of stuff against them online from customers who have been ripped off. Not only are they based in HK, but they definitely scam and rip people off. Their terms and conditions are totally illegal - it even states in their own T&Cs that they will not give you a refund if your item gets lost in transit etc. They purposely do not respond to complaints / people's emails etc.

Criminal seller completely breaking the law and based in HK, suddenly selling loads of high value items on HotUKDeals. It's laughable that their deals are featuring on this site.

i have this phone for 3 months now, unlike 99% of all dual sim phones this one has a separate micro sd slot which means you can have 2 x sim cards plus micro sd card,5.7 large screen, plays all GTA games without any lag,can be rooted which enables you to move large apps to sd therefor you can install lots of games even though the phone only has 16gb of internal memory, loud speakers perform well specially when you increase the volume from the service menu, smart looking phone i have the gold one it looks much more expensive specially in it's quality black leather case (i will leave link below) , the only things i don't like about this phone are the average camera,it's on the heavy side & the lack of android updates the phone is still stuck on marshmallow android v 6.0 with no plans for android v 8.0 or even v 7.0 also quality is questionable specially for a chinese brand,i have no idea how long it will last. we also have Xiaomi redmi 4x & build quality is like iphone 6s

Easy to root & install custom ROM, I'm running Lineage 14.1 (Android 7.1) on mine without any issues. For the pricepoint you are looking at Doogee, Oukitel, etc, so you try them and take your pick. I can't comment on Oukitel but I've had a Doogee in the past and was disappointed with the build quality, this Leagoo appears to be far more robust. Time will tell but if I get a year out of it then I'll be happy.

You'll need to open the top of the box and find the eMMC chipset.

WARNING: There's a bad batch of M8S Pro+ boxes which are experiencing regular freezing and crashes. We've narrowed the source of the problem down to a Samsung eMMC 5.1 chipset (KLMAG1JENB - B041), batches SEC 652 to 713, and these usually shipped from the factory with version 20170829.121614.V0321 of the OEM firmware. If you have one of these, it's highly recommended that you not flash any ROM (custom or OEM), as the prolonged block writes seem to result in serious data corruption.

I'm not particularly bothered about the brand of the handset. I'm looking more towards something that's got a decent enough hardware specification that it'll still be able to function without issue in a few years time and still run the majority of stuff on the play store, obviously barring any unforseen issues.
Go for the M8 over the M9 at a better condition too (If you absolutely must have a HTC handset @ under £200) Very good M8 vs Good M9 condition. Then maybe flash a rom to put it in Nougat.

I don't think it's just the recent S912's, I suspect it's been the case for a few years. Of course there are some manufacturers who innovate, but that comes at a price which I suspect the majority of the market wont pay - especially when there are a multitude of cheaper alternatives that appear to do the same job.

You mention Beelink - they're not cheap yet the thirty odd quid box I bought a few weeks ago has dual band WiFi and works perfectly on both 2.4 & 5GHz. In fact, overall its as good as I would expect in that price range - interestingly its now £46, jumped up by a tenner!

[quote=louiselouise]I think if you take the Android box market as a … [quote=louiselouise]I think if you take the Android box market as a whole, the vast majority of boxes are "rebrands" - a few factories churning out similarly specced boxes with a finite combination of components but with slight design differences (cases, packaging etc) which are then sold by a multitude of sellers.Maybe I'm less demanding than others, but we've had a few Android boxes over the years and as long as you configure them correctly (Kodi, streaming apps etc) I haven't noticed any significant difference in performance between the various models. The main noticeable difference has been in the Android version used.

Yeah, I remember reading a few of the recent S912 boxes were all clones of one another.

My brother has the Beelink Mini MXIII II which has decent dual-band Wi-Fi from all the reviews I'd read at the time - he's been moaning saying it drops out a lot and it also asks him to input the WEP key regularly which must be a PITA.

I could blame his router but that sounds more like a hardware bug. My Mini MXIII has been fine, no issues.

So close. 4G and I would have been sold.

leagoo are bringing out the t10 in the near future, l have the leagoo shark and this one (m8) the shark is 4g and it has a 6300mah battery. bought the shark from gearbest presale for £70 but it's about £130+ now. may be worth looking out for t10 on presale.

Seems to have jumped up to £79.99 in the past 20 minutes. Get's good reviews though so heat added... but I'm holding out for a Sonos.

*** Update... my mistake... £79.99 from Amazon... didn't spot the Amazon Marketplace price of £61.99.
