didnt think piracy was allowed on hukd. personally i'd rather pay the developers my honest hard earned money for quality games, on this occasion i messed up but on the whole i'm more than happy paying them for the enjoyment they provide with quality titles, like zobtw, splatoon2, mario odyssey, horizon zero dawn, god of war ...

ASMR_RELIEF

Easily saved a grand on games with this

kas786

Sort of ... I fell into all the hype about this game. Never played this genre of game. At the time the Switch library was very thin of top quality game (yes i've got the zelda's, splatoons, marios etc...). I just wanted needed another Zelda fix and i thought this was do it for me ... YES I admit i have an addiction. ZBOTW was my 1st foray into the Hyrule universe, and OMG what a start. I just was craving more Zelda in my life. Do apologise & yes i will seek out the necessary medical help for my addiction.

Andrew_Nickerson

So you bought it expecting it to be something it isn't and now blame the game for that?

Couldn't wait in the end! Even though the cartridge is on order, it's won't get here til next week, so I got impatient and downloaded it anyway! (Am keeping the cartridge though when it comes). I like to have the official physical stuff as collectibles for zelda stuff, even though technically the cartridge is totally useless to me now. But man, this is such a good game!

Alasdair91

Got charged £37.99 so they clearly don’t adjust the price if it falls, which is quite cheeky.

hogo_

The Wii U version of this ran at 720p/30fps, this version runs at 1080p/60fps in docked mode (720/30 in handheld). It'll be clearer in motion and more responsive due to the higher framerate, and with this type of game that's a big advantage. I already have the Wii U and N3DS versions, but that fact alone means I'll be re-buying. Plus it has the extensive updates and DLC from the previous versions included, which is nice.

Eleftheria.Ellinakis

Yeah that's pretty much how I see it aswell. (they definitely made a way better effort than what ubisoft did with the so called definitive edition of Rayman). Again, was another great game, so I'm ot knocking it, but the switch version of rayman just didn't feel like they'd done anything much to it at all. Whereas for Hyrule Warriors, it already seems better even just from what I've seen in the trailers. (...Though perhaps I'm just biased because it's Zelda). Thanks for the really nice comments aswell though! (I'm so excited myself even just thinking about this game, that the feeling must be coming out in my writing!) But glad it's rubbing off on you! Anyways, not long now though until it's finally here!

Eleftheria.Ellinakis

Your welcome! I can see your logic on the difference between ports and remasters though, That said, when you consider that most switch games are between 50-70 bucks though (especially for premium franchises like Zelda, Mario, Kirby, etc., and also most things on the eShop for even many of the lesser popular games), I'm certainly not going to complain at games being closer to the 30 bucks mark. I personally think it's a rip off for any game to be 70 bucks anyway, and was horrified when that started happening. So I'm with you on voting with your wallet to try and stop that becoming the norm and I deliberately avoid the games priced at silly amounts like the 50-70 bucks mark wherever possible, specifically for that reason. I think around the 30 bucks mark is much more reasonable amount for games though generally (40 bucks tops for the higher end games) . So I strongly want to encourage that whenever I see switch games priced within that range. On ports, I also agree that they should be less than premium prices. So even 30 bucks would be too high for older games like NES and SNES titles, etc. (for those I'd say 5-15 bucks, tops). But this Hyrule Warriors port is in a completely different league in my opinion. Even the WiiU version of Hyrule Warriors was an excellent caliber game. (it's not even that old, and I'm pretty sure I paid more than this on the WIiU version, even without counting any of the DLC) There was absolutely tonnes of content even before any of the the DLC was added to it. (hundreds of hours without even scratching the surface). So the Switch version having all that already included, plus a bunch of extra stuff added, I'm not sad at all for what they are charging! It's incredibly fun to play, and even the original was graphically beautiful. So even if the graphics haven't been changed at all, no complaints from me whatsoever on this game. I'm really happy for what I'm actually getting. (I had secretly wished they would add the 3DS functionality as an update to the WiiU version back when the 3DS version came out anyway, which sadly, they never did). So to see they have thought of that for the Switch version, I was already sold on that alone! Being a Zelda game aswell (and also one of the better ones), I don't even have to think twice for this one. It's one of those games that once you start playing it, it's so addictive that it's very hard to put it down. I think this is going to be another year where I don't get much sleeping done, that's for sure!

domd212

It's the wii u and 3ds with all dlc for both joined into one game. In my opinion it's really worth the price.

HappyHooligan

Is this a complete new game, or another WiiU game released on the Switch at an extortionate price with an extra map or a couple of new characters?

sephiroth_316

Had the triforce light which was very weak also so will steer clear of this one too

joanddan7

21 Wii compatible Games mentioned in this thread and I think only 5 are on switch..... id argue both ps4 and xbone have far more remasters from last gen than switch. switch has lots of games that were released on xbone and ps4.... which we all approve of I’d say. With only a 4 year life and limited sales id like to see more Wii u games make their way to the switch

Brilliant game. Only buy it if you have a NEW 3ds though.

kos1c

Single analog over the dual analog controls. Unsure if this game takes advantage of the 2nd stick, but that's all I could think between the two units.

trun0jay

Less comfortable controls?... what are you on about?

noahsdad

How long has he had his 3DS? Am wondering if it is the 1st gen or 2nd gen 3DS unit? It is compatible with the 2DS, but a reducing playing experience is guaranteed unfortunately due the tiny screens, no option to suitable tilt the screen angles, less comfortable controls and the lower frame rate will presumably impact the game.

Apparently they did have stock. Somehow I don't believe them as they just increased the prices of the games back up again.

bagelsaurus

Tempted to do the same. Still have my Persona 5 CE pre-order with them, which was cheaper than elsewhere. Kind of makes me wary of them pulling this cancellation guff with that.

Spasho

I just sent Base an email/rant about my two cancelled orders. Base should have been honest and stated "This was a misprice and we have to cancel." rather than cherry picking how to word it without saying it truthfully.

bagelsaurus

All my orders with them got cancelled. Hate when they use excuses like 'stock depletion', could have just been honest and said they got the price wrong.

jamesw306

Well I won't ever be using base again. When companies let their customers down in this way they need to understand the repercussions of their actions... So long and thanks for all the games ;)
