And there’s the catch if you have one

As of you need a new plug? Use any USB c adapter you have.

IMO this is poor value no apple box no official usb cable and no wall plug and cosmetic damage when you factor in the cost of new plug and cable a new one isn’t much more

refurbished iPad Air 2020 64GB Wifi + Cellular (Grade B) - £389.69 (UK mainland) @ Cheapest Electrical/ eBay with code

Grade B is usually very good from Cheapest Electrical. Available in blue, green and silver at time of posting.

I got a grade B from them for £280 on a recent eBay code, the description did say it had a hairline crack edge to edge but when I got it it looked far worse than I anticipated. However, I got lucky with Apple as being under the standard limited warranty, they accepted a possible manufacturing defect and replaced it (a single hairline crack without any spider-webbing on an otherwise pristine device is usually covered under the standard warranty).

Nice deal, missed out but I got a pro 12.9 256gb cellular for 640, not bad :)

To be fair, this dock could facilitate a nice dual screen setup when combined with Shiftscreen. Also, regarding cheaper USB-C hubs being available, it's worth noting that the Magic Keyboard for 11" iPad Pro costs £279 while a cheap bluetooth keyboard substitute can be purchased for a fraction of the amount. So perhaps this shouldn't be voted down based on *perceived* value for money.

Thats like saying you can get a tablet for £40, were an Ipad might set you back £800, it is not an alternative product, it is something totally different, exactly the same with this deal, yes you can get other products but NOT this one for a better price.

Sorry, I don't agree. A hot deal is the cheapest you can get that particular item for. It's not about alternative products that can be had cheaper. Suppose someone posts a deal where you can get a Spaghetti dish at a Gordon Ramsey restaurant for £1. By your argument, since you can buy a pack of noodles for 15p, this wouldn't be a hot deal (since some would say the noodles are an "alternative product" to the Spaghetti dish). For someone looking for this particular ipad dock, this is a hot deal as it is the cheapest currently available.

It's a deal website where value for money is not just the RRP / Discount. There are good deals and there are bad deals. This is a deal, yes. But it's a bad deal to most. If i have a bic biro and say the RRP is £15,000 - but for today only it's a mere £150 - would you now say this is a deal and should be voted hot?? As there are multiple alternate products with similar spec and at a much lower cost, this then is not a good deal. It's a bad deal. Ergo, cold.

Yes! Someone who understands! I agree, not a product I'd buy, however it IS a good deal for people who do want this product.

Not as good as the Amazon Cellular deal, although the iPad Air RRP is about £100 overpriced in my opinion, should start at £479 otherwise the last years pros and even this years pros are too close for comfort in price when you consider the amount extra you get.

Celluar from amazon for the same monies is much better buy Ipad Air 2020 - 64GB Wifi + Cellular Silver - £549.97 @ Amazon - hotukdeals

Was thinking you posted the same tablet as mine mate. I wonder who Amazon price matched (confused)

Not really. FaceID is great.

Bit dramatic.

Yes thats what I'm doing at the moment, but like you've said not sure whether my sim would have worked. Got the one off virgin free with their TV and broadband. Thanks for your input.

You can but it depends on your provider (some of them are difficult with phone SIMs in tablets - Three used to be but might have changed). To be honest, you're better off just taking the phone and tethering the iPad to it. Even so, I don't think the extra cost of the Cellular model is justified - if Apple charged maybe £30-50 more it might be worthwhile.

Don't know much about what they cost now but seemed a decent price. I was looking at it because was going on holiday for a couple of weeks and was hoping I could take the sim out of my phone and put it in this, but wasn't sure whether you could do that.

£520-ish using the code on ebay here*

I don’t value Cellular that high as I’d never pay for another data plan to use it and think Apple rips people off for the upgrade, it’s not even 5G for the extra cost - though I think the iPad is a good tablet, at over £500 the Air doesn’t look like great value next to the Pro.
