Deleted my post as it occurred to me to search the same dates for just 2 adults,it's about £20 cheaper, they won't mind ;)

Probably not, but your son or daughter might be upset being left behind. :p

Agree weather may be more unpredictable. This time last year was 1 short afternoon storm, 1 overcast day and the rest nice and sunny. I was happy with that although agree weather cannot be guaranteed. Later in the year also means less crowded..... always a bonus.

Mine are off the week after but I saw a £400 to Madeira same week from BHX

Beautiful place. 22 Oct? Could be a bit wet and windy!

Ryanair still in business? Just goes to show that people will overlook anything so long as the price is low.

Trevisio is quite far (roughly 90 mins in train I think!) from Venice but worth it at this price

Milan is amazing but you deffo need a few days. We stayed just outside the city towards one of the lakes but would certainly go back. People were lovely too

Great deal. Shame its with ryan air, flights will probably get cancelled .

I always book direct with the actual company, via credit card and never via an agent. Section 75 protection!

Milan. Nice place but you need more than a day there. Make sure you make your way back to the right airport after your stay. I ended up at the wrong one and had a mad taxi ride to get to the other before the gate closed. Cost me £150 but just made it in time.

I have no problem staying on the outskirts of town for a city break. I've done it myself a few times. I would want it to be in a better hotel than this though and it's far from ideal when you only have one day in Milan. I feel like a broken record on these deals but I'll keep saying it, they're a bad idea. Late arrival flight and early departure means you can't do anything on the 1st and 3rd days. The hotels they include are always poorly located and average at best. If you want to do a city break book your flights and hotel separately. It may cost a bit more but it will be worth it if you want to actually enjoy the break.

Yes, sad and monumental false comment. As I am Italian and lived in Italy for 25 years, how would I know.... I suggest you google "fettucine alfredo unheard of in italy" and see what you find. As regards your beloved La Repubblica website, if you can read Italian, then see what this says: Or try this, in English (see number 9):

What a sad, monumental false comment, any can just Google restaurant menus in Italy and the La Repubblica web site and find Fettuccine Alfredo everywhere on Italian web sites.

That dish is unheard of in Italy

Even with an amicable discussion (amazingly nobody has insulted anyone, as is usually the case) the comments made by some people are very loaded and typify what is wrong with the tipping culture. A reasonable argument is spoiled by comments such as: "If you want to be a Scrooge . . . . ", ". . . if you want to be as mean as that. . ." and so on. What you are doing is telling people they are wrong in a round about way and dismissing their opinion according to your own standards. I have become very aware of a backlash against tipping particularly in poor countries, where a single tip can amount to more than a week's wages. This skews the local economy and puts unfair pressure on those who do not do the type of job where tipping is common, and creates a situation where everyone wants to do this type of job rather than do a real job (i.e. a necessary one). Then there is the problem I hear more and more about customers on all-inclusive holidays being snubbed by bar staff who don't hand them a tip on every drink serving despite the fact that no money should be changing hands. In reality, most countries I have visited never initially had a tipping culture but thanks to our friends from the USA, it has been introduced to them, and it goes through the stage of acceptable-encouraged-compulsory-bullying. Despite the best interests of those who say tipping is a personal thing, it just doesn't work like that, and there are enough greedy and hard faced people around who will make people uncomfortable for those who do not hand over extra cash. I appreciate this is a topic about cruises, and that's where the problem lies, because if I am on land and I don't want to tip, then I can go elsewhere, but on a cruise I don't have a choice. Yes, I can opt of of the 'compulsory' tipping if I want, but then we hear of incidents of the list of opt-outers posted on the staff notice board to give a free for all to give problems to those customers. I'm not saying this is the norm, but I really don't want to take the risk that this may happen on my expensive holiday. If the correct price for the trip was charged in the first place, all these problems would go away. As far as I am concerned I cannot be the guardian for the low paid staff. It is 100% the fault of their employers that they are low paid, but tipping gives employers carte blanche to continue the low pay culture . If they do their job well, they will be appreciated verbally, and that should be sufficient. I've even heard of people being expected to tip ship's officers and the captain in these extra charges. No way are they going to be poor.

Bring your own lifeboat.....

Rokjit £359

Spot on. No way we can change an industry. These workers are virtually always from poor countries and get paid a pittance.75P an hour. If you want to be a Scrooge dont go on Cruises. If you do go, dont treat these unfortunate staff as your skivvies.

Totally agree with you OP, well said.

Stay in Malcesine and you can get the ferries from there to other parts. The lake is a lot larger than you think. Plenty to do from there.

Lake Garda is not expensive to eat out. I've stayed in Malcesine and lunchtime is cheaper than dinner. Wine is very very cheap if you buy some in the local shops , supermarkets. We had a fabulous time.

Just noticed the price has gone up £318 now( probably weekend demand). That said sometimes as they fill more seats on the plane the price increases.

We ate at The Green Frog and a couple of the restaurants either side. Maybe when im comparing prices im comparing them with Spain and Zante which i felt was about 30% cheaper. I did enjoy the Hugo Spritzer not so keen on Aperol Spritzer.

op where did you eat i found it really cheap i ate in most places

Do you and your friends have 10 phone contracts with Three between you? :/

Ok so I’m a three customer so if I have a movie night with my friends and get 10 pizzas for me and my friends I’m cheating?

It is cheating. It’s being dishonest and ruining it for the honest people Especially when people get 10 pizzas from domino’s.

It’s not a game so no one is cheating. It’s called sharing is caring ;)

Yeep. Agree with you there. No cross platform or anything. Kind of annoying. But there are so many games i want to play thats only on ps4 that xbox seems like eating curry without salt.

Xbox itself isn't garbage but Sony are definitely dominating the exclusive market. Just a shame Sony have been nobs with shareplay. Purely to force people to buy a PS4 to play with PS4 friends/family...

Oh god this is such a good deal. If only xbox wasnt garbage

Yeah i kept trying to use the code but it says its no longer valid. Its probably not gonna work till tomorrow.

Ultra Street Fighter IV code received, but suggested I don’t use until tomorrow when the Collection is officially released. That said, USFIV is completely separate to the main game, so I don’t think there would be any problems.

Nice one. Apparently the codes for those who ordered the digital version will be sent out in “one to two weeks,” so I’m not too concerned. I haven’t actually played Street Fighter III at all, despite owning it on the Dreamcast (I think there’s a Japanese copy in a cupboard somewhere), but I can vouch for Alpha 3!

Yeah i messaged them and they said they’d send it as soon as Capcom have given them the codes since they don’t have it atm. Been playing 3rd strike since i heard that one was pretty good but do you have any recommendations as to which one is the best out of the collection?

I got mine, too. I expect Gaming Express will send the code via email on Tuesday. Maybe. Hopefully! I might email them now...

Used to go here as a kid back in the 90s, great place. Heat added

Stayed in Jesolo in early 1980s, loved it, tempted to go again. Mind you this time my wife would want to go also ;(

I've stayed in Jesolo a number of times in the 2000s. Great place. Visited more recently and it's modernised quite a bit. Many sea front hotels. The beaches are clean, seas vary between quite rough and calm. The main road, one block back from the beach runs a few km in length with many bars restaurants and shops. It can be quite pricey to stay in the nicer hotels, and not too cheap in the economy ones. This seems a decent deal. You can catch a boat or bus or a bit of both to Venice (one of my favourite places).

I've stayed at this resort very near the end of the season and had a great time at a lovely family run hotel with pool. The restaurants are pretty good something to suit any budget. We hired bikes and wandered all over the place on them as it's very cycle freindly .

Lovely resort but hotel is a no from me unless Harry has refurbished it completely!
