Why pay £140 for a 256gb one when that is its only practical use? using to play videos off the device directly results in significant battery drain and the players are limited to the ones made for the memory sticks which are all quite limited.

Yes, of course you can use a smaller version (OF THIS) if you want to transfer less.

The point of these memory sticks is that you can transfer the videos and the photos to the stick then connect that to a pc or anything else than has a USB connection and then transfer them to that. And vice versa. How do you connect a "32 gig drive or a standard memory stick" to an ipad?

Otherwise there is no point having more storage than what's on your ipad. could easily get a 32gb drive like this for your ipad and a standard 256gb memory stick (if you need that much storage I can't see the reason myself) for far less.

true but less than half the price and still with a 2 year warranty. I also …true but less than half the price and still with a 2 year warranty. I also just cannot see the point of these devices, with apple limiting you to the apps that can use the data you are generally much better off spenidng more on an ipad with more storage.

These are expensive for usb drives, but useful if you've got an ipad or iphone and don't want to mess around with icloud.
However unfortunately this size is available form the seven day shop for £24.99 delivered

I didn't vote, but it doesn't strike me as a bargain.

Well done for trying though!

EDIT Voted hot - having a quick look, seems that this is a good price if you want the item!

Sigh. Not all Android devices can be rooted. Some have unbreakable firmware locks. Others, like my Moto G require you to go through the vendor thereby invalidating your manufacturer's warranty. Your small sample of you doesn't give you the authority to generalise about the otg capabilities of all Android devices, to be honest.

Once you start talking about custom ROMs (a buggy and shoddy mess in my experience), then you are admitting that the product wasn't all that in the first place. You pays your money and you takes your choice.

For what it is worth, I don't expect Apple to offer W10 on any of its products any time, soon. Nor Microsoft for very long the way things are going.

Actually, I missed the fact that this has dual lightning/usb connectors. Once you factor in a lightning to usb adapter, this become more attractive as an all-in-one solution. Apologies for jumping the gun.
The going rate for 32gb flash drives is ~£5. This is not a good price, sorry.
