Basically, you have to shift the stick 17% of the way before it'll even consider your action an input, which would make movement somewhat more clunky, and make it more difficult to do subtle shifts whilst maneuvering. For comparison's sake, the HOTAS 4 (which is basically the same stick updated slightly and compatible with the PS4) has a deadzone that's about 6%.

I'll be sending mine back if that's truly the case. I've got a Saitek Evo and that feels like it has no deadzone (you have to setup one to cover the noise from it sitting off centre) so I'm hoping it's just a driver configuration issue if people have to move the stick that much to get it to register.

I've got one of these, just don't expect it to make you any better at Elite Dangerous, and expect to waste a lot of time mapping the controls.

monster light its 88 grams and about 12cm long, not exactly a monster.

ps. i posted this deal at the same time, for a £2 light hotukdeals.com/dea…831
they have both had 88 and 89 hot votes respectively, one is -26 the other over 200..

just shows how biased this site is to numptys seeing something at £2 being a bargain but an item that is £159 on multiple sites and reduced to £103 here is not a deal..

car headlights are regulated, don't flash and are inspected for alignment …car headlights are regulated, don't flash and are inspected for alignment every year at the mot. This monster light is fitted to a helmet for the sole purpose of dazzling people.Along with "reliable and super bright white light that you need when tackling the wintry roads"and[Image] leads me to think too much testosterone, too little grey matter, a bike and this light are a bad mixture. Lets face it whoever pays £103 for a torch called "exposure joystick" probably does with a flasher mac down the park

It's really quite easy to point these at the road.

It's amazing just how much you think you can learn from someone just because they've bought a product you don't understand.

If you think this person is somehow dangerous with a torch imagine how dangerous they'd be in a car?
nougat10 h, 15 m ago

Surely this would be illegal on a car.

A car headlight is 1800 lumens, these max out at a 1000. Yes it could be pointed in your eyes but plenty of cars have mis aligned headlights as well.

(using the HOTAS) how the hell does one navigate the comms panel to tell …(using the HOTAS) how the hell does one navigate the comms panel to tell the station I want to dock?

Via Reddit (link at bottom):

The HOTAS 4 plays lovely with this game, and has a custom control scheme specifically for it. There's obviously a lot of commands in the game, but, in brief...

The throttle controls forward and reverse thrust, and houses the DS4 face buttons, R2 and L2. R2 and L2 are on the back of the throttle, along with a special 'rocker' switch, and between them all they handle the alternative flight controls - strafe left and right on the rocker, vertical thrust up and down with R2/L2. This is great as you don't have to switch flight modes at any time, everything is always available.

The face buttons are on the front of the throttle:

Square - hold down and use POV hat on stick to navigate between UI panels

Triangle - hold and use POV for supercruise/hyperspace

Cross - hold and POV for target select. Tap to target whatever's in front of you

Circle - hold and POV for cargo scoop/landing gear. Tap for speed boost

Pitch/yaw/roll all on the stick, with R1, L1, R3, L3 and POV hat:

Yaw is on stick twist and roll on left/right axis by default. The only change I made to the setup was to switch these around, personal preference.

R1 - trigger, shooty shooty

L2 - trigger 2

R3 - hold and use POV hat to look around (head movement)

L3 - don't actually think I've used this...perhaps I'm forgetting something..?

POV hat - redistribute system power between SYS/ENG/WEP

POV hat will also act like dpad in menus, while Cross is like select/confirm and Circle cancel/back

Reading back, that seems like a lot, but considering I'm new to all this and only had a few hours with the game (only played with HOTAS), it's proof to me of how quickly it's all been ingrained in my muscle memory. It's an intuitive setup!

If I've forgotten anything, or you've any other questions, feel free to ask

Tbh, that odd feeling of getting the worse Joycon out the two disappears rather quick. It's a small stretch for the left hands thumb. (That's the same feeling without the grip) But you get used to it, it's not like it's unusable.

A lot of companies seem to be doing this rebranding tactic.

Their rubber grips from that bundle are comfy but do not fit the Nintendo switch joycons well. Their slightly to large and easily fall off.The quality on Chinese goods are getting a lot better in the past few years. So I wouldn't say "Orzly own their own factory and produce these things because the quality is better."My point was. There are many companies who take an already existing product and rebrand it. You see it a lot on Kickstarter and I got this feeling thats the same with Orzly is as well. A company who take existing products and just whacked their names on it. Further reading they are a sub company to Syntiga who are a distributor and manufacture to mobile accessories. Would explain why a lot of the Orzly products are identical to other copies out there in the market.

2nd night in a row I've jumped at a late night Game deal. Managed to snag one at £19.99... Now to find a game to play it with. I must have one in my 300+ library somewhere.. Surely..
Had this for a while, previous deal at £24. Not too bad. Really bought it to use with Star Citizen but still waiting for the game to be worth playing lol.
I find flight games such as war thunder quite tricky as the centre deadzone seems too large and then it suddenly reacts, getting a small adjustment is difficult and I can’t tweak the setting quite right. May just be me.
Loads of buttons. Works with PC and PS3 via a switch.

X52 is a very old HOTAS and frankly even at this price point isn't worth it. The throttle is nice but the stick is awful, save up a little and get the X55 or combo a T16000M with a CH Pro throttle. I say this as someone who owned an X52 for 7 years - it's old tech, released over TEN years ago and only bought by those who don't understand how poor the tech inside the stick is, or by those who have never tried cheaper sticks like the T16000M which at £30 blows the X52s socks off.
