Whatever your point is im not care but price is good! (look at beginning of the subject).

An IT genius who is unable to spot a sarcastic construction bigger than the Empire State Building, academics eh hohum

Good luck to yours paranoic... I used to work as Cisco engineer and did helped to some companies on level 7 tech support and none of my colleagues or companies see anything suspicious from Kaspersky lab.

Yes of course Vlad; tks for your input.

To understand you need to read IT news portal but not political ones. Also if you will try to point us through farmers portal - it will say that Kaspersky did reduce of their crop of potatoes.

Kaspersky total security 2018 - 10 devices £21.99 @ Amazon
Found 23rd MarFound 23rd Mar
10 devices. 2018 version

I suspect they don't care what you brought, more if they can key log your passwords etc.

They'll just see I've been very active on HUKD and don't have any money, due to frivolous purchases I didn't need, because I can't resist a good deal!

They are welcome to knock themselves out on my info; nothing of interest. However for anyone using on-line banking on their device then there is something that's worth protecting very strongly...

Great offer. The prices will go up after Brexit!

Suppose people based in the UK still want to use Kaspersky AV, is there any practical actions one can take? How about any recommended settings that will minimise on exposure?

Sorry but I think you are just a Russian Troll.

Hi Yuri

Nope they didn't. False information spreads so well doesn't it. Israel programmers, backed by USA, in one specific incident hacked a copy of Kaspersky to spy on an organisation. Or so the story goes. There was no backdoor and given physical access they could have chosen any piece of software. The only thing Kaspersky AV has been proven to do 'wrong' was submit a NSA written keylogger found on a PC to the company for analysis. This is something practically all AV software does and is opt out. So, it worked exactly as designed but just so happened to catch the NSA out. Facts (as best as known) people!

But nobs do not know it... they are believe that this is a US politics... in fact programmers from Israel have found backdoor code in this software...

awesome, cheers just come to laptop to find my license had run out also didn't realise that i was using the Total security suite, put the activation code in, it said it was for a different product but then installed and switched me over to the other program automatically, no faffing which is an awesome touch :D

Personally I'm more worried about who writes the news, and the things they don't write about.

FYI this "deal" is for 3 devices. And the link for the free version (NOT Kaspersky Internet Security) is https://usa.kaspersky.com/downloads/thank-you/free-antivirus-download

The funny thing is all these people saying Kaspersky are spying have got their news from googling, or Facebook, or mainstream media sites, all of which are data mining too. Most are even reading this so called news using Android or chrome devices, or even Windows or Mac, all of which “spy” on them too. Even the ISP is at it! Whether you want to believe it or not, your data is going all over the place without your knowledge, and to say no to probably the best security suite because of some silly mainstream media scaremongering is just ridiculous. It will help reduce the spying that already going on if nothing else..

I'm assuming you'd need costco membership for this. Do they have many decent offers often? (in order to make my membership fee worthwhile, else not worth it for jusrt this software alone)

The perfect citizen subject. Swallowing hook, line & sinker the propaganda narrative that Russia=bad. Personally, I trust 'Russia' more with 'access' to my data than the UK/US any day of the week.

Kaspersky is excellent. They become victims of American anti-Russian campaign. Yanks seems to attack any successful Russian company. Even UK government not found any evidence regarding Kaspersky supporting Kremlin. They just cautioned about using Russian av.

yup they are different products. I would take alot of what is said about kaspersky with some added salt. Remember intel's mcafee, isn't doing well, same with the other av. Also other av's have silmar capabilities that kaspersky susposidly has

Kaspersky anti-virus is not same as Internet security...

They won't - they get their income from click-throughs - doesn't matter how dodgy the deal is (mad)

Don't let common sense and facts get in the way! I've had these discussions before and am told that big corps sell office computers to refurbishers and the refurbisher re-sells the windows and office 2016 licence. I then ask why they haven't scrubbed the hard drive like any big corp would do. Silence. I ask why wouldn't the big corp re-use the office licence as it's so new. Silence. But apparently it's totally legit yeah riiiight.

You dont even need to activate w10 if you can handle the limited personalisation.

It's a pop up on my computer from Kaspersky, as my renewal is due very soon. I can screen print the next time I log on, if you want proof.

It’s up to you as to how you value your own privacy. If the govt wanted to monitor me they could easily bug my home or whatever, but I just don’t want them collecting everything I do by default - which is how they operate these days now that most people spend a significant portion of their life online.

To a certain extent probably not. All comes down to how that data is controlled. How many people have IP CCTV cameras on here. With those any random company can view in your home. How many have Echos/iPhones/Google Homes, with those anyone could be listening to every word, and those same companies know everyone you call, browsing history, in the case of Amazon they know everything you buy etc. Banks already know everything you spend, your location when you do, all your personal info and very soon with open banking this information can be shared automatically with other companies at the touch of a button. Link these things together and a random company based in LA, New York or China will know what you say, where you are, what you buy and all your personal details. This can happen now. So for me, my own government whose main aim I would like to think is to protect its people knowing last week I googled what time my local Chinese takeaway opened really isn’t a worry for me.

So taking that logic a bit further... you won't mind if the government one day decides to start observing you in your home?

Why care unless you’re doing something wrong?

Where's Edward Snowden when you need him, i'm sure he'l tell us what to do and choose! And to be honest, I'd rather have my details in Russian hands as they have no Jurisdiction on me, rather than American NSA/ Englands' hands who'l just end up shafting me LMAO!! 8) .... if i was a criminal that is!!

Has anybody ever got a virus on Linux? Not hearsay, just your own experience.

Just because you’re paranoid, it doesn’t mean they’re not after you.

Newsflash: The Russian operative responsible has now been identified.

Hah... Putin will access porn on my PC? :)) I have nothing to hide from Russians:) What about Government with CCTV and ANPR cameras?! Our phones Google for example... they track us every second... locations, contacts everything sent to US servers...

How long would these codes last? I have 11 days left on one sub and have another year queued up. I bought another sub but it appears you can only queue up one code, which I'll be able to do in 11 days. This is a great deal tho so would like to buy a couple, bt what are the chances they'll still work in a year/2 years?

Use the same one year after year.Been a member since 2012 with 1000s of positive feedback.

Look at the feedback first, I was caught out on one of these and I found although codes seemed good at first, they were suddenly blocked by Kaspersky and the seller had previously sold them to others and they had been already activated. A lot of hassle but PayPal refunded me and the seller cancelled the outstanding order I had with them too. (annoyed)

Go and look at places like AV-Test or AV Comparatives for detections and performance. It's been well known for decades that running two antivirus alongside each other increases the potential for conflicts and performance issues, and they don't always increase protection levels like you think they will. Using three increases the risk even further. https://blogs.microsoft.com/microsoftsecure/2014/08/05/can-i-run-more-than-one-antivirus-program/ https://blog.kaspersky.com/multiple-antivirus-programs-bad-idea/2670/ https://support.symantec.com/en_US/article.TECH104806.html https://www.bitdefender.com/security/don-t-use-two-antivirus-programs-at-once.html Without even taking into account features like banking protection, parental control, password storage or file encryption/back, do the free AVs you mention have things like HIPS and decent firewall protection? I suppose I could also ask you if you have any evidence to substantiate your claims that Lavasoft Adaware, AVG, Malwarebytes and Windows Defender used in combination are better than Kaspersky...

can you point to any real evidence to substantiate either of those 2 statements?

Kaspersky beats all of those in terms of detection, features and it certainly will in terms of performance, and why would you want to use 3 antivirus at once? That's a disaster waiting to happen.

Kaspersky no better than Lavasoft Adaware, AVG, Malwarebytes, Windows Defender used in combination
