Again, not a huge saving vs buying new, but might be useful for someone who wants to buy one immediately and still save £20.

Glad I could help someone with this deal. Not finding a cheaper price at this moment was exactly the reason I posted this.

yimpster

whilst it seems expensive i can't find a cheaper place online. I know they are often this price new leading up to holidays. i needed one last week and decided to order this over a new one. I've given you some heat :)

loonyboyx

That's rubbish for 2nd hand goods

ChristopherJamesVallintineCarr

Sadly that offer is for select accounts only, with no mention of what the criteria is.

belch

Might be cheaper new on Amazon anyway, I get a £30 off code when I look at the Paperwrite there, think that the amount off varies depending on your Amazon account though.

Once again.... 10 iphones in less than 10 years... don’t look good

Mech65

Doesn’t seem like the best recommendation there. “I’ve had various iPhones since 2009 never paid for a single repair....... I have had various phones including MS based ones and android and never had to have one repaired. By the way the MS phone was actually very good. Windows on a PC may be abit so so but for phones it is good

Better than nothing I suppose!

Sean_Dowling

No luck.... tried it but they were having none of it Gave me a ten pound voucher tho!

Na.Talie

How did you get on? :)

Sean_Dowling

Brilliant stuff Natalie! I'm going to give it a shot myself 😃

Na.Talie

After reading these comments I decided to give emailing them a try, despite never been sent the offer for £50 Off, or any other offer, in the first place!! I have attached screenshots of the email I sent via the customer service form on the amazon website, and also the response I received back from them. The discount was automatically deducted from the final price and I am very pleased with myself for blagging a brand new Kindle Paperwhite for £59.99. As they say... “if you don’t ask, the answer will always be NO!” 😋

jak66

I believe if the voucher is valid for your account it will tell you on the kindle page about it, and don’t forget, like the bookworm codes from before, the upgrade codes have varying amounts of discount. For example, when I go to buy a kindle paperwhite, it tells me to use code UPGRADE50 for a £50 discount.

Aww. I'm sorry it's not working for others. I'm sure it wasn't there at first. It only appeared after I tried the bookworm code, then went back to the kindle page on amazon to browse the kindles again

ArcAndPie

The thing is, these "adverts" are actually just books that are relevant to the books you read (like same genre etc) and they usually give you a discount (special offer) if you like the look of them and buy it through the advert. I've bought maybe 5-10 books through this way, it's actually pretty good!

dunc360

It is so much easier on the eyes because of the different display. You can see it clearly in direct sunlight or dark and it just makes for easier reading than a regular tablet/phone screen I'm not a heavy reader but reading on the kindle is far more enjoyable because of that.

fishmaster

That entirely depends on what information you could be giving away, we need proof of concept that an attacker could gather useful sensitive information and synchronise it with your exact location.

ruffedgrouse

Ah yes, the mature approach to a discussion about security. For anyone else reading this who hasn't blocked me, all this person has done is prove that they're unwilling to engage about a subject they claim to care about. I find it very difficult to believe that someone who ostensibly "monitors their system 24/7" would block someone else who is encouraging good information security habits. And I question the technical feasibility of your apparent monitoring, by the way. As well as your previous claim that the Amazon Echo didn't communicate unless activated; the device still has contact with the server for common transactions like update checks etc. Honestly, I don't think you know what you're talking about. Why would anyone genuinely concerned about privacy post a video on YouTube? See the entire contents of the PRISM leaks. Or the slew of IoT devices (e.g. IP cameras) which have been very publicly been remotely breached for the last decade. And failing all that, surely common sense dictates that it's not a brilliant idea to have a device with 8 always-on long-range microphones sitting in the middle of your home?

fishmaster

Can you give us a reverse engineering example whereby your worst fears whatever they maybe could be realised?
