how is the quality of this and is it legal or would a fitter deny fitting it for you?
The guy said he had a small basin..which is why I said it wouldn't fit.
It's to do with backflow protection because the pull out part off the tap can reach below the to edge of the sink. Here is the link from Wras explaining more:https://www.wras.co.uk/news/wras_news/categories/technical_interpretations/mind_your_tap_gaps/
Connect your hot and cold up and then you're left with the black hose (which should have the weight on it) and then you screw that into the remaining (longest) copper pipe.
Never did any plumbing job, this thing have 4 "pipes" coming out, ok I see that cold / hot have a connection in my current system, but what about the other 2 pipes? Not sure where they go @_@
Collection also costs £16 I tried it. Thanks for the info :)
That particular Deva tap costs on average £120 so to get it for £30 is a steal. Or it can be collected from the seller for £14 only.
£14 + £16 delivery
This is a link to a genuine DEVA kitchen tap https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Deva-Vision-Mono-Kitchen-Sink-Mixer-Tap-Arched-Spout-Chrome/123399645553?hash=item1cbb312971:g:E~cAAOSwKBRaxTbT
May as well get one of these to replace the rubbish one we've got at the minute! Decent price for something you don't really want to spend money on.
@Daniboy many thanks for your tip, I'll give that a try. However, I fear that I have the problem that @eastendpark kindly mentions that there is some 'play' giving a wobble in the cold tap. Hopefully others have better experience as it's a nice tap but I'm not convinced it is built to last.
Had a similar kitchen tap from Screwfix which also developed this problem after just 2 years. It was the cold tap and we have really good water pressure (although the tap seems to produce reduced water pressure output, but that's a different issue). I didn't expect the cartridge to need replaced so soon. I removed and inspected and there was no obvious corrosion or damage, it just seemed have a wobble. Seemed like poor design to me, but I'm no expert. I tried a bodge with an additional washer which actually resulted in the metal of the cartridge buckling slightly. This actually stopped the drip, but now the hot and cold spindles are slightly out of alignment which looks a bit odd. I'll need to replace the cartridge, but I'd probably not buy it from Screwfix just in case. I contacted Screwfix to ask if it was expected for the tap to fail after just 2 years, but they just sent me the product code for the cartridge.
This one got good reviews too and £10 cheaper https://www.screwfix.com/p/swirl-tempo-mono-mixer-kitchen-tap-chrome/5321p
Have you isolated the hot and cold to work out which is causing the drip? It is probably the ceramic disk valve causing a leak. Will probably need a good clean or just replace the cartridge. Just make sure you order the right part, and turn direction
We have the same tap and it's good. However after 3 years it has started to drip. Changing the washer and tightening the tap hasn't fixed it. I'm not sure if I I'm missing something or need to replace the tap.
Yeah - same here - it was a seal.. as others have said - no point in trying to source a replacement. Change the whole tap. Did it myself.. it wasn't that hard, but you do have to be careful with leaks.
Just Remember this.. B&Q .. ensure all the parts are inside the box. I went to purchase a toilet intake valve. 5 in stock. All boxes open and missing parts. Worker took all of them away from the shelf. Good price otherwise!
Have seen this before, a seal in the tap will be leaking. If you dry around tap and turn it on fully, you may notice that some water appears around the edge of the tap. As sam800 said, it will be cheaper and less hassle to just replace it.
Would be cheaper to replace it with this tap rather than getting a plumber to check it out for you ;)
(skeptical) i have kitchen sink tap dat leaks from the bottom bit of the tap nothing to do with the pipes under (confused) ?anyone know why
doesn't your sink have a drain hole lol
The twelve year guarantee offered by Deva is good but it should be added that only the first two years include labour. If this type of tap is fitted to a modern thin skinned sink a reinforcement kit will be needed to reduce tap wobble.
It won't be the same make but as I said, we've had it for round about 2 years without issue......I'll probably get home to a flooded kitchen tonight after writing this.
That's a massive price difference The same one!?
Love costco but we got one of these from Lidl or Aldi about 2 years ago for around £15 and it's still going strong.
69.95 on Amazon and the cheapest Grohe I have seen anywhere. Nice tap
It's easier than you think. Go for it!!
We have this tap and pressure is fine. It does need adapters though.
Before buying check on amazon.de for other options and if not in a rush use 3camels
