Sonos one looks a lot better, is likely better, and supports Google Home/Assistant.

However with the Sonos One there's isn't full Alexa functionality - which may be the case with this smart speaker too.

Also although I haven't tested out the Sonos - all of these seem to have the inherent issue in that they can't hear you properly when music is loud - making them pretty annoying for music playback.

I'm thinking it's much better to hook up an Amazon Echo Dot to a decent speaker for example - then you can place the Echo Dot near you, and not where the music is playing.

My Echo Dot also hears me much better than my 1st gen Amazon Echo, even without any music playing - seems to have better mics or something

Main difference seems to be the output power and being Kitsound it's probably pretty decent quality too.

Wouldn't be trusting that comparsion chart as a quick read Google Home has bluetooth and you can use Deezer (both of which are marked as no). Didn't look any deeper than that to pick out anything further.

I took it back after and going keep the bextron , far better and got a tf reader
From what I can tell, Kondor LTD (the eBay seller) is KitSound. If you look at their address, it's the same as the registered address for both companies.

I bought a refurbished speaker from eBay and it crackled when it was charging, so I contacted them and I had to send it back with a pre-paid postage label and a replacement was sent out. Customer service, via eBay messaging, was second to none.

At circa £15 for the refurbished unit, it's pretty good value, but at £50 in my local Sainsbury's store, it is poor value for money.
I picked up two refurbished from an ebay deal on here a few months ago, I think they were £15 each. I find the sound output quite decent, it's well balanced with fairly acceptable bass (obviously you won't shake the room with the size of the drivers), the treble is never sibilant and the mid-range again is decent enough. A huge improvement over the Hive 1 which a friend has, which is very bass heavy - I suspect some of the negative reviews here are for the Hive 1.

The battery lasts about 8 hours and the NFC (not mentioned by the OP) works flawlessly - there's an NFC tag on the side of the unit and bluetooth connects immediately when you swipe your phone on it. Having compared it to the equivalent Bose model, yes the Bose has infinitely better build quality and I'd say sounds marginally better. But not £100 better.

Heated.
Bought 2 at £17.99 each from Kondor LTD on Ebay last December

Only opened one yet buy I use it every day and I'll never understand how anyone could give negative feedback on this item
The OP is correct in what Maplin say about the speaker output - but Maplin are wrong, this is NOT a 12 W RMS output speaker

Kit list it as 6+6w, without giving any indication of how that 6 watts is calculated, even in the manual. That nearly always means good old PMPO @10% THD.

If this give out more than 0.5 Watts RMS at less than 1% THD I will eat my hat.

Is it just me, or is everyone trying it on right now; I have found several other big name stores giving out dubious specs on music equipment.

I'm impressed with mine for the price - louder and fuller than I expected for the size.

My only moan would be that when you flick the power switch to on they play quite a jarring orchestral "hit" which nearly made me pap myself the first time I did it .

Not happy with that, also for me Bluetooth volume is so low, I have plugged a physical cable in from my echo dot, the problem I have I that the speakers turn on when there is a sound feed from that input. Possibly a good thing for some things, however not for the echo dot. Also the remote control is not particularly sensitive, you have to direct it to the speaker.
