Great starter guitar. Worth the price tag, owned one for two years when starting out and still regret selling it to this day. Might actually bite just for the meories

I think they look better without those gubbins. Nice clean lines

Possibly. I think some parts age it, which it’s supposed to.
Not having them makes it cheaper to produce.
I prefer the narrow neck as well.

Cheaply upgrade a few bits and you’d be laughing
Gah, if only they did one at this price with a single P90. I'd probably dip into the kids' Christmas fund and buy myself one.

I am pretty happy with it. Doesn't seem to be bad quality at all. The only issue i have had is the fret board seems to dry out faster than my other guitars but apart from that it's good. Mine is a 2016 model, hence the block inlays32317320-le3Jn.jpg

Roger that. The store is in Blackburn, and Reidys are reputable. Well worth the trip for those interested in this guitar. Would also allow £20-30 for a setup. Shouldn't have to really, but I think that's true of most guitars in this bracket right now. Maybe Reidys would do a basic setup as goodwill. Another £80 for a hardcase if it's going out the house at all.

Just bought a Schecter otherwise I'd consider it. Price is great for a fine example.
Must....have. Food and rent is over rated.

Looks good!

I've got a Gibson Explorer, but I would happily pick one of these up as well.

If you didn't like the sound, change the pickups. Most comment that build quality is solid and that sound out of the box with base pickups is great. If you wanted a cheap Gibson LP (ok, 'epiphone') then this surely is the one! sunburst looks a bit tacky, Vintage SB looks awesome though for a few quid more.

Or just put a few songs in the search with 'guitar lesson' on the end and you will get a load of tutorials. There are a few apps and free sites too - I like Songsterr. Harmony Central is good, or just search Guitar Tabs and you wlll get lots of sites.

I used to use harmony central, I didn't know they were still going. I use ultimate guitar now.

My musical tastes are heavier now.

The Gibson Les Paul is the typical Led Zep et al signature, thick, heavy rock sound. I got a Gibson SG after years of Fender Tele and Strat playing. It squeals like a good 'un when overdriven and sounds great for blues and jazz. I realised later how I loved Robbie Krieger of The Doors and Alice Cooper's early guitarists who used SGs so extensively - must have been a subconscious choice.

I suggest you watch a few youtube comparisons - there are a plethora. You will find the viewers ask about the amp setup, with good reason, as what you feed it through will account for a large part of the sound.

The good thing with Amazon is you can return with no quibble. I'm sorely tempted by the low priced returns on Gibsons. Whatever you chose, enjoy! It's not a chore, it's fun!
