That explains the lack of interest from the Lexar emails - that said ALL the British based complaints departments are bad and don't like living up to their warranties. Found in the past the best bet is to bypass the UK one and complain to head office if you can for any of the electronics. Worked for me with SanDisk and Sony in the past

Thanks OP. Ordered.
i researched a lot and got this for my parents who use this stick to carry karaoke songs. the read and write options are pretty fast and no issues.. good price this!
If you can wait, wait. They are regularly below this price at mymem as special discounts come round. Got two from them stuck in the back of a AP providing our music & video collection across the LAN. Seem to do the job

I believe both PNY, and Transcend Media are good too? (if I'm not mistaken?). :-)

I personally haven't tried PNY yet myself, but I own some Transcend stuff (and I've had no issues with them).

ISO rating is the headliner, but not sure how that actually works out in real life. 4K video - OK, Canon trailing there - we know that. But £5K camera with 20MP in 2017?. You know what? I'm delighted with my 5DSr - more than twice the pixels, for less than half the price!

The 5dsr is comparable to the D810, which is also cheaper. People buy the D5 for a reason.
12fps at full resolution and 14fps with the mirror up. Low noise at high ISO. If you already have many Nikon lenses, your not going to switch brand. Like me, have used nikons for many years as the lenses don't date as fast as the bodies.
Not everyone wants huge files which are not needed. D5 owners want high quality images which can be processed fast. I could say that the 5fps your camera does in 2017 is poor, but every camera is suited to different types of photography and budgets. Your camera has a shutter life of 150k frames, D5 is 400k frames. The new D850 costs about the same as your camera, has 45.7MP and can shoot 9fps.

If you want overkill then go for Sandisk extreme and pay well over the odds for little real benefit. It all depends on what price you want to pay and how you use the cards.

One the budget side this and the Toshiba U3 are pretty well matched. The budget range may struggle on 4k so if you don't want to take risks then go for better. Note that each card has its pros and cons. Toshiba for as long as I can remember have always been strong on read speeds but weak on write speeds. You will get better write performance on the Lexar cards. Sandisk Ultra and extreme and Samsung have been consistent all round performers.

If you are not recording 4k then any class 10 card will more than meet your needs.

so you paid £25 for something and that included free shipping, and they just listed £25 on the envelope, with no shipping value? I suppose at that price it's well over the £15 threshold. for things near it they could mark down the value by £2 or £3 and list that separately as P&P so the goods are under the £15

I'd be a bit annoyed if I had extra charges for the sake of £1 over the limit. I would have just got the one card instead. even though they may refund it's still a load of hassle and delays for the sake of a pound. hopefully it won't come to that but it's a lesson learned for the next time

Technically, that's true but you're really talking about very old devices / cameras that might have a compatibility issue. For a 2017 Nintendo Switch (or indeed, anything released in the last few years), there really shouldn't be a problem.

SDHC and SDXC aren't associated with speeds, they are associated with the … SDHC and SDXC aren't associated with speeds, they are associated with the volume of storage only, i.e. 64GB is SDXC, anything below that like 32GB is SDHC. Most devices nowadays are compatible with SDXC, but many older devices and low end devices might not accept cards above 32GB.In terms of speeds, and especially when looking for something capable of coping with Android's adoptable storage, you need something with UHS 3 speeds. To determine the speed of a card, using just the Class of it is no longer really appropriate. Just look for UHS 3 and you'll be fine. The Toshiba M302 microSD cards are UHS 3 and are quite cheap.

received my M302 yesterday and moved apps on to it. the apps load a lot quicker from the memory card compared to my previous Lexar class 10. a good app I use to benchmark is 9Gag, on my Lexar card the app would just freeze for a minute or two on a black screen before it responded (similar waiting time with Autotrader and other apps). on this M302 card, they load up after a couple seconds! thanks again for the recommendation.
