A couple of budget end laptops, which both have a 1366 x 768 resolution and an AMD A6-9220. There's £30 difference between the 127GB model and the 256GB, which isn't too bad. Both … Read more

Regardless, it's night and day in terms of screen quality. Text looks really sharp. I'd never go with a low quality screen again.

This one doesn't have a dedicated gpu so don't expect to play anything on it. (league of legends wont run well 30fps~

This is little better than a chromebook, and there are many chromebooks muuch better. Its only suitable as a web browser. And even then the resolution will hinder it - you will need to scroll around the screen to view web pages. Save your money and look for something with full HD, even if you have to save up a couple of months.

I am claiming this is my opinion for everyone else

Wow a whole 20% that most people will never even notice and nowhere near 20% anyway that's a made up statistic. 6006 is perfectly usable I've got 3 kids playing games on it right now. People whine & whinge but it's perfectly usable. Most people don't have something to trade in and if they do it'll likely be old & doesn't meet requirements like dodgy battery, worn out etc Can't understand why when challenged to find like for like better spec for same money or less you bring up something that has a prerequisite of a previous working laptop, really daft not even close to comparable.

So you're claiming youre right for everyone else? Nope

Decent customer that 6006 especially at this price point

no only the american version has Qi it has 32gb more and quad DAC audio over the poor european . version

I don't buy the carrier argument. iPhones don't have that issue, Google Pixels don't have that issue, it's just another manufacturer excuse. If they wanted to take control of updates they easily could.

Had LGs GT540, G3 and currently G5. All had updated within about a month of them coming out. It's not necessarily the company, but the carrier that delays it.

I think it's the US version that has wireless charging but no Quad DAC The HK version has Quad DAC but no wireless charging as long as you buy 64gb version or 128GB I have the 64GB HK version with Quad DAC. The sound blows every other smart phone I've owned right out of the water on a wired connection. It also has APTX HD wireless which isn't bad for bluetooth headphones either. I guess all versions probably have the APTX HD.

They've been about to release Android 7.0 for the LG G4 for as long as I can remember, don't trust what LG say. Until people have actually received the update on these devices assume it won't be happening.

Yep. Mine scratched everywhere despite being in a case.

Unfortunately that is not sold by Amazon. Wondering if they even give manufacturer warranty with that price tag

Still running a g3 here. Price on amazon for g6 is now £245.58

yeah I had the same issue! I have no idea how it broke, I've removed the shattered glass and put a tempered glass camera protector. Also my lower mic stopped working.

I had a g6 - the problem I had was the SIM card tray is made of soft plastic. It snapped inside the handset and the broken piece couldn't be retrieved preventing me inserting my SIM or an SD card. It a fairly common issue . Vodafone initially claimed that a snapped simtray wasn't covered by the warranty - but in the end they swapped my G6 out for a p10 (they've stopped selling LG handsets).

This or the Honor 9 for £22 per month (same 1gb deal)?

Great phone. Pathetic camera. If I had a chance I'd never buy this again. The quality of the pics are 2013.

£509 is a lot of money for such a mediocre phone. Having owned a few LG phones in the past Ive now give up on them. They realy havnt been able to keep up since the G2

Hmm. Still seems like the price does not match the data that is being offered. Plus it is a two year contract. I once used to survive on 2gb but my usage has gone up in recent years. Would it not be better to just buy the phone and get a similar only. https://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/lg-g6-bargain-369-with-code-ao-2920200

Yes it's not the best in the world, cheap for 256GB SSD though, managed to find some reviews. https://www.reevoo.com/p/hp-250-g6-laptop-2sy43es-n3710

Yeah they're crap and I don't mind saying that my deal was a bit crap considering how potato these laptops are in reality.

Looks the same as the deal you posted last year https://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/hp-250-g6-intel-pentium-n3710-4gb-256gb-ssd-156-inch-full-hd-windows-10-laptop-laptops-direct-31797-2841715 Would have thought it would be about the same speed as an Acer Swift1 albeit with a proper SSD instead of an emmc.

It'll be crap. The screen whilst 1080P will not be crisp, but washed out and whilst it has an SSD it will still seem laggy and horrible to use. A friend of mine recently bought a different HP model with exactly the same spec as this laptop at Christmas and it's definitely a poor experience. I would avoid, they're taking the p*$s with prices of laptops at the moment.

For surfing the net this will be fine. This has a Full HD display (1080p) so images will be a little crisper than with a std 1366 x 768 screen. Another laptop that is a good buy is this one: - https://www.currys.co.uk/gbuk/computing/laptops/laptops/lenovo-ideapad-320s-14ikb-14-laptop-grey-10169170-pdt.html? This has a 1080p screen also but it is an IPS screen so will have more accurate colours and a better viewing angle. This has 128GB storage whereas the deal posted has 256GB. It depends on what and how much you are planning to store on the laptop. Bear in mind that the OS and a few programs will probably take up around 40GB. The Lenovo is the better laptop, but the HP has twice the storage space.

https://www.ebuyer.com/805720-hp-250-g6-i5-laptop-2sy46es-2sy46es-abu Is this the same one for £60 cheaper?

HP? Thank you, never again. Poor quality, overpriced, unreliable, broken touchpad in all devices I've had so far both at home and office. Horrible keyboard. Slow even with SSD and i7 proc + 16GB ram. Dark screen, often even not HD but for the price like £600. HP is a joke for me. I am IT Engineer for 20 years and IMHO only ThinkPad or at least Dell. No Asus, HP and Acers. And I've used HUNDREDS of devices not 3 or 4 like majority of forums experts LOL.

Holy damn that's good

I have this exact one. Make sure you do the HP assistant updates and Windows updates. The HP assistant updates made my laptop go from using a percent every minute to now lasting a good 8 hours. Battery life still isn't great but took mine about 4 weeks to reach full capacity charge/hold. Great laptop, proper quick, boots to home screen in about 7 seconds.

I cant find any i5-8250 with SSD even close to £500 Cheapest I could find was https://www.ebuyer.com/818882-lenovo-v330-15ikb-laptop-81ax00cbuk at £600.

Whenever a work colleague asks me for advice on what to buy and they are usually fixated on the processor only - they have no idea what an SSD drive is or how it can improve their lives 10 fold! Nor do they understand the difference between 1366 x 768 and Full HD resolution (or IPS vs TN panels!). For an everyday laptop, I would take an i3 CPU + SSD over an i7 + HDD every single time.

Marketing plop isn't it! - there's not a huge difference between the i3, i5 and i7 dual core U series from what I can see..intel have just muddied the waters with their confusing range of mobile processors....but I guess it'll be a selling point as an i7 is of course better than an i5 (unless it's an i5 that is better!)

i7 on a laptop is a marketing gimmick. It's still a dual core! As someone already pointed out, the 8th gen i5 (i5-8250U) outperforms this i7 by some margin. But seeing i7 gives people a warm fuzzy feeling, such is the power of marketing.

I’m not an Apple fanboy despite owning a 6 s Plus. Thinking of going for a v30+ because of the sound quality reviews. I must say though the b&o dac made no difference to the sound quality when hooked up to my iPhone. I guess the iPhone sound quality is already way better than a standard g5 and as good as one with the dac

Laptops direct have been doing this deal for a few months now aswell as Debenhams Plus.

I think it’s HP stuff in general...., a lot of cheap plasticky hardware coming from there of late

Whilst the spec is good for the price, I've had nothing but problems with mine. Bluetooth is the least reliable I've had on any device, just randomly drops and doesn't recover unless you reboot. Multiple bluescreens and blackscreens (doesn't recover unless you physically pull the battery). I'm on my second one and still having issues. I'd keep well clear.

I like saveonlaptops. Used to buy for our company from them a lot and they usually had very good offers and prices were always competitive.

What's wrong with this one then? Haven't had an LG phone since the G2 that didn't develop a fault. G3, G4, and G5 all had problems. :( Still like LG phones mind. Is this one more solid?

I'm not keen on Samsung phones.

£15 per month (24 months), no upfront cost then I'll bite. (cheeky) I'm after the LG V30 also, as I cannot stand the curved display of the Samsung smartphones, that serve absolutely no function at all. They might as well curve it more around the back and top and bottom where you'll see even less and call it 100% screen/body ratio.
