Area is pure natural beauty. Stayed there last year and going this year too. Lots of beauty spots to visits, not all within walking distance, but each destination requires some walking to get to the beauty spot that you'll be aiming for once you've driven close to them. Generally if you're in remote areas of bodmin, your mobile internet will likely be very poor and the wifi on the property also likely will be extremely poor. Thats the only downside really.

Can anyone please recommend somewhere in the UK to holiday in the UK for a family of six in Mid August that is also pet friendly? Looking at spendding under £1000 if possible. Been going on 'Forest Holidays' for the past few years but fancy a change this year. Any recommendations would be really appreciated thanks :)

I love the south coast we use the sun holidays a couple times a year around Dorset Cornwall as we get it at crazy low prices via the deals warmwell in Dorset got a big log cabin for 7 nights for under £200 and the place is really nice

Thank you for looking it's much appreciated. I shall have a look on there and see what I can find. I was looking for August because of school holidays so not quite last minute but compared to booking months in advance it is (y)

For me personally I like nice clear water and surf, so Wales, Cornwall , Brittany or anywhere south of there. The English channel just doesn't do it for me.

We stayed offsite in a villa and had a hire car. At breakfast at home most mornings. I prefer the more laid back nature of a villa and trying all the non park restaurants. Save money that way too.

heading to carribean beach resort on may 3rd for 2 weeks. for 2 adults 2 children and infant cost us 4k with dining plan and tickets. with thomson. booked last june.

To do everything, I'd recommend 2 weeks. 7 days is not enough, you would feel you rushed everything but that might be plenty to other people.

Wow. So how long if you just want to do just the Disney parks do you reckon?

Thanks for the info. Thinking oh heading there for the first time. Were you staying in the Disney hotel whilst doing the other parks? Considering doing 2 weeks at Disney and then taking a couple of days to do universal.

You can park at various places near a Disney hotel then catch the Disney bus in or you could do when I last went and it was $18 or you pay the $154, just need the pound to get stronger against the dollar.

The new Avatar is great, however you wont be getting fast passes at this short notice so it would be a 4 hr Que, also the Disney express doesn't run from Sanford hence the car hire I assume, it would be better without the car and the transfer included as once there you don't need a car anyway.

7 days I would probably only get a two day ticket (one park a day) and do MK and AK - avoid HS as you suggest would cost around £180 for tickets pp would not do Universal on the same trip. 7 days is tight, but its a cheap trip

I wouldn't recommend 7 days for a first time Orlando holiday as a family. It will be incredibly intense and you run the risk of not getting everything done. First evening : getting to the hotel + dinner First Day: Epcot Second day: Magic Kingdom (DO NOT do this park Sat, Sun, Mon, it will be unbelievably packed) Third Day: Animal Kingdom fourth day: Universal Studios fifth day: Islands of Adventure sixth day : Disney Studios or anything you want to do again (Disney Studios is a building site with not much to do at the moment) Disney hotels have a really excellent, flexible bus system that runs constantly. For the Disney parks you'll save $20 a day using the busses. Expect to pay another £450PP for tickets.

Summer lodge £169.99 Toys r us
Wood floor extends to an atractive verandah area. All wood roof construction. Features two perspex windows and full height door. Dims. 131 x 120 x 147 cm.

They Were £149.99 last year. Be warned they recommend painting the parts even before assembly in the instructions! Really...... ? Also you'll need some felt for the roof as the kit doesn't include a roll. You'll need it as there is a large gap at the top of the pitch. Happy with it though :) Well worth the money the rubbish plastic ones ain't too far down price.

If anyone is looking for this in the South Wales area and can pick one up. I have one that I will sell used. I put a felt lining on it as well so it is in immaculate condition. It's also been permanently kept on top of patio slabs so the floor is also in great shape. Pm me with a sensible offer (all money will be given to my 6 year old autistic boy so he can buy some more toys)

Mine arrived! So... any recommendations for a good child-friendly wood treatment? I've already got a bit bucket of green stuff that I use for fencing, but it says "not for use on smooth or planed timber", which is what I would say the boards were made of.

half the 169?

Great play house just take your time treat the wood and paint before you assemble my son loves it. Use felt tiles for the best look

If you look often at night after 8pm on the toys r us website they do flash sales. Got mine half price. Decent houses no problem with ours. Yes you need to felt the roof. Delivery was fine with ours aswel :)

Good luck getting it delivered from Toys R Us. After a fiasco of not turning up when they should have and absolute abysmal customer service finally cancelled the order, even that was a nightmare. Maybe a one off bad experience but buyer beware!

Not exactly free though, just BOGOF.

I suppose if your car had a shower, bath, wash basin and toilet then you might have a point. If staying in a budget hotel then you need the bed to be clean and Travelodge usually get that right, A good functioning bathroom, which again they do well enough, and quiet - which usually depends on how considerate other guests are, and can be just as bad in a posh hotel as anywhere else.

This would have been perfect as I'm working late night on the 1st, 2nd, 3rd of Jan and will be a nightmare to get home... but just tried all the central London locations around these dates, and no deal :(

I think it's cute, but my cat Colin would never go in it as he's an arrogant old b****r!

Bought one in the Black Friday deal, finally found my cat sleeping in it 8 months later......because I threw her cardboard box in the bin! I would say the bottom bit is only suitable for kittens, my cat is pretty small but I think she would struggle to get through the flap

Bought one and had it together in about 30 minutes? Wasn't complicated at all. Cat didn't use it however...

You've not stayed in many travel lodges then...? The newer ones are ok. Basic, but OK. Its the older ones that are bad. Marston Moretaine (Bedford) and Rugeley (Staffordshire) are 2 that stick in my mind (our work uses them when i have to work away). Musty smelling, draughty and loud floorboards, not to mention the grubby shower/bath and dirty sheets.

Mum and Dads in March 2016 shame... Couples must be willing to participate in follow-up publicity arranged by Travelodge. Wonder what that involves?

So it is true what they say about the scots...

Thanks for this post as we celebrate our Pearl anniversary this year and being a canny Scots lass, well, I could not resist a wee freebie X)

i dont think i would of bothered to post if these mince pies were not up there with the rest, so yes they are award winning as ive mentioned and worth a try.

I bought these last year after all the buzz on here and found them pretty average to be honest. Each to their own i suppose...

Oh here we go again...Award winning! I think every mince pie and his dog has won some sort of mince pie award at some point or other over the last few years, also all the mince pie websites and bloggs are just utter tosh as everyone has there own tastes when it comes to which is nicer and so on.. I tried umpteen mince pies last year from different supermarkets and shops and the best tasting ones were some of the ones on bloggs that got either 4th or 5th place or were placed nowhere.. Just goes to show trust your own tastebuds not someone elses!
