We stayed offsite in a villa and had a hire car. At breakfast at home most mornings. I prefer the more laid back nature of a villa and trying all the non park restaurants. Save money that way too.

heading to carribean beach resort on may 3rd for 2 weeks. for 2 adults 2 children and infant cost us 4k with dining plan and tickets. with thomson. booked last june.

To do everything, I'd recommend 2 weeks. 7 days is not enough, you would feel you rushed everything but that might be plenty to other people.

Wow. So how long if you just want to do just the Disney parks do you reckon?

Thanks for the info. Thinking oh heading there for the first time. Were you staying in the Disney hotel whilst doing the other parks? Considering doing 2 weeks at Disney and then taking a couple of days to do universal.

You can park at various places near a Disney hotel then catch the Disney bus in or you could do when I last went and it was $18 or you pay the $154, just need the pound to get stronger against the dollar.

The new Avatar is great, however you wont be getting fast passes at this short notice so it would be a 4 hr Que, also the Disney express doesn't run from Sanford hence the car hire I assume, it would be better without the car and the transfer included as once there you don't need a car anyway.

7 days I would probably only get a two day ticket (one park a day) and do MK and AK - avoid HS as you suggest would cost around £180 for tickets pp would not do Universal on the same trip. 7 days is tight, but its a cheap trip

I wouldn't recommend 7 days for a first time Orlando holiday as a family. It will be incredibly intense and you run the risk of not getting everything done. First evening : getting to the hotel + dinner First Day: Epcot Second day: Magic Kingdom (DO NOT do this park Sat, Sun, Mon, it will be unbelievably packed) Third Day: Animal Kingdom fourth day: Universal Studios fifth day: Islands of Adventure sixth day : Disney Studios or anything you want to do again (Disney Studios is a building site with not much to do at the moment) Disney hotels have a really excellent, flexible bus system that runs constantly. For the Disney parks you'll save $20 a day using the busses. Expect to pay another £450PP for tickets.
