Check Ebay. A friend got one about 1.2m long for under £15

No,4milk crates will do

Maybe only 3 if you're tall
ScampiLamp4 h, 9 m ago

Do you need a seperate ladder to install these?

No,4milk crates will do
RedRain3 h, 35 m ago

Mine hatch is a plus up could i still use this

When following the instructions the ladder will probably overlap the hatch too much to push up the lid. I think the instructions said to mark at 30cm's I measured at 20cm's and this gives me enough room to push up the lid up into the loft space.

It does feel light weight (some might say cheap), but this makes it easy to push back into the loft and my 6'3" son hasn't broken it yet, and he's good at breaking stuff as he's quite heavy handed

Im sorry whos hurt now? Lol. I was only stating a point,u had to be an arse posting the pic acting like ur smart. Im nice if ur nice. If ur gonna be nasty i'll be nasty too. Have u always used things for the intended purpose in ur entire life? Not even once have u not? If u've already got some vinegar that will remove a stain but doesnt work as well as a detergent, just requires more scrubbing..then why waste money buying detergent when u will achieve the same with vinegar. Ok im stupid for not buying the correct type of ladder when i simply just needed a cheap one and will be putting it away for collecting dust after one or two uses. I can say vinegar's crap for the job, i can say when i stand on top of the loft ladder it feels cheap&wobbly, just like u can call me stupid too. And call anyone that uses vinegar for non cooking related things stupid. Call those who speed in inexpensive cars stupid for not doing it in a lamborghini. Keep judging

Have you been drinking the vinegar?

Anyone over 95kg probably won't fit through the hole anyway.
Watch out for the weight limits on these. I have a very similar looking one and max weight is 95kg. That's under 15 stone. Might not sound too bad but that will include anything you are carrying up/down too.

Edited by: "TedStriker72" 8th Aug 2016
Have a good look at the measurements, as when I fitted one I had to make my hatch bigger to allow for the pivot of the ladder. Might've just been a small hole though, I guess.
I`m in the market for a loft ladder & don`t want to go daft price wize, so cheers for posting.
There`s further info on fitting n stuff on the manufacturer`s site here

How much should it cost to get this fitted if the loft hatch opens … How much should it cost to get this fitted if the loft hatch opens upwards? Thanks

Yeah that's the only thing stopping me, having never fitted one before i'm unsure how much trouble it would be. Mine is just a sheet of wood that lifts into the loft no hinges etc.

EDIT: found this diynot.com/diy…25/ hopefully mine is just bits of wood attached to the inside of the hatch that I can prise off and move.

There are a lot of cheaper chinese stuff that have a habit of collapsing so worth ensuring this is fully compliant before ordering.

Not that good a price, I got an Abru one with side handle etc 2 section last year in B&Q reduced to £26. That's a hot deal! This one is ok but for a simple 2 section unbranded a hot deal has to be below 30 quid for me.
Hi guys bought this loft ladder through HUKD the other week and if its anything to go by it was an easy installation. Things to consider for people considering this kind of ladder instead of the timber one which folds away on to the loft door itself. Ensure you have sufficient space behind the loft door in the loft for when the ladder is just sat up there ready for use. Give at least 5 - 10cm either side of the ladder when positioning it and try and centralise it in the loft opening. Ensure you have measured the height correctly to ensure you have the right sized ladder i.e. floor to the top of the loft floor then add a bit for the angle that the ladder will sit when full extended out.
Installation is pretty easy just make sure you got a decent drill to drill the screws into the floor board and be careful of wires! Hope this helps someone and good luck DIY'ing everyone!

I'm not sure if its mentioned in the description, but does anyone know … I'm not sure if its mentioned in the description, but does anyone know how big your loft hatch has to be to accommodate this ladder? My loft hatch/hole is about 55 x 55cm, will this ladder fit it?

I don't think it will mate as it says the minimum hatch clearance needs to be 0.7m. We've two loft hatches and they are both approx 0.5m which kills this one for us too unfortunately. We don't have floorboards in our loft either (only insulation) which needs addressing for us first before we can even consider one of these.

Received mine yesterday but yet to fit, neat design and look forward to using rather than trudging the normal ladder through the house to access the loft.
Got this today, fitted it already. I'm very happy, thanks. I should have got one years ago. It is not heavy duty but sturdy enough for the occasional use it will get. It's a neat design.

Does anyone know if this must be secured into the loft in order to use it?

It will need securing at somepoint in the loft or it will just fall down like a normal ladder would, there should be 2 slide arms on either side that would suit.
Does anyone know if this must be secured into the loft in order to use it?
Great price..

Duty rating 100kg / 15.7 Stones

So be careful if planning to carry anything heavy or if you weight more than this!
