The Home office never miss a Saturday brunch. Shame of chain.

I haven’t been back since that sorry saga . Wasn’t surprised that they had to be bailed out last week, they would definitely have lost customers over it and have a smaller pool of staff to pick from.

I'd love to know where you're getting your prices from or why you're bring so biased. Yes, it costs more than McDonald's, but a Byron cheeseburger is £8, not £11 and it's a 6oz burger, so calling it small is again an exaggeration just to try to prove a point.

But if you think that's expensive for a high street restaurant, I'll put it in perspective for you. That cheeseburger has just under £2 of ingredients in it, which means there's a food cost of about 25%, fairly standard for a restaurant. A margherita pizza from the likes of pizza express, sells for around £8 as well but costs them less than 50p to make, yet people don't moan as much about it being overpriced. Then again, they're not competing with Macdonald's.
Honestly I liked the burger I had the one and only time I went and will be going. But Christ I don’t care how fresh the meat is to charge £14/15 for the burger WITHOUT fries or a drink is crazy and the place isn’t what I would call posh. They then charge a crazy amount for some potatoes deep fried and put in a tiny metal bucket. It’s a restaurant chain that makes fresh burgers and puts them in a bun that’s about it. That is why sadly they will go bust soon despite all the efforts they’re going too to save the business. I’m sure a high number of customer visit and never return after a rather expensive meal out.

We have this re released Lunchbox and it’s superb, just the same as the original. I also have the Grasshopper but need to build it up yet. Son got an FTX Vantage for Xmas, now that thing is a beast.

I plan to get back into it at some point and restore them all, i think i had a Schumacher Cougar too thinking about it although i'm sure thats in bits.
I used to stare at the Tamiya RC cars in Taylor McKenna as a kid. I wanted a Hornet so bad. I've tried to get my boys interested a few times but they won't take the bait. So I may just buy myself one.

I had the Grasshopper when I was a kid, great RC car.

I was never into RC stuff myself when I was a kid, but when my 10 year old hinted at a 'Proper RC Car' (somewhere in between the cheap £20 battery and mucho more expensive Nitro/Petrol) a few months before Xmas I figured the "Grasshopper" might be a good idea after seeing it mentioned on here and a few posters were reminiscing about how much they loved theirs when they were kids.

I ended up getting one from "TimeTunnelModels" as mentioned, who I have to say were great and gave great advice.

However, guess who had to build it on Xmas day?

A few days later, I took my son and his new RC Grasshopper to a play park, which had that rubberised floor and which was frost covered and he loved it! It was in fact perfect as he was able to drift his RC car around obstacles with ease.

The upgraded battery was a good idea too as we were there a good 45 minutes and the battery seemed to still ahve plenty of life left in it.

It did cost around £130 all in (with better battery/charger and upgraded controller), but was well worth it in my opinion.

Quite tempted to get him this "Lunchbox" too, but.........

£140+ with all the extras needed!

Not sure if the van body is initially white, but if so, then add in the cost of paint too @ £6 per item.

My local have removed all the Best range from this deal.
Zimmy2nd Oct

Did they? When? I had a hot steak pie on Thursday as part of the £3 deal.

Our two local stores removed all the £3 deal branding from the hot aisle and changed it to hot item + hot drink deal. When asked, a staff member said it’s no longer included in the £3 deal. To be honest because of that, haven’t tried putting it through the till, but will now thanks!

Cost cutting measure from them, so I stopped buying and bought in my own sandwiches for lunch after that.

Same, stopped buying from there even if it's nearby, they will only listen to your wallet.
I always go to Boots for the meal deal. Naked juicy by itself is normally £2+. And their chicken and tomato pasta is the best pasta.

Used to go Sainsburys till they removed all the good stuff for the deal.

Never gone to Morrisons for their meal deal as there are no Morrisons around.

as for ajeks suggestion, not all sites run walkons and not all that do run rentals with them. on another note, not all rental players will enjoy going up against people with their own kit. it's like pitting a newborn kitten against a full grown tiger in a fight to the death. not always fun for your average punter. for anyone interested though, as ajak said, nottingham skirmish will allow rentals to play and npf paintballs monthly diamond wars series npfbassettspole.com/dia…rs/

disclaimer: as stated above, you will be fighting against and alongside experienced players. do so at your own risk

Visiting Edinburgh this year - a beautiful city - I couldn't help notice …Visiting Edinburgh this year - a beautiful city - I couldn't help notice many homeless men and women. Given this, wouldn't Pret do better offer those without free meals as opposed to what is likely to take place, queues of well off/comfortable individuals wanting anything for free.

Pret actually do a lot of work with charities helping the homeless and for many years have given away their unsold food at the end of a night to those in need locally and even have their own Pret Foundation Trust which offers training and jobs. But you are right in that there are a lot of homeless people in Edinburgh. I was very shocked when I visited a couple of years back and was looking around in the Calton Hill Old Burial ground cemetary and actually saw sleeping bags amongst the monuments, it's pretty sad to see people sleeping rough in stone mausoleums in a graveyard.
If it works like the free coffee the Starbucks near this store did, the homeless people were in the queue like everyone else. Furthermore, some people like me actually got the coffee for the big issue seller since they could not queue.
There is no such thing as a free lunch
Cool if I set off now might get there in time
To be fair to PRET do distribute all their left over food to the homeless at the end of the working day. This involves using their own vehicles and staff to do this into the early hours. This is unlike some well known sandwich shops who don't.
