I tried these once too much faff and bits. Found milton and cheap asda bottles alot easier

Hotmeal

Found cleaning these to be a real chore. After moving to the Philips ones life became much easier. That said all wee ones are different and you need some luck! Good price for this starter set for sure.

Great bottles tried loads before these and bought it then again for my 2nd child. No problems x

The context of the comment was a reply to the one that colic is caused by incompetent carers. A struggling / uncomfortable baby is often helped by changing the mother's diet or the formula. Intubation is rather extreme.

deleted1835198

primarily it's up to the parent/carer to ensure that the baby is comfortable. Absolutely one should be careful not to introduce milk to a baby who is struggling because they are not comfortable Ultimately if this is the case then intubation is probably necessary. seriously, drinking is well within the capabilities of any mammal.

DibDab1

The context was newborn babies because that’s what neonatal nurses and midwives work with, and I was responding to that specific comment

jdRiggs

I don't know why the context is newborn babies, ours didn't have a bottle until 6 months and regardless of all the well intentioned recommendations and research in the end it is the baby chooses which one they like anyway. If they aren't taking your first choice you try another. Some kids don't take to the sippy cup or indeed solid food as easily as others so avoiding the bottle isn't practical for everyone when they return to work. Volume of liquid intake trump's all.

squiff

It didn't stop, it just never started! I tried day and night did yes I swapped muslin cloths with my baby so we could smell each other. I even tried two different medications which can increase prolactin levels. Nothing worked.

Just got these today and they are so much better compared to the tommee tippee ones. It's like night and day. No more dribbling and less wind, result!

Craiggers1990

Heat added. My 13 week old son takes these bottles after we tried him on tommee tippee and found they gave him alot of wind. These are fantastic and so easy to sterlise. Great find

masterpie

Love these bottles! Wish I'd used them with the first 2.

bla_and

Another recommendation from me, we used Dr Browns with our first and bought these for our second who is now 15 months MAM’s were so much better, much easier to clean and sterilise and still going strong now.

bepurple

Highly recommend these bottles. Been using this set since my 9 month old was born and they are still going strong. I've not even had to buy additional bottles.

Necrobump so apologies, when I tried to redeem this or look at the new every month offers it said I've already had a welcome gift and to F off. However I'm now pregnant with my second and wondered if anyone had bypassed this?

jjmmww1

Thanks just ordered 2 boxes of wipes to get this

jans

Good idea. I will contact them. Thanks for your reply.

emeralsplash

You should talk to amazon customer service through their chat option. My basket wasn’t working either and they sorted it out for me. Though I have to say this months deal of free MAM box isn’t that good. They have a new free gift every month. Last month it was 4 packs of Water Wipes for free. And I think the month before that was a free Tommee Tippee nappy bin. So if you don’t need the baby stuff right now I’d say wait till next month and see what they offer then. Unless of course the MAM stuff is useful for you in which case ignore me and go right ahead !

jans

Do you know if this promotion has been pulled by Amazon, Taty? as it doesn't seem to work for me. I created the baby wish list from your deal link yesterday and added the MAM Baby box but I didn't have time to complete it and didn't finish adding the rest of the items to the wish list. I've come back to it today to finish it and added the appropriate qualifying items all specifically sold by Amazon from the baby store to the wish list and then added more than £20 worth to the basket from the list including the Baby box. Had to choose free delivery option as I'm not a Prime member (could that be why?) and all the items are scheduled for the same delivery date as far as I can tell but the basket is showing full price for the Baby box. It. Do you have any idea if I'm doing something wrong as I thought the promotion was running until the end of September.

summer_scent

Also you need to make sure you firmly push the bottom rubber element in the base too

summer_scent

Yes I had some leaking issues too. They seemed to be at the top rather than the bottom of the bottle. Then I started pulling the nipple up after putting on/ tightening the lid to check for any gaps and often even a really small gap would be enough to make the bottle leak. I did this every time and never had leakage again.

Rumana03

i've been using MAM bottles for 3 years. only recently a couple of the bottles starting leaking from the bottom (where its screwed on). i think mine developed issues from using so much because the rest of the bottles are fine. your ones were probably faulty

poopoohead123

Never had an issue unless I didn’t screw them on properly!

colour_chameleon

I’ve never had an issue with leakage in almost 2 years of use

I think grey may have been more, blue pink and white were on offer. I considered getting more but decided it was enough until now and should limit myself otherwise I just leave them going off and then worry if I haven’t cleaned them well enough (skeptical)

Fatchops11

White and pink always the cheapest and most on offer of the MaM brand, grey is always the most expensive, Followed by blue. You can never have too many bottles

jamhops

Not really doh the statement is perfectly correct as was information. It’s the same product and price, 4 was enough but if you need 6 obviously go for 6, my point is that if you don’t need them urgently and only need 4 then a 4x2 pack is almost certain to go on offer again.

Fatchops11

Not even the same deal, that's for 8 bottles. D'oh!

Ah see that's where I'm going wrong. In my house we have two types of crockery. Things that go in the dishwasher. And things that go in the bin because I've put them in the dishwasher when they shouldn't be.

dwillis49

Can make the bottles go sticky though. 3 mins in microwave with 20ml water as per mam instructions and good to go, after initial detergent clean of course.

dwillis49

Order at current and then request a refund of old...

deleted249798

Just put them in the dishwasher. Plenty of people have swabbed dishes after a dishwasher and they don't grow any bacteria in a petri dish. If they're not growing bacteria in a warm petri dish in a couple of days, they're not going to grow anything in the milk either. If it helps the hospital I work at is a regional centre for cancer and transplant patients. Many are on immuno-suppressant drugs and some need to be kept in isolation. Yet... their crockery is shared with dozens of other patients and washed in a dishwasher. Really not an issue. Both of my kids have survived without anything being sterilised.
