Looks like there's some availability again - 3 adults make it the best deal. End of Nov costs £256pp. Use code LATE50 and it comes down to £240pp. There's also a £50 Quidco bonus cashback with TUI bookings until tomorrow so works out about £223pp once cashback is factored in. Amazing deal. Where's the best place to book excursions whilst there? - looking for cheap and cheerful. Quad biking, camel riding, dune buggy riding etc. Are there any places just outside the resort to book these kind of experiences? TIA.

Erm not a bad hotel. Rooms were nice. Food was ok, nothing special. Entertainment was mediocre, mainly for children. We went at a bad time in January as it was the school holidays for morrocco and lots of kids there. Only one pool was warm enough to get in. Other pool was being repaired however must have been fixed by now.

Cool, thanks! Is there anything else we should know about the hotel? It looks really nice but read conflicting reports!

Sorry only just read your message. There are shops down the road from hotel however not the best. Go to main town and there is one supermarket where they drop you right outside of. The rooms in hotel were amazing

It is but it came to £860 for us both :)

I wasn't talking about human singing you idiot - it was like an air raid siren played via speaker. I could hear them through the windows with noisy aircon on (ninja)

Sounds like typical Friday night in Liverpool

It it helps, the other airline I will never fly with again is Air France; terrible customer service, I (and thousands of others) missed connections due to lack of staff on duty at CDG, and a lack of urgency in the few staff there were (taking 10 minutes PER PERSON to print out boarding cards after the automated system broke - I queued for about 4 1/2 hours to reach the TWO staff manning the desks); they lost my luggage, lied about losing my luggage, gave me a fake lost luggage reference number and refused to compensate me for losing my luggage (missing for over 2 weeks). On the other hand, KLM, Virgin and China Southern have given me great service when things went wrong.

Well, I'm going to give my opinion based off what I have experienced/known from friends/family - they weren't the only things that happened, just some of. I think the place is disgusting. :)

I don't think that's typical of a visit to Marrakech. In fact, I'd say that's pretty unique and just really bad luck.

Personally didn't enjoy my time in marrakech, I liked the hustle and bustle of the markets and seeing the square come alive at night, but the very hard sells in the markets were just the worse. I don't even look like the generic tourist but damn do they cling to you. 3 nights is probably long enough for marrakech, the locals in agadir however are far more chill and laid back.

Yes, I explained that yours was useful. Hence I know what an opinion is.

More an observation to be honest based on a trip there. Each to there own, my taste doesn’t necessarily dictate what others should do. It’s an opinion, you know what one of them is do you not?

Keep slagging it off then, please :D

Thank you for the advise, however I have been twice before, I know they are very cunning. Will be on guard. They specialise in harassment :)

Yes lots of nice things to see. But strong advice, reject everything anyone offers you. Even if you think they're being nice or friendly or you think it's complimentary. Trust absolutely no one and keep your phone and wallet firmly secure. My 7 inch tab got pick pocketed by some young kids as I was getting on to a bus!! Same pick pockets end up in France and Holland. The smiles and friendliness is all fake. Old people like kids and offer them sweets. Don't freak out at that. I'd accept and just errr not give them to you your kids if you have any Go out into modern new Marrakesh and it's completely different. No tourists and almost no con artists artists. Cool monied people hanging in modern cafes

Thanks, looking forward to it. Reviews on tripadvisor are great too

I'd go one further and say do not trust ANYONE but yourselves when on holiday there. Believe me no one is your friend. Everything was a scam or a con. Even the hotel concierge was at it!! Selling you trips with his mates. We got to the airport after agreeing a fee only to be told its double. I gave him what we originally agreed and walked off. Trips would always end up with stopping past many shops selling tat where they are extremely nice to you (cups of tea etc) before they hit you with an extremely aggessive sales pitch so you feel compelled to buy something and won't let you leave. Of course when you don't buy something? Yep you guessed it, you see the real them and you revert back to being the scum of the earth to them.

There may be a lot of dishonest people, but it's not full of them. Generally you can't trust people there and shop keeper's are aggressive. There's a lot of pick pockets too. However the word full is an exaggeration. It's definitely not a dump. There's plenty of dumps in England too and plenty of dishonest pepper too. Marrakesh has the world oldest university... Older than Oxford and Cambridge, and Al azr. Dumps don't tend to have that..

It’s just like getting on a bus. You don’t expect champagne and caviar( well I do but I’m not going to get them

Exactly, don’t expect a luxury service for a cheap deal. But will they get you to your destination? Yes in most cases. Of course every airline has negative events which impact both the businesses and clients. But as mentioned above, if you keep your expectations humbled, then offers like this are a bargain and you’d be grateful. So sit back and enjoy the beauty of Marrakech :)

I have flown with Ryanair to Marrakech 6 times in the last 8 years, never had a problem with them. If you read and follow all of the instructions they provide, then you shouldn't have a problem. Ryanair are cheap for a reason, they don't provide the best service and you need to expect this for the price you pay. If anyone wants recommendations on where to stay in Marrakech, then drop me an message, I will be more than happy to share my thoughts with you of the best places to go and stay in the City. At this price it is a bargain, might just have to book another flight.

Never been in the winter (apart from Rabat in January which was warm in the day but freezing at night) but as marakesh is in land I would think it would be warmer. Definitely check out Essaouria if you like Morocco (easyjet do chea0 flights from London Luton if you're south) And no I'm not an easyhet employee! Just worth seeing

Sorry, yes, I got the decimal point in the wrong place in every single figure - please move it two places to the right. No, I dont work for any airline, but I understand Easyjet is slightly better than RyanAir, although they share similar "baggage is extra" philosophies.

There are some great places to stay with very good reviews on AIRbnb from £12 a night, I'm very tempted, thanks op.

Went to Marrakech for a week in February and loved it. Would definitely recommend it. Stayed at Riad Zayane which was incredibly lovely and excellent value. The staff were absolutely wonderful.

I was there two weeks ago. If you only have hand luggage don't bother with the airport express bus to the centre. Get the number 11 for 28p (4 dirhams) each way a few minutes walk from the airport entrance. I stayed in Riad Sahara Nour in Marrakech. Quite hard to find due to Google maps being inaccurate and leading to a street that was blocked at one end. Ask shop keepers in the medina if you get lost as they won't hassle you for money for directions. Essouira is nice on the Atlantic coast. Game of Thrones fans will know it from season 3. I got a CTM bus for 60 dirhams rtn from Marrakech to there. You can book online if you have good French or Arabic. And use your printout to collect your tickets at the bus station. Loved it there.

RIU also can quidco cashback which i've used before :) takes around 3 months to pay out.

+1, much preferred Agadir...far more relaxed.

I went to Marrakech on my own. It's a great value destination and the food is great too.

Went just before Christmas and really enjoyed it, people are really friendly, prices are cheap and there's certainly plenty to see. TBH I found the city itself a bit tacky - a lot of the stalls in the Souks are selling exactly the same Chinesse tat you see on markets in the UK but make the effort to go to the lesser known bits, like the stalls doing metalwork, and it's amazing the genuine craftsmanship you see them using right in front of you.

Sounds an awful lot like Manchester.. :p

Really. From manchester?

I've been to Morroco a few times over the years. It's always been one of the most relaxed Muslim countries and still is. The big touristy cities like Agadir, Marrakech, Tangier and Fes are swarming with police and guards who are all pretty switched on. The country revolves around tourism in these areas and is far less strict than some of the countries further east. The only thing to look out for are the constant scams (especially in Marrakech - assume every conversation is a scam, it usually is) and the men can get a bit attached to western woman.

Any pineapples to push or trees to shake?

hey it will be fun ;-) i plan to go to Agadir from Marrakesh.. it will be a nice experience

Sorry just caught up with this...! My pleasure, I love the riad and am happy you enjoyed it too. And I agree, Noureddine is also the best host I have ever had at a hotel or guesthouse!

I wanted to thank you for your recommendation, we really had a wonderful experience. Noureddine was one of the most humble people I have met on my travels! It was such a pleasant place to be after a crazy day, everyday!

Hope you have a great time! I would take the taxi option offered by the riad as hard to find the first time in the middle of the old medina area... some great staff there (best customer service I have experienced in a low-cost guesthouse). And don't forget to eat once at the riad and once at Dar Tazi restaurant 5 mins walk away - the best 2 meals I had in Marrakech.....bon apetit!

After much research, I finally booked this riad and I went for the Salaam room. I ended up going through expedia for £100 for 3 nights and 12% from quidco made it a better choice than booking directly. Shukran!

Cheap Holiday, for couples, family, solo etc. Maybe a glitch.

I was in Marrakech for Ramadan last year and everything was fine. The hotels still served alcohol and the shops / restaurants were still open as normal. Even on eid itself. Much the same as you will find in any predominantly Muslim areas in England. Don't let it put you of going at this time of year, it will be fine. The biggest problem is the heat. It gets tremendously hot at this time of year

Is this deal still on? I'm not really good with booking holidays so I ain't sure whether the deal is still valid or not. Thanks in advance!

I've been 3 times now and loved every visit. I've stayed for 2 weeks before and there is plenty to do. We hired a taxi for a day and drove up into the Atlas mountains. There are a few historical sites to visit which we found via buying the Lonely Planet guide before we went and all within the medina so easily reachable. I've stayed in both a Riad in the Medina and also a 4* hotel in the new town. Also if you wish to drink alcohol, there is a supermarket which sells it (to foreign tourists only) which we went to by taxi. On the negative side the locals hang out outside it and try everything to get you to buy them alcohol, don't as it's not allowed.

twenty three pounds is about twice what a taxi would be. prices are fixed to the main square or other areas. buses are plentiful and really cheap too.

Where's stanstead?

I was going to book this until I read the Tripadvisor reviews on Riad SACR. Although there were decent reviews of the owners, these two comments in particular (on top some of the comments here about Marrakesh generally) put me off: "It is not as advertised. There is no bar, no restaurant, no complimentary transport from the airport, no spa, etc... There was very little (5 minutes) of hot water for my shower. There are no locks on the doors to the rooms and no safes either. " And from a senior reviewer: "Booked this based on the reviews and the description, Bar , restaurant, steam room , terrace NONE of which existed. No door locks which could be of concern, to get in you need to ring the front doorbell so as the bolts can be thrown and the door opened, not so good if you are sleeping and someone wants to come in. You will NOT find this place without a guide, even if you use the taxi transfer as this drops you off outside of the medina walls. The staff were really helpful however I should have preferred the website description to much the reality."

I would say don't stay near the medina the hassle you get is inbelievable we stayed at the Kenzi Menara palace about 10 mins drive from the centre hotel was lush just do a trip in to the centre there's an aqua park hotel not far from there too which looked good to stay in if you are taking little ones. We were also warned about eating food in the square only for those with strong stomachs I think!
