Yeah they would have been better to use a more breathable waterproof fabric.

maybe the plastic layer is for waterproofing as getting liquid on memory foam damages it

That's a good point, no I haven't but I shall now! I found it definately more comfortable to sleep in the summer with the new matress (I got it at the end of 2018, so last summer was the first), but I also got one of their duvets as part of the deal and that is definately less warm generally than it says it is.

Have you tried it with and without the protector? Got offered one when I bought the mattress this weekend but my feeling is that one of the reasons you go for a slightly more expensive memory foam is for the cooling added, and of course the foam. Adding a plastic layer and extra fuzz seems to limit the effectiveness of both those things?

It is a bit plasticy but it goes away after a bit.

Just picked mine up - came on same day delivery apparently. does seem pretty sturdy so we'll see. better than the other one i had that was basically made of tissue paper.

Complete rubbish, very thin, ultrabounce is very misleanding, honestly don't waste your money.

Bought 2 singles and a king size in the sale and was disappointed, there is no bounce let alone ultrabounce, very thin. I didn't realise when I ordered online that they were not the elasticated type like a fitted sheet. Couldn't be bothered to take them back so they are now spares, but doubt I will use them.

I once read that these things are good at stopping the accumulation of skin and beg bugs in the mattress over time.

Bear in mind this is 100% waterproof which means it’s not breathable so in this weather it’ll be hot & make you sweat. I suggest looking for one with cotton filling.

Careful with the paper-like sides, very easy to rip through with your fingers - doesn't seem to be made from the same stuff as the top.

Late update: i had been contacted by this company and they said it have been made an mistake with my order. They sended me another duvet set by mistake, so offer to sort the things out. They sended an waterproof mattresses protection to replace the missing one from my set. I choose to came with this update, because i choose to be fair and not to let just my first bad comment about this seller.

Totally unacceptable. I will never order again from them.

Was going for this, but checking the first 2 pages of reviews on Amazon, not a single prerson gave it more than 1 star! Apparently, it is really thin, and made of paper/tea bag type material!
