The MTs in this game were blown well out of proportion. You could get new orcs through gold or silver chests. Silver chests were bought with currency you got constantly in the game. By the time I reached the grindy bit, I had so much silver I could replace all of the dead orcs, automatically kill all enemy captains and then just do the next mission. If they're getting rid of the free silver chests as well, which is implied from what they've said so far, then I wouldn't want to do the shadow wars again.

It’s not a grind fest. Transactions are not required. Amazing game. Game of 2017 for me.

No, once micro transactions are fully removed in June they’ll be patching the game to tweak the system to make it less grindy. They made you grind 3 times more than necessary in hope you’d just give up for the end game stuff and buy your way to the end.

It seems that they are making tweaks to the gameplay, too: FAQ - removing MT

I loved the first one, kinda weird in that the game got a hell of a lot easier the further in you got, once you could brand orcs you were pretty much invincible. Didn't find it that repetitive really, was in keeping with the theme

Ha, Why cant things be simple... Buy a cart insert a cart - play the full game... "T'was better in my day".... Mumble mumble...

It's a left over pre-order version, think it was the worst "special" version available at launch i.e silver, gold, platinum editions?

So is this basically a game of the year edition? Or is there content missing?

I bought the original to, I want the steelbook 😔

typical, just bought the ordinary version for £19.85 from base.com on Monday

I just bought it so time will tell.

Will get this next time it's on. Playing Witcher 3 at moment, a few hours in but combat is pretty crap compared to shadow of mordor, and voice acting isn't a patch on mass effect. Hoping it grows on me...

I know this has expired now, but just to chip in. This is a great game IMO. Literally finished the main story line today after sinking hours upon hours into it just building up the armies, etc... End game is too tedious for me as it's alot of grinding. But overall a great game and I'd definitely recommend it if you enjoyed the first.

Will wait for GOTY; the first game has destroyed my trophy list. Got platinum then they release DLC at the same price as the GOTY edition ended up which creates a separate trophy file so not wanting to be ripped off on DLC or play the entire thing again I am left with 72%platinum.

I am suprised this has MTs lol.

Stick Of Truth still redeeming on the Microsoft Store. Thanks Buzz. Got one from eBay then realised could have saved 52p from the Amazon listing! Haha

Being in the woods was the most annoying part of the stick of truth. Grrr can still hear those German zombies years later (mad) enjoyed playing it though (highfive)

They taken them down now?

thx OP (pirate)

They are basically brand new. The discs are pristine as is the box (As they send rental games in their own cases) and any codes in the boxes WILL be included. The only thing you haven’t done is pulled the wrapper off.

Same here. Heat for the price anyways.

Shadow of Mordor was one of my favourite games and would've been all over this but (and correct me if wrong) I've read the last chapter required a lot of grinding (which I don't have time for due to having a life...or actually kids which means I don't have a life ), but hopefully the July update will correct this. Will probably wait till the update is our first

they are in July but not until then. I'll wait till that has happened and see if price has dropped a little bit more nearer that time.

Even more tempting as they are taking out the loot box nonsense out and re balancing the endgame.

No longer this price on PS4!

No wonder, doesn't exactly roll off the tongue (lol) I had to fight to get my boys name, Max was too much like a dog apparently so I went with Maxwell Lucas, I won 😁

Lol probably... although I've drawn the line at the name Celebrimbor (lol)

Would this not push him toward the name even more (lol) same characters 😝

Heat heat heat! Hubby desperate to play this after the last one. If I buy it for him maybe he'll stop insisting we call our first born son Talion... (annoyed)

Many people liked and most reviews were positive ignore that trolling fool.

Personal opinion I guess I love LOTR and The Hobbit films so the game is perfected for me, has the combat and engagements I wanted it to have from the first and super enjoyment, currently addicted to sea of thieves now

This game... I enjoy games also just not this (poo) .

Happy to be the minority who enjoy games

The game, I would say the response to it was overwhelming negative so you enjoying it puts you in the minority.

Is it worth waiting for a game of the year edition?

Genuinely don't think i will ever finish this game. There is a brilliant core game there, and the fighting is always fun. But its just way too big. Like, i have anxiety about playing it as i know im unlikely to ever complete the core game, let alone the absolutely enormous extraneous castle owning meta game.

I'm curious as to what the dlc contains. Tried Google, no joy

This is Shadow of Mordor - the first game. £12 for it is a bit of a "meh" price. The game advertised here is Shadow of War - which is the second game, released late last year. £19 is a good price for it.

Thanks OP, another one for my list of shame :)

Another 8.99 to go. Maybe in a few weeks at this rate.

Different game....

I haven't finished it yet but I still haven't had to spend any money and you can earn it in game. Which is where the problem comes in from what I've been told, there is a 'true ending' that requires excessive grinding made easier by spending money.

I haven't spent a single pound more, than when I bought the game on release date. The main story is you can complete without paying any extra. Fantastic game, would highly recommend. Loved the first game, but this one is even better.

What's everyones opinion on this? I heard it's pay to win if you want to get anywhere?
