Really good price for thermostatic electric shower!

Heat from me good price for a Mira shower

What I'm trying to figure out is it better than a 10.5 kw considering it's rrp

I don’t know why peeps are pulling this apart and sending it to Siberia? I have had one for years and it’s survived. So heat from me (highfive)

Good find. Next cheapest seems to be Amazon at £133.99. heat added.

To check the cable (T&E) chances are you'll have to go up in the loft and measure the cable. Google your shower make & model number to find out the rating if you don't have the manual. Assuming someone hasn't fitted a higher rated one already.

Yeah, 9 - 9.5 max. Trouble is you probably have 6.0mm T+E from that to the shower. I would be looking for 10.0mm for a higher rated shower. Don't take risks - nothing worse than your house burning down when you're in the shower (embarrassed)

DOM40B6 which i am guessing is 40A so up to a 9-9.5kw is that right? Can you upgrade these to higher? The problem we have is the current shower can't heat the water quick enough but it is a crap titan. This is my first experience with electric showers so not sure what to expect from something like a Mira

Check the rating of the MCB labelled 'shower' in your distribution box.

Thanks, anyway of telling what the supply is capable of? Just moved into a house with an electric shower which is crap. Looking at upgrading before getting a mixer.

Similar but different shower on Amazon , going by model number on photos. Not saying it’s any worse or better, just different.

Still a good deal mind you. Much more expensive elsewhere.

The new Pro model (Babyliss Pro Steamtech BAB2665SE) has been 93 EUR at its cheapest earlier this month, now at 97 EUR. http://www.amazon.de/Babyliss-Pro-BAB2665SE-MiraCurl-SteamTech/dp/B00T9QM0NQ Apparently the steam function makes curls last longer and is better for the hair. Video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MGVwmKMlmMg Order Summary Product: EUR 97.00 Packaging & Delivery: 6.29 EUR (Total amount: EUR 103.29) Invoice Total: GBP 81.62

How to spot a fake https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=86SS258UODo (warning, Aliexpress, DHGate etc have "Babyliss" branded fakes for around £10, be careful buying from third parties, I'd buy from Amazon themselves or a trusted retailer only). Other ways to spot a fake Curl Secret: Check out the box - genuine packaging is sturdily built, thick cardboard, precise printing/colours, embossing, no spelling errors. Genuine Babyliss comes with a Warranty Card or Leaflet (mine, and the instructions were in a clear plastic bag). Egg crate carton top and bottom, inside the box, as protection with the real thing (though some fakes have this too). It should come with a curl chamber cleaning tool (two-pronged tool like this): Fake Babyliss have "Babyliss"-stamped silver metal ring, near the cable - real ones are blank. Genuine Curl Secrets have good weight, counterfeits are light and build quality/finishing is poor (eg, Babyliss print wears off quickly - typeface looks "off", poor casting, thinner plastic - when you tap it it feels shallow, edges "rough"). Cable is thinner on the fake versus genuine model. If your hair gets caught with the real one, it automatically stops, preventing any damage - counterfeits apparently don't have the safety cut-off facility. (About the Miracurl but applies to this model too) http://geekgirlmanila.com/2014/05/01/babyliss-miracurl-review-demo-and-authentic-vs-fake/ The authentic one… … heats up much faster. … curls better and the heat feels more regulated so I am confident that my hair won’t burn. … does NOT snag your hair. The authentic one has a safety feature where the curler stops sucking in hair when there’s a snag. The fake one does NOT have that feature. I found my hair being caught in the fake one one too many times. … does not emit a burning plastick-y smell. The fake one does and this was the ultimate reason why I decided to invest in the authentic one. I am deathly afraid of fire and burning so every time I curled my hair with the fake one, I was so paranoid that it would just burst into flames or explode! I would actually turn off the fake MiraCurl in mid-curling to make it ‘rest’. With the authentic one, I could curl continuously and I was confident that it wouldn’t turn into a fire hazard. In use, be sure to comb each strand before each curl, makes life a bit easier :)

WTF? A shower with a remote control? What in case you're sat on the thunderbox, and the missus is in the shower but has no free hands to adjust the temperature?

What happens if the remote control batteries fur while you are showering? How do you turn the water off?

This shower on that site is £440, so it gives good indication of the level of discount available here.

looks like its back up to normal price, I got it when it was £197 a few weeks back, which I thought was a great deal, this would have been a superb price! Good shower, the airboost function is far too noisy though

You'll need 10mm, not 6mm which is sufficient for less powerful showers. Get 10mm and go for a basic 10.8kw shower from a decent brand. They need replacing once every few years and the more gadgets on them, the more to go wrong. Obviously that's my opinion anyway...

if it was 10.8 watts you could use speaker wire XD its 10.8kW

I have the 8.5 version of this and it is excellent. Can only imagine this being even better. At this price it's a no brainer.

Just make sure your electric circuit can take a shower as powerful as this. You may need to upgrade the circuit. I had an issue where the previous owner of my property fitted a shower more powerful than what the wiring could take. It burnt the pull cord switch and also 12 inches of wiring. Not quite sure wether it was 6mm2 or even 4mm2 wiring it was running on, but it was dangerous. I had to fit 10mm2 wiring and never had an issue after that. If you know nothing about any of this always consult an electrician.

I got one of these the other day and it works great.
