HOTEL - YES MARRAKESH - NO hotel was amazing, staff were amazing, food was lovely and overall loved it.....step outside the grounds however and its a different story...harassed by locals, offensive gestures towards my girlfriend my perverted men, lost count how many times people tried to rip us off/ rob us in the first 10mins of been in Marrakesh center.

Went here in September was incredible, had a better time than all the 5 star places in turkey i have been recently. highly recommended.

Genuinely last year's Halloween outfit... Was wondering how I'd ever use it again. Thanks for the top tip! :p

Sorry I didn't get to see your question until after the deal expired, as I was away on the weekend. Many of their deals are really excellent, but all time limited, so suggest you sign up for their email newsletter and just keep your eye out. Once you have an account on their site one nice feature is that they do have a world map view showing all current deals geographically. Thanks to this 1st post Voyage Prive are now also an approved HUKD merchant, so that should help people post any of their deals sooner to initial (normally 5 days) offer window in the future. For info, via that map view, they currently seem to have 2 other coastal Morocco and 3 near Marrakesh deals at the moment on 31st Jan

by the way I would have gone chuck norris on them with my hairy chest ;)

Morroco Agadir Flights 7 nights Bed & Breakfast £114 @ Teletext Holidays
Found 6th Jan 2017Found 6th Jan 2017
came across this holiday deal in teletext holiday bloody cheap!!! 4* hotel flights and BnB included seems a good deal

And what a queue it will be! What with all those immigration checks. Of course, once there you'll find Sterling worth about 80 cents to the Pound. Bargain!

We went through Agadir on way from Essouira to Taroudant (coach then taxi from Agadir). Didn't get a nice impression of it, taxi drivers were fighting over us like sharks over a bit of best rare steak - still Essouira (and Taroudant) are lovely and only a short ride from Agadir, so you could use this to get to either. I think often the more touristy the place, the less pleasant the people there, seems true in Turkey too, seem often to be better a little off the beaten path.

I think the USA and UK should go to Iraq, Afghanistan and Syria for a holiday. Oh wait, they ruined those countries to create western owned central banks.

I can remember browsing holidays on teletext tv thinking it was the future :D

What does that have to do with anything? I could probably find many, many examples of brutal killings and murders in new york, some just as macabre as the crimes against humanity committed by Isis. We're talking about Agadir...

If I had a choice in how to die, I'd prefer it wasn't being beheaded by ISIS on tv.

You're such a tough guy. I've never seen such strong words typed before. My hero. Actually, you're a muppet. I holiday with my wife and child. Valuing their safety makes me neither cowardly nor pathetic.

Well... Nowadays Morocco is safer than Europe apparently! No terrorist attack or radical assault in Morocco for the past four years... Check however Europe including Britain...!

Make sure you don't walk onto a busy intersection as you may end up DEAD

I would rethink your country identification. Mauritus is an island off the east African coast. Try Mauritania. However the country threat assessment for Morrocco would still make me think twice about going as a tourist.

'Whereas in Britain they expect nationals to respect their foreign laws and customs'. No doubt your racist brain includes those born here as foreigners. So what foreign laws and customs have you been forced to respect by the 'foreigners' over here? Do they make you eat their halal food, wear their dress, etc. I very much doubt you have any respect for those you regard as 'foreigners' no matter what they have contributed to this country or for how many generations they have been in this country. Im pretty sure all those countries you have listed are not going to lose any sleep over you not visiting. I for one am thankful you wont be visiting!

Thats exactly why you'll stay a miserable git till you drop. Its a place, with sand, heat, artifacts ranging thousands of years, hash, food and tons more crap you've never even heard of, but your stupidity prohibits you from even WANTING to visit such a place because of 'the people'. One sided egoism...great!

The old town would be great for day visits, and during the evenings they have lights and music good for older children, but I think to stay overnight would only be suitable with older children. The hustle and bustle doesn't stop till about 1am I find. I'd look at one of the hotels on the outskirts, I'm not familar with them though as I've always roughed it in one of the £3 pppn riads (basic, but clean and a comfy bed). I'd watch out for the tours or 'excursions' too. Marrakech is basically in a bowl surrounded by the Atlas mountains. If you want to get anywhere it's a 3 hour drive through winding roads that may be unsuitable for children.

Anywhere in particular you would recommend me staying with a baby. Thanks

Yep we are saying the same thing Simon, so much misinformation out there. Australia reckons there is no "Severe" threat in the UK and our Govt thinks there is. Keep searching you may find a different narrative on the American Govt website.

From the foreign office website: The threat to the UK (England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland) from international terrorism is severe. Guess you had better follow the advice and leave the country simont

5***** £106 for 3 nights

I got as far as checkout and it added £6 something per person and I aborted because that charge is almost what the original post quoted for the whole flight. £8 would be fine return as the original posts mention on holiday pirates etc, but that unfortunately went to double pretty fast - I've been to Morocco before and by the time I personally factor in getting to Stansted, parking, taxis, hotel etc you can go to plenty of other good places for the same money and not be hassled in the Medina to buy carpets and pharmaceuticals - It'll only be 11 degrees anyway so may as well go for a Christmas market type holiday. If you haven't been to Morocco I'd highly recommend at £20 if you can still get it -Do be prepared to be hounded in the Medina to buy things, but that is all part of it :-)

For those who are saying Morocco is no more risky than the UK I need to point out if you go there you will be at higher risk than the native inhabitants as terrorists will target white people if they choose to attack during your holiday. Morocco is also a largely muslim country and so will have plenty of Al Qaeda and Isis supporters

I've been to Morroco a few times over the years. It's always been one of the most relaxed Muslim countries and still is. The big touristy cities like Agadir, Marrakech, Tangier and Fes are swarming with police and guards who are all pretty switched on. The country revolves around tourism in these areas and is far less strict than some of the countries further east. The only thing to look out for are the constant scams (especially in Marrakech - assume every conversation is a scam, it usually is) and the men can get a bit attached to western woman.

Any pineapples to push or trees to shake?

Oh don't get me wrong, I loved Morrocco but I dislike busy markets and shopping so Marrakech probably not the best place for me! The hassle got a bit much. I also stayed at a riad, right in the Medina in the centre and it was a haven. It had a roof terrace with a plunge pool and it was heaven after the souks.

I think they said that about Tunisia!

Not much to do in Casablanca (apart from seeing the Mosque), Fes is really nice but quite similar to Marrakech. Have you thought about driving up and over the Atlas Mountain towards Merzouga? You can have a 2/3 night trip in this area if you wanted to see more of Morocco.

Been to Marrakech and Agadir and both great holidays....can't wait to go again !

A huge tip for walking around the medina in Marrakech without a guide is that Google maps works without WiFi so you can navigate around easily, just say "ok maps" whilst viewing the maps online and it will give you the option to save offline. Also, only change a small amount of currency at the airport, you can get up to 5% more in the kiosks near the medina and jema el fna

I would say 3 nights in Marrakech if you want to fit in all the main sights I listed earlier and an extra day for Ourika Valley/Atlas Mountains which is around an hour's drive from there

This is not true, I have been to over well over 100 ports on cruises and have only taken the ships tours a handful of times. Occasionally I get tours in the port but mainly we just jump on public transport/taxi's and go it alone, sometimes spending only a few pounds each to sample a new country/city. It well worth doing your research before you do this to make things easier however tours are not essential in most ports.

Comment Haha ok , would u say travel sickness happens if you travel less thats y ? Even in a car

Unless you want to sit in your cabin all day, you need to budget the same amount again for tours!

More than you would expect even with all the stabilising systems in place...could be psychological....would be for me I think. Probably more sick with the bugs that seem to affect cruise liners.

A good deal but remember Morocco is a Muslim country and as such: The Moroccan authorities have warned of an increased threat linked to the growing number of Moroccans belonging to international terrorist organisations operating in Syria and Iraq. As a result, increased security measures, including additional security personnel may be visible in certain areas. Attacks could be indiscriminate, including in places frequented by foreigners. You should take sensible safety precautions and maintain a high level of vigilance at all times. In April 2011, 17 people were killed and 25 injured in a large explosion in Marrakech at the Argana Restaurant in Jema el Fna Square. There is considered to be a heightened threat of terrorist attack globally against UK interests and British nationals, from groups or individuals motivated by the conflict in Iraq and Syria. You should be vigilant at this time
