(topcashback deal) buy the moto g5 for £109 go through topcashback to receive a £45 sim activation bonus essentially paying £64 @ giffgaff

Go through topcashback with the sim activation bonus deal of £45, buy this and pay just £64. You can obviously do this with any phone on the website.

Same situation top c tracked at £5 not £45 activatec the sim last week.

my giffgaff has not changed to £45 even though I activated the sim yesterday when I received it, how long does this take? also can I sell the sim with the goodybag as ill never be using it?

Hi - thanks OP for posting. Does this topcashback offer for GiffGaff come up often? Also are they a good company to deal with for returns etc. and final question would this cashback work with the Nokia 3310? Would appreciate your advice. Thanks.

Activate the sim online yes, then do whatever you want with the phone.

Do I need to activate the sim on the same phone or I can activate the sim online, and put the sim on any other phone and gift the new pone to someone.

Oh I meant to say, leave it 24 hours and then call o2 to cancel the sim, whatever you do, don’t call carphone warehouse, they will cancel the sim for you but they will also send you a bag to send the phone back to them. If o2 ask you about the mobile tell them it was a sim only deal, don’t let them fob you off as you have your 14 day cooling off period.

I was trying to work out how to copy and repost the link the guy put up for the deal you and myself and others got as people were asking me to, but I couldn’t work out how to repost the link. :/

Mine was delivered today... 19.99

Same on TCB but they offer a highest cashback guarantee meaning they will offer more than quidco (y)

Quick update for you and everyone else on here, the P8 lite upfront cost has now gone up from £30 to £90 overnight. The next phone I can see that will work out for £30 is the Nokia 3.

No problem m8.

Excellent yes bud would get the P8 as you say better phone... Many thanks for your help

It doesn't have to be exactly 24 hours, I'm just that because that's how long I left it when I cancelled my sim, but I would do it no later than 3 days after you get the phone, that way you know your still within your '14 day cooling off period', also I would get the huawie p8 lite 2017 for £30 upfront instead of the Moto G5, I have it and it's a much better phone.

ahhhh found it. Will i be able to call O2 weekends to cancel just in case the 24hrs falls on sat or Sun

Got one (from Argos), can confirm. The update situation is appalling (surprise surprise, the usual problem with Android unless you get Google's own handsets) but it's an otherwise impressive little device for the money. Definitely makes you question whether it's really worth spending 4-10x as much on flagships. Plus with being cheap you don't worry yourself silly about breaking or scratching it etc.

Yes, they do.

Don't they take a MicroSD card? Same price at Argos. Tempted as a second phone. Just about to become 2 generations old though if you count the G5S...

Potentially only £94 from GiffGaff

I'd be genuinely tempted by this if it wasn't for the 16gb. I'm on that now and getting constant warnings that I'm reaching the limit, so much so I've been deleting apps regularly.

Much faster with a better quality screen and camera but it's not a UK phone therefore if anything goes wrong your on your own. I bought this model for my mother and for her it's perfectly fine, however I find it to be frustratingly slow even when browsing heavy webpages on Chrome. I've found in general the 400 series processors are not great for heavy use and it's always worth paying a little bit more for a 6xx based phone if you can afford to.

for more 30 pounds isnt the Xiaomi Mi A1 much better?

They constantly drive me nuts, thanks for the feedback

Useful and informative comment based on actual experience. More like this and fewer one liners with no explanation would be good.

Unlocked (Sim Free) Motorola G5 £109 + £10 top up = £119 +£25 Quidco cashback for a Genuine Sim activation with new phone. Potentially = £94

The price has just dropped on this one! It is now: £109 + £10 top up = £119 Think that's the best deal for this phone out there at the moment

Interesting, I'd not spotted that. They are doing the £45 offer again. I think it's cashback and bonus is referring to the amount over the normal handset cashback. In face the way it reads almost suggests that you'd get the £45 on top of the standard £5!

TopCashback are offering £45 "cashback” but it lists the offer as “SIM Activation Bonus On New Handset Purchases“. I am guessing that this means they put £45 on your account? It’s not entirely clear whether they will do this or whether TCB will simply give you £45 cashback to your account as normal (which is what I thought “cashback” was). Anyone else have an idea about this?

I bought it a year ago for work and as car navigation. Battery is excellent and it works ok with Tomtom. I drive in London and abroad and never had any issue. I didn't know it doesn't have compass. I don't use NFC.

Yes it works fine with Google Maps, there's some more info here..

Best was the moto g, had the moto 2nd gen only lasted 2 years but for the price what can you expect

Unfortunately, it has limitations. A lot of apps (including all google apps and most bank and financial apps) still won't allow you to install them on a reformatted adoptable storage microSD card and can only be installed on the phone's original internal storage so it's not quite as integrated and seamless as you would like to think it is.

None of the phones i've had supported it so never knew!

This use of a microSD card as 'adoptable storage' feature came in with the release of Android 6.0 Marshmallow back in 2015.

Has anyone managed to get a memory card to work in the G5? I have an English G5, and bought a Sandisk 128Gb class 10 A1 Card. I have formatted it in the phone and it's reported as corrupt. It's a common problem on the G5 and the G5S. I'm hoping the Oreo update due soon will fix it. I've looked all over different forums for an answer, but have been unable to find one so far! Can anyone help?

Aren't these just the regular prices?

Yep UK charger. band 20? Means nothing to me soz!?

This or p10 lite?

At the moment, are selling these for €219. Even with the Euro transaction fee on a credit card, it should come in at under £200. I bought a G5S plus for €195 from on this deal

Great phone. Got this last September on Amazon pre-order for £200.82. Looks good, runs well and feels premium. This smartphone really does hit the sweet spot in terms of price, quality and specification. Android Oreo update due soon. You can spend a lot more on a phone, but in terms of pound for pound value, you get diminishing returns.

It was in stock earlier. I luckily got an order in for the gold version.

What's so difficult to understand here?? G5S and G5S Plus, simple. This G5S phone is actually surprisingly fast & smooth,a decent performer when I tried one as is the camera too. Camera on this is better than the G5S Plus. Using the same SD430 CPU as Nokia 6 i found the Motorola much smoother

Only seems a few months since the G5 was released! They really need to slow down, they're already diluting/confusing their product line enough as it is (skeptical)

Just added the G5s to the basket and applied the code, still works. Not expired (the G5S Plus is oos though). If anyone still wants to use this it seems to be ok....

They will all start going out of stock and/or being sold off cheaply once the G6 series is released (about 5-6 weeks from launch).

indeed, you also cant swap the sim on the go either because you need a little pokey thing to poke the sim tray out, I guess you could attach it to your keys, but you shouldn't have to really, just a badly thought out design IMO.

The CPW deal has now been pulled so no longer a cheap buy...

I've got my phone now and I'm very happy with it so far. The spigen case is a must as it's thin and is quite slippy. I would definitely recommend the p10 lite if you can get a good deal on it. I don't have any concerns about it breaking.

Hahaha! I do seem to drop my phone with alarming regularity! I think the fact that it survived so many times made me a bit complacent. I might be better off looking at another option then. XD Incidentally, got a chance to play with a P10 lite over the weekend. Owner was happy with it but had cracked the back after a drop. He now has the Spigen case and it looks suitably protected.

I know what you mean, I'm a fan of the Moto phones of the past but I've ordered the P10 lite. I'll be buying a strong case for it... A lot of people are very careless and blame phones for breaking rather than themselves. If you regularly drop your phone curved glass isn't for you! I'll let you know how I get on.

For me it's that extra GB of RAM in the p10 lite. If you have around 250, that's why I also mentioned a second hand one plus 3 as it has 6GB RAM which makes it a total beast.

OOS (mad)

Got one .looks absolutely new . great camera on it

Bought this same phone from Argos on ebay earlier this week. It came in a plain brown refurb box, not an original box.

I have the 3GB version and it is a very good phone for £100. No NFC, and using the sd card for storage makes the apps a bit slow to load, like Spotify takes ages to load my library. I'm using a very old SD card though. Also, sometimes the fingerprint scanner does not do anything, not sure that is due to some apps I have installed which are interfering.

I thought the 3GB version was an Amazon UK exclusive and the O2 deal was for the "standard" 2GB version?
