HJC CL-ST Motorcycle Helmets £39.99 @ Busters
I just got an email from Busters. I wanted to buy one of these earlier this year but were too pricey for me. The RRP these helmets are £120 so a saving of 66%. They have styles … Read more

What a load of ***** spoken there!! Have had shoei's and Arai's. currently using a RX7RR4. Noisy, mists up, drafty when it's cold causing tears in my eyes! Have a HJC as a pillion helmet! £140! Fantastic helmet. Exubes Quality! Has breathe guards and all sorts that the Arai does not have. Now looking for a HJC to replace my Arai with! The £40 bargain is not a £40 helmet you fool(Sicknote)!!! They are market leaders in the biggest country in the world! If you get it wrong there..you are fu**ed!! Anyway sicknote, you spend £500 and enjoy it..me, I'm gonna save a **** load and have a great helmet for not much...and put the savings to a holiday! Regards everyone!

I've not used my Gixxer for a few years now - I bought it in Hong Kong, some 11 years ago and it's been a great bike as well - you'll probably notice a few modifications though (if you clicked the autoshite link?) ... still in progress but was put on hold when I moved to the USA in 2001..:whistling: I'm sure it's only done 32,000km as well, which is nothing for these engines.

- Shhh, no-one will notice. - Wow, a genuine little piece of Scot/British biking history there. - He he he, I used to have a real thing for X7's (I had 3 of the little b*ggers), great bike. In fact I used to have a thing for 2 strokes in general with several mates with RDs & KHs (I never had the Kawa triple myself but I've owned the whole range of Suzook GTs at one time or another - excepting the 750, which my brother-in-law had). Had a nice stint on RDs too, air colled & LCs......but my bro stuck with the 2 strokes the longest & had 2 x RD500 & 1 x RG500, boy does he wish he'd held on to 1 of them now. Now I have a deep & meaningful (and lasting) love affair with my Gsxr 1100w. The last of the monsters! :w00t:

gtd65

Bit of a threadjack going on here I suppose...:whistling: Yeah I also had an S reg KH250 triple and in 1990 bought Steve Hislops old RD250LC - which my mate has totally restored to factory condition - still with Steve's (RIP) name on the V5  got to be worth a few bob I think? Here is a link over at Autoshite with my X7  ]http://autoshite.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=3344

LOL Yeah, the rivalry between the FS1E boys & the AP50, great days. Then on to various 125s, 185s, 200s & 250s - all on 'L' plates & you never had to worry about taking your test in a set time-scale. Lots of 2 strokes back then too, KHs, GTs & RDs. Brakes that didn't like working too good in the wet & tyres that lasted but were hard & made out of plasticine (Avon Speedmaster 2 anyone? :whistling:  ). Nice times. :)

Looking to buy a mini chopper bike for my son I need a phone number so I can buy one can u plz send it phone number plz thanks

DaveB316

Guys these things are not in the same annoyance level as a mini moto, these are quiet and fairly slow, not much faster than a push bike really. I dont have and have never had either, and neither have my kids... but i personally would allow mine to use one of these were as i certainly wouldnt allow them on a mini moto. Just personal choice i suppose, but people moaning about these not being taxed etc...come on! its a toy! do you want to tax bloomin pedal bikes too? (dont answer that you probably do!)

pibpob

Possibly, though I imagine it's the cheapest DC motor and lead-acid batteries imaginable.

monkeydo

Saw two families have Christmas, and probably the rest of their lives, ruined after buying a mini-moto. The child who'd been given it lent it to their friend who promptly rode it out from a side street and into an oncoming car. Needless to say, he died. Both children were around 6 years old. We were indoors a 100 yards away but we heard the bang and rushed round. It wasn't a pretty sight. If you want your child to ride on something fast and fun, take them go-carting to somewhere with a good safety record. Hell, you never know, they may become the next Lewis Hamilton! It's got to be much safer and the initial outlay will be less, though possibly more over time if they get hooked, but they can pay you back when they're famous! ;)

As i was once told by a police motorcycle rider if the content of your head is worth 30 pounds then spend 30 pounds on a helmet. All helmets meet the minimum of the current standard...and thats fine if you want the bare minimum between your skull and the tarmac. I do understand that of course brand names are going to take advantage but the way i see it im paying for their R&D programs. That ensure im getting the best technology to protect what little skull content i have from potentially horrific reprecussions. i mean sure the 200 pound shoei is going to differ very little from the 500 pound shoei because as you say the extra features that do not affect safety like vents, removable lining etc but you first have to reach the level of a 200 pound shoei,.

krunchynutt

Surely all helmets meet the correct standard, when you pay extra for a top of the range arai or shoei you are paying extra for 1. the name. 2. lower weight. 3. extra features which will not affect safety.

not hot... seriously a motorcycle helmet is one of those few things its best not to try cut corners on.

I'd like a satnav for my bike but it looks like the Zumo 500 would be what i want ( has blueooth headphones support) BUT i just thought, i could probably get away with a normal sat nav if it had a headphone output and just stick the sat nav in my pocket? then i could still hear the directions and save myself a wad of cash?

rhinopaul

You can buy universal mounts, so it would be possible to mount a car sat nav to a bike. The major differences is of course the waterproofing also the screen is designed for use with gloves & there should be an audio output to connect to an intercom.

rhinopaul

Thats ok I didnt think you was, I was just offering an alternative.

sicknote

Is there a major difference in the bike & non-bike unit except for the weatherproofing? What about the mountings, is it possible to mount a non-bike unit on your bike?

sicknote

Sorry, I wasn't knocking the post and it is a good price. It just strikes me as a bit pricey when compared to the non-motorcycle format.

Another frustrated car driver who is jealous of the traffic jam busting abilities of motorcycles. Probably the sort of person who closes the gap to prevent motorcycles filtering through, then sits smug in his Rover 75 feeling good that he has stopped another "suicidal idiotic young lout" getting to his destination quicker than himself. Get a life!

Uridium

well ranted :)

rheumatoid

I expect you are old, wear a flat cap and drive a volvo or skoda. you are a danger on the road an pull out in front of motorcyclists. You probably think they ride quickly and are irresponsible because they overtake you when you are working on forming a large queue behing you at 30mph on a major A road. Motorcycles are involved in lots of accidents because they are not seen - NOT through their own stupidity (except a small group of young or 'born again' bikers). The consequences of accidents involving them are normally serious because they are vulnerable. There is no evidence that accidents are related to speed - just the consequences tend to be worse. I would put money on the fact that their vulnerability and awareness of other traffic makes them safer riders/drivers than most people who have never ridden a bike. I know I look for them when you probably don't. Rant over. r.

guerilla

you'll probably find more motorcyclists deaths are due to car users with no consideration for anything else on the rode!

kyalion

Oh I do hope Mr Jeremy Clarkson is reading this. Love to get his opinion again on cameras, speed and death on the roads.

Exactly my point - and looking at the inside leg measurement for this, it is a kids bike. Personally, I believe that many kids will love it, and why not, that's what they do, and that's the sort of thing they go for. And when I was a kid, somebody wouldn't have got bullied for such a thing, others would have been jealous. Although I suspect in todays world it'll mean it gets nicked, or they get mugged for it.

RedOnRed

In fairness it's not really that much different to the massively popular Raleigh Chopper bike that I had 30 years or so ago. There's no point looking at bikes like this from an adult's point of view.

jasonrat

dont worry dont think anyone would nick this bike

RedOnRed

Blimey, I take it you're from Leeds. Is it that bad there?

theleedslads

Had about 5 bikes as a kid and every one nicked! Tried chaining em to concrete posts in shed etc, but still managed to nick em! My last one was a Ralleigh Activator, after that got nicked, i got a Megadrive instead with the insurance money, and erm.... got fat! haha! Pretty sad eh?!
