That some of their new services have had cancellations is something to take into account. I'm not saying I wouldn't take that deal if I wanted to go to NYC, but I'd want to know the risks and possible downsides.

I think thats the point pay more for more. I guess till we know the price of the these so called alternatives and get a real comparison its just saying this is not a good deal. But the deal says it's not much baggage and it maybe no frills but if it ticks your boxes at the price its a good deal. But i guess to moan about the price would be worthwhile if people had a example of a so called better deal. The ones ivr read arnt making points just moaning hence my comment. But this site is all about helping others find deals so would be great to know what price difference we are talking about.

The point people are making is you can fly with Norwegian or Thomas Cook to JFK for not a lot more and the product both offer is vastly superior. Norwegian don’t charge much if you want a meal or hold bags, thomas cook fares maybe slightly higher but include both. If you are really ok with hand baggage only, no food or entertainment and non existent customer service book away. The main factor for me would be what Airport was most convenient at either end, Gatwick, Manchester or Birmingham in the UK and JFK or EWR in the USA

That is a fantastic deal - nice find !

I landed in Newark a few yrs back, at the airport there are shuttle coaches every 15-20mins (free or a few dollars) that take you straight into NYC. Or if you spend a bit more for a faster journey, you can take train or Uber as someone else pointed out.

Very expensive destinations once there.

you a Star well done .....

I can totally relate to that, you wouldn't believe the number of conversations we've had about hitting the road again. Or completely relocating somewhere warmer - but then I'd have to give up on m daily check-in at HUKD. XD

This was basically my intention to see that it is affordable to travel the world if you put the effort in, I myself have travelled a fair bit as well the worst part is being back home and just wanting to do it all over again straight away :(

Visited all these places separately spent alot more on flights. Great price.

If it seems to good to be true, it is. Crap outfit with origins in Latvia. No interline arrangements either when things go wrong (and they often will

It isn't actually that cheap. The fare price of your actual seat (price minus taxes and fees) at current conversion is ~£46.92. A quick search for a Virgin Atlantic return leg flight shows a fare price of £49 and BA £57.

Good luck traveling to New York on a one way ticket!!!

Yup. I lived in New York city. Does that count?

Booked, under £600 for 2 with XL seats flying out Thursday, back Monday. Thanks

not with Uber

Newark is a perfectly reasonable option for New York. Certainly at least as good as Gatwick is for London. As bozo said, take the train. Traffic through the tunnels can be horrible if you try to go by cab/bus.

Is that called a "good deal"?

So many good deals from Cairo, I recently booked a first class seat from Cairo to Guangzhou with Emirates for £2200!!

Suppose if I happened to be passing through Cairo, wanted to go to New York and then return to Cairo this would be a good deal

Italian carrier Meridiana is rebranding itself as Air Italy, part of an ambitious plan to overtake perennially troubled Alitalia as Italy’s top global carrier. Meridiana’s rebranding and growth strategy is being helped by Qatar Airways, which bought a 49% stake in the Italian carrier airline last year. The effort to become Italy’s top carrier comes as Alitalia, long Italy's biggest player in aviation, is yet again facing an uncertain future as it reorganizes under bankruptcy protection.

I saw some flights from Sofia bulgaria to Dubai for a ridiculous £60 return in the coming months of course excluding summer holidays children are off. Many airlines fly to Sri Lanka from UAE like Sharjah for like £120 approx. Kiwi is a good site that will allow you so search regions then book direct with airline.

sorry to bring this thread up again - how would you recommend flying from UK to Colombo, Sri Lanka? I'm just amazed how you found all those obscure routes at the impossibly low prices..

I've booked this flight but stupidly did not realise that there are visa waiver restrictions on people who have visited one of 7 Muslim countries even if they have British passport. Had to apply for a visa but it could not be approved so now I'm in black hole of administrative processing. Don't think I'm going to be able to make this trip at all as this process can take up to 60 days so I need a miracle to get one in time. Certain airlines allow name changes (eg the flight from Honolulu to Sydney). Please PM me if you want me to transfer any flights to you. I know majority of them are non transferable.

Amazing deal! I did three round the world trips last year like this and have already done one this year. Love these bargain prices, will definitely be booking this up! Me luvs a holidayy!

Much x 3? haha. Not for me.

Much, much, much better that Warburton thins.

A bagel a day :) never heard of this before - thanks for sharing.

Absolutely love my bagels. Probably have at least one a day! As my Jewish friends say, 'A bagel a day help keeps the Rabbi away!' First had them in NYC. The ones we get here aren't the same. Someone asked about the Warburton ones. I prefer them - for toasting. If eaten untoasted, then I would go for these ones. :)

I eat the Warburtons thin bagels (especially the sesame which seems harder & harder to find) most days but really didn't like the NYB Co. thin bagels - seem underbaked with no taste plus you only get only 4 in a pack compared with 6 in the Warburtons. I do however like the NYB Co.Bagels normal size as per this deal, just a shame they haven't worked out how to do a thin version as good as Warburtons.

I have the first watch pictured, the "Melissa" watch (rose gold coloured face) bought from Argos ebay last year for around £13.59 (variants of this style, also in two-tone, were £12-14ish for a while, alas Argos no longer has Caravelle in stock - they had the pink face Caravelle New York 44L223 but unsure of price). Apart from it being "Boyfriend-style" (oversized) which annoys me a bit when I'm typing - I really like it. I'd even push the boat out and say that I think it's a bit better made than my Michael Kors watch, which I was gifted around Xmas. The Chrono function works, it's maintained its gold finish well (something many MK purchasers moan about) and looks much more expensive than the price paid! Caravelle are, of course, owned by Bulova/Citizen, I'm sure you know that already.

This may not be a popular point of view but I actually think the Caravelle (by Bulova) watch I have is better made than the MK I was gifted at Xmas (I would, actually, have preferred an Orient, but don't tell him that!!). Before anyone asks, yes, the MK is real, I am very particular about authenticating.

Yes, hired a car from Manhattan. The journey about about 1hr45mins.

If ever a deal was to be nominated for it’s subsequent wealth of poor comparisons and misinformation, this is it. ;) Whilst Newark into the City May be 30 Minutes and Stewart into the City 60 minutes longer, this time saving and much more can very easily be wiped out when one considers the average time taken to clear immigration upon arrival at Newark and Stewart. This is based on several family members having made a number of trips to New York for family gatherings, departing both London and Edinburgh.

There are no insurers that offer unlimited American medical care. Most offer 5-10 million which is more than enough.

£210 - Return Flight (London - New York) Flight In Jan/Feb 2018 (Indirect) via Austrian Airlines @ Momondo

Cold, can be done much cheaper with the purchase of wood and materials to fashion a canoe with, the short walk to a west facing beach (max 100 miles, c'mon people) and a relatively short 6 month paddle to New York and you get to see the statue of Liberty close-up, result ! 6 month paddle back and a leisurely jog home over another week. Only over a year return, but look at the saving! Seriously though, New York is one of the most expensive cities in the world. Also one of the best to visit, so why would you give up an extra 34 hours of your life sitting in an airport lounge rather than flying directly and also being k-nackered from the schedule. Colder than a cold iceberg (which you also get to see on my canoe trip) ! Oh and just realised 2nd 'offer' leaves Stansted, returns LHR, why would you?

Not that much extra, about £50 a day. Works out to about £3.30 per hour it saves if it's 44 hours total vs 14 hours. Plus you've got to have two whole days off for travel. Anyone earning over £3.30 per hour it wouldn't be worth waiting.

Rather pay extra and fly direct than spend almost 24 hours Vs 7 hours. Very cold.

Nice price despite the overnight layover. Only pity is that the first flight leaves from Stansted is not with Austrian (but Eurowings).

It's probably not worth you time for anyone earning over £50 a day.

It didn't even occur to me to look at Eurostar. I'm flying from Manchester to Paris the night before so I have a leisurely start. Cheap flight, cheap hotel. Still quids in. Thanks though. Loving these secret flight websites people are adding.

It was a special fare that Qatar ran at the start of the year. They don't do it often and it's probably not repeatable to Tokyo! That said, a good starting point for a heads up about that sort of discount is SecretFlying.Com. Also have a look at

If you use eurostar snap website you can get to Paris for £25 and not even have to fly. Plus it is quicker after you factor in time saved getting to ebbsfllet or St pancreas, security is a bit quicker, no baggage carasel etc...

How did you find that??? Wow.
