If you're wondering what Newcastle is like, check out "Geordie Shore" on Youtube.
I’ve been in this ferry in November with a toddler for a Saturday trip. For kids there is a ball pit, painting, card games also someone from staff. She gave a soft toy to take home. My experience was good and we enjoyed every bit in Amsterdam and ferry. I heard going on Friday night is not a good idea for families with young children.
I went on one of these in winter everyone was being sick it was exactly like that video terrified

Stunning hotel at incredible value at this price
Think the description for this post must have been written by the manager of the hotel by the sound of it.

Ive stayed here and my experience was it's pretentious, overpriced, has poor service, is dirty and nothing special. I suppose at this price and given what's included you can't really argue but I'd keep expectations low

I rang up and was told the deal has been pulled unfortunately
I thought the HD picture is pretty good on streaming services, totally liveable with Freeview. Can't speak to Sky as I refuse to give Murdoch any money

As to LG apps, they removed the spotify app in the summer for no reason and it's never come back... who knows, they also kept removing xplay which is a great plex app for no discernible reason according to the dev
Genuine question for those in the know, does HD content look any better/worse on LG’s OLED? I’ve got a LG LED but looking to upgrade to 4K OLED.
So glad to hear the honest reviews of SD picture quality. I was going to bite in boxing day / new yr sales but have realised not to bother yet. Hukd has actually saved me 💰 for once 😁
Agreed on the sound on this TV, it is a dissapointment. Also it took me days to get the picture to the point of being happy with it.

I did genuinely think about sending it back as 85% of TV broadcast on sky can look terrible. BUT now I've played with the settings & sorted a surround system I'm pleased with it.

Blue planet in UHD is something special BUT remember there's very little content still out there. If I had hindsight I think I would waited as my 6 year old Samsung LED looks good still today on most SKY broadcast's BUT when you do feed my OLED 4k all the doubts disappear.

Moral is don't get sucked into the hype... Its good/excellent but only if fed the right material

Perhaps because your car was there?
We did this in October, was fine sailing out, coming back we had level 8 gail force winds, i felt awful.

Flights can be had for around £100 return pp though. To be honest, if you're going from Newcastle, you'd be best looking at going somewhere further afield that requires a change in Amsterdam and have a long 8 or so hour layover. You have the same amount of time in Amsterdam then.

They should really do a one night stay in Amsterdam as well as the 2 nights on the boat, an extra £30-40 and it'd be so much better and worth it.

Having worked for one of the major coffee chains for over a decade I was surprised how good these compatible pods are. Even thought the best before date is short, The are individually sealed and will be fine for many months more. Don't be put off by the low price. They really are great No need to be a brand snob (Awaits the backlash). Enjoy!
I checked when you posted and only got the one which is 69p per pack in plastic capsules - tasted awful, yet the purple packaged / aluminium capsules I got usually are amazing! Did anyone find any stock of the aluminium ones elsewhere?

Edit: Just realised you said it was plastic in your post - apologies. On the picture of your post it does say Aluminium though

Got two adults two kids for £71 for oct half term bargain. Many thanks

You hire people for the half term?
Ive done this trip a good few times (the terminal is only 5 minutes from my house)........YES there is a duty free shop on the boat and it stocks the usual cigs, tobacco, perfumes ,,,drink etc.....

One tip, take some cans with you as the bar proces have jumped up......buy a legit drink at the bar and then go for a wander outside for a cig....then come back with your glass full, if you get my drift
Transfers from the ferry terminal to Amsterdam cost more than the crossing!

Yup! Been on this boat 20+ times. Everytime has been an absolute hoot!

I almost prefer the time on the boat than I do the 3-4 hours you get in Amsterdam.

EDIT: Don't be put off tho. There's plenty of stuff to keep the kids entertained. Not sure if Vicky The Pirate is still on it but she used to take all the kids around the boat and keep them amused.

We went earlier on this year midweek and it was very pleasant. I think if you go Friday or Saturday it maybe a different, but you also won't get the cheap prices then either. Food is expensive on board, but we thought the drinks prices were just about normal pub prices so not too bad. As I have said in a previous post watch out for the Maritime phone coverage. We were charged £120 for my wife and 2 kids who's phone's accidently latched onto their signal and Facebooked for around 5 mins!

Can anyone tell me how to enter the groupon code. It says invalid ....
I wish to book departure on 2 Nov, how will I know that the date is available for family of 4
If you're going for the Christmas markets, Bruges beats Amsterdam, hands down! I love both cities, and live very close to the DFDS terminal in North Shields, but in prep for Christmas, it would be Bruges for me, and it's cheaper for everything. P&O are usually very reasonable for bringing the car (probably not on this offer) - and DFDS is not.

Hope for a calm crossing - Went on 30th Dec a few years ago to stay in Amsterdam a few days to see in New Year (which was great), but the outward journey was like the Poseidon Adventure - 1/2 an hour after leaving the Tyne, half the people on the ship were spewing their guts up (me included).

Look for the ye olde pub in Bruges that has a beer menu the size of a phone book - around 450 beers on the go.
Thanks
