Unfortunately it's the parasites etc that are killing off our wild fish as they navigate past the fish farm pollution in the estuaries during their migration run. By supporting this cheap farmed fish meat it's incresing the problem until soon there will be no more wild Salmon. The Environment Agency have just announced a large no of our rivers are in crisis mode for the foreseeable future.
Im glad those pesky parasites are dead when I eat them (shock)
And smoking or cooking kills the parasites, as does freezing it at -18deg or lower for 7 days if you are wanting to eat it raw in sushi and the likes.
There was a massive queue at the fish counter on Friday when they had it for £7.50/kg!
I was just thinking that its usually farmed crap, not wild.
