How do you check it has 20 support and what is it.Thanks

Band 20 is the 800MHz 4g signal that O2 use the other networks use it but they also use other bands so if you use O2 or the piggy back ones like tesco, giffgaff you won't have a 4g signal if you are on another network like EE or 3 you should be ok as band 20 is not their main 4g band. Just check the phone network specs in the description 4G: FDD-LTE B1/B3/B4/B5/B7/B8/B20
Guys, one of these or wait? My Dad's after a new phone and I'm wondering whether or not he should wait for the imminent wave of new Xiaomi releases...

Thanks, I'd be interested to get some feedback

BTW, has anyone tried the "mute" button on trolls?

Just tried the mute button. I'm after a new phone so I keep checking the phone posts on here, and by God I'm fed up of certain comments/posters. I saw a 'suspended' blue note at the side of a posters name earlier on, its gone now, but I just thought 'that's karma' and smiled.

I've tested all of them using the hardware test menu too. They "pass" but don't work well.I've solved my mum's with a windowed smart cover so she doesn't touch the screen with her face on calls. Plenty of people on the forums with the same issue. But wanted to hear from others on here with the RN4. Seems rediculous for a phone that's sold in such quantity this has.

Ahhhhhhh, thanx for that. :-)

I recall hearing a similar story in the wind to that some year's back ...

(I've since forgotten that obviously).

So looks like people in this Country - who do HEAVY orders from various Chinese sites that is (myself at time's included?!, lol), to be kind of more on the ball when it comes to these things then or something?.

By say some weeks beforehand/that moment in time, etc ...

The over excessive advertising of Chinese New Year is very much in the Media even here too like? (so a casual/slight 'nudge' in that regard, is more than just going to be ahead of us all here regardless I guess?, hehehe). :-D
Does anyone have any sort of discount codes for GearBest, for this Xiaomi phone, etc? (to bring the current more expensive cost down too), or ...

Thanx. :-)

@SClub
maybe you are right about stock,i too ordered a miband 2 twice from them & i don't remember delivery time was too long. personally i prefer to use Gearbest over Ali Express for the fact they accept paypal which offers me better protection than my useless credit card company even though it's only for 6 months i still feel safer with paypal but i must give credit to Ali Express payment system as they won't release money to sellers unless item is confirmed delivered but this is where their good service ends if the item breaks down even 1 day after been confirmed delivered you are at the mercy of the seller where with paypal (Gearbest) you have 6 months of protection. thanks

(remind me again why did i buy a phone from Gearbest)

They are probably out of stock. The Gearbest countdown of items remaining is usually made up in my experience! They tend do get stock in reguarly though, so hopefully you aren't forced to wait too long. I think the longest I ever waited was for a MiBand 2, which took just over a month to arrive. Plus the two watches I ordered in November (but the total value was less than 5 quid, so they are probably being delivered by sea cucumber or something...

Yes, I know this isn't the best price for this phone but wondered whether …Yes, I know this isn't the best price for this phone but wondered whether it might be a better option for somebody like me who is nervous about buying a phone from China.

Purchase from a merchant that offers direct payment by credit card and any £100+ item will have the merchant's delivery and warranty obligations replicated in UK by UK credit card company. The credit card co has no choice in the matter; tis a legal obligation under Section 75 of the Consumer Credit Act which.co.uk/con…act . Avoid complications by not using a payment intermediary such as PayPal; just stick with the visible debtor-creditor-merchant arrangement where the merchant's name appears on the credit card statement.
Not voting either way as I also paid £90 for this phone a few months ago, that said this phone is worth in excess of £163.99!

If you need it soon you probably wont find anything better for the money.
This will most likely go cold purely on price, but I've bought from this ebayer before and paid a higher price than if I'd ordered from China, purely to get it within a few days (wife's phone broke, needed something fast, didn't want to spend loads on a new flagship, but didn't want to buy something slow and generally poor for £150). The phone is great and I had no problems with the vendor at all. You're paying for the convenience and peace of mind of getting the item quickly, from within the UK. I think it's a better phone than you can get for the same money in the UK, but I don't feel I can vote this hot as it is available for much less if you're happy to wait weeks / months. Order with confidence, but I don't think I'll vote either way.

So I have been tracking my order (standard shipping), and it's showing "IN RECIPIENT PO BOX" From what I understand, this will be customs charges Anyone paid the fees before, and what were you charged? This is Royal mail by the way.

I'm having horrendous luck ordering from China. One aliexpress store has shutdown without my order delivered. Another is 9 weeks and we are in dispute as nothing has came, seller has offered me half of what I paid.

Another order, ordered six weeks ago, still has 50 days before I can dispute, seller has ignored my request for a tracking order, actually, they've just ignored me full stop.

I ordered a mi2 strap from gearbest, nothing in my order queue, asked gearbest what is happening. They want bank proof, it was paid through paypal, sent them my invoice, been ignored since.

I'm almost ready to give up. These are the chances you take though I suppose.

Ordered as a present for someone, came to £91.86.

There is a small gamble with these phones. My redmi note 4 global (4gb ram, 64 gb storage)l turned up not long ago, with a slight yellow tinge when scrolling, very poor camera and dialling problems. I'll reflash it using the xiaomi software, hopefully fix a few problems then possibly sell it.

I must say, it's the first one of a few to have problems, and that's the chance you take ordering from China. I doubt paypal would cover me....so it is what it is.

For example, I currently have a Xiaomi Mi5, and have just ordered a Mi Note 3. When the Note arrives, I will sell the Mi5. I do accept that buying from Chinese sellers carries a certain amount of risk and is not for everyone, but for me, it's the only way to buy.

To those who know the pitfalls and to decide to take the gamble ,that's fine .I'm sure you would agree with me that for many of the less well off and less savvy members it could be anything but fine . Max out their credit card for a nice Xmas present , then find they have import duties and VAT to pay -ouch ! Then find out on Xmas day its duff and there is no warranty or feasible way of returning .Last time I looked this was a members site - not just for the rich and intelligent . I think we should realise that many members haven't got plenty of funds and haven't got the savvy to understand the gamble they are making when buying from these glossy Chinese websites . That's my point though "buyer beware " seems to be the heartless feeling of many better off members towards those less well off. Would you advise a financially strapped member to spend their last £200 on a phone from a Chinese seller ?

My point is.......This is an £89 phone perfect for a cash strapped buyer like me.

PS 50 plus Gearbest (chinese) purchases to date including mobile phones and no import duty.

I've actually got the Redmi 4x, which is 5.0 inch and 1280 x 720 but still a very nice screen. The one here is the NOTE 4x which has the bigger screen with higher res. The camera's okay I guess, not on a par with Samsung or Apple but I'd say it's better than the Moto G (looking at examples).

Have a look at Xiaomi's website and browse through all the phones and their specs.

The Mi5s? A few others who bought the RN4 from Gearbest got that too
hotukdeals.com/com…422

The processor spec doesn't look right though? Mi5s is SD821 Quad-core (2x2.15ghz & 2x1.6ghz) and is twice as powerful in terms of benchmarks<

I mentioned this to one of the others who received it. You could sell it on eBay for more than you spent on the RN4:
ebay.co.uk/itm…623
ebay.co.uk/itm…607
Overall it's a more powerful & more expensive higher tier phone despite its downsides compared to RN4.

The sensor which controls it was something else that changed position compared to original RN4 so you'd need a RN4X smart cover. Both very impressed with it. You will need a case though as without one it's as slippery as an overly lubricated slippery thing.
