OnePlus 5T 4G 6GB RAM 64GB ROM International Version - Black Cheapest I could find at the moment, use code " MSPARK " at checkout.
I purchased the OnePlus 5T from GearBest around a month ago, got caught by DHL who rang me up telling me that they we're trying to avoid Import Tax & was being sued. They returned the phone back to GearBest and I went to buy it from O2.

Great phone though, not sure if the same will happen with normal shipping.

You actually said 'plus import fees' but let's forget that part.

meaning the price quoted should include that as not everyone will be able deny the British government its duty. Selective quoting is selective...
How much are customs roughly ?

As has been pointed out before in this thread, the sellers are using their own custom OS which will have been badly translated from Chinese. . If HMRC find out that you have tried to evade VAT and duty fees (they often inspect packages randomly) you will be charged VAT on the full price of the phone and could face prosecution.Let's do some maths: price of the phone + VAT = 1.2*0.71*488 = £415.78UK price = £449 (£404 with 10% student discount from studentbeans)Is that £35 difference really worth it?[Image]

Some common sense methinks, I wouldn't buy a phone from a Chinese website with a poor track record.

Since my 3t updated to oreo late last year the sound gives out every now and then. Means I miss texts because it has stopped notifying me unless it still lets me know via my watch which it does occasionally. In call volume also drops off and I have to reboot to improve both these problems.

It's registered with them ("for warranty") and they know where it was bought from. But then, so did LG.... It wasn't until I came to claim for the GPS issue that they refused to admit there is a known problem and said new phones bought on eBay are not covered.
Hopefully I won't have to find out! So far very pleased with my 5.

That's a lot of issues Andreialisen. I don't suffer any of those issues but I probably use my phone completely differently to you. I can say that my phone does vibrate when I unlock with my fingerprint though. I think the Android 8 update was a little rushed in comparison to the Android 7 update last year. In my experience with One Plus in the last year, they have been good in sorting the issues and I know the 5.0.2 Oxygen OS update is just around the corner.

Every company has good and bad interactions with customers of course.I'm not suggesting that people are definitely going to have a bad experience with GB and I wouldn't say to definitely avoid them, but I do think people are more likely to have a bad experience with them than with Amazon for example.Trying to get almost 200% of the cost of a phone from me is something I'd expect from a scammer, not an established retailer. They also did the exact same thing with at least one other person on HUKD.Imagine Amazon charging a customer the advertised price for a product, then asking for almost the same amount again to post it out. They'd be rightly crucified.Aye I don't think the -82 is warranted at all.

Yep your right, most companies have good and bad interactions, but as said, when I had a problem they sorted it immediately. The point I was trying to make, was it seems harsh on the op to go to this effort and get this now -85 score, particularly for a company that has a bad image, but personally an unwarranted one. Anyway, let’s leave it there, while we have some parity

The point I was making is there seems to be a lot of negativity with this company, which as said from personal experience is totally unjust, and that would deter some people from buying from them. You and many others have had problems. Many others and myself haven’t, just wanted to balance the argument a little, and also shout out for the op who put effort into this and gets -80 degrees unfairly for their troubles, partly because of the bad press, but I do agree that you should use PayPal for peace of mind.

Now I would advise anyone to use caution and make sure items are actually in stock before they order, and pay with PP if possible. As long as there are no complications it's fine. When things go wrong, they can go really wrong. Amazon they are not.Well I don't think a large amount of criticism means that there is necessarily trolling afoot, they could just be a pretty iffy company. The people who were criticising GB before your comment have valid complaints however. I (and others) have also recently had trouble with GB regarding a Doogee phone (which is still ongoing after more than two months in my case). My particular issue with them is that they insisted on not sending me the phones I paid for unless I paid almost the same amount again, as well as flat-out refusing to acknowledge some of my questions about the order. They only agreed to send me the phones I paid for after I left some negative reviews on some sites (this was suggested by another HUKDer who had to do the same to get their phone). Their CS has been absolutely atrocious and dishonest in this instance.

In October 2017, a researcher caught OnePlus silently collecting all sorts of data from its users. Now, a new report says that there's still a OnePlus app that can grab data from the phone and send it to servers in China without a user's knowledge or express consent. BGR reports:
The French security researcher hiding behind the name Elliot Alderson on Twitter detailed OnePlus's data collection practices back in October, and he has now discovered a strange file in the OnePlus clipboard app. A Badword.txt file contains various keywords, including "Chairman, Vice President, Deputy Director, Associate Professor, Deputy Heads, General, Private Message, shipping, Address, email," and others. The file is then duplicated in a zip file called pattern alongside six other .txt files. All these files are apparently used in "in an obfuscated package which seems to be an #Android library from teddymobile." Now, TeddyMobile is a Chinese company that works with plenty of smartphone makers from China. The company seems to be able to recognize words and numbers in text messages. And OnePlus is apparently sending your phone's IMEI number to a TeddyMobile server, too. It looks like the TeddyMobile package might be able to grab all sorts of data from a phone. Even bank numbers are apparently recognized.
OnePlus has yet to issue a statement on the matter.

You're thick aren't you? Read what I replied above.

Pipe down you clown. I read exactly what you said.

I didn't buy my 3T to shoot 4k video and not many do. If I were doing that seriously, I'd buy a proper camera. No one buys a oneplus for its camera. It's crap

I do take plenty of short clips and they upload to the cloud and delete from my phone. Done. No issue.

There are many many reasons to have this phone over and above your stupid use case (that no one else in the world would seriously use a phone for)

What proportion of the sales do you think are for the 64gb model Vs the higher on all models? The vast majority take the base storage. Over 80% of the iPhones are sold at 64gb. Are 80% of people wrong and you're right? Should they all have given their money to charity? Or could maybe, just maybe, you could be wrong?

I would never even consider watching a 4k movie on my phone. There are plenty of cheap tablet choices out there that would be a far batter choice. Regardless...you do realise that the screen is only HD and not 4k? What would be the point in storing a 4k video? A ripped DVD is around 1GB. Even if it was 4k, what would be the point on such a small screen. Just like 4k is "pointless" on TVs under 50 inches (IMHO)Your comment about not needing a 5T just because i don't fill the space is pretty short sighted. All my photos are backed up to Google, and not stored locally. All my music is streamed from GPM, I keep enough offline to do a round the world trip twice...and i have room left over to store films if i wanted to. You can watch films on any number of devices starting from around £50, (with expandable storage), if that's what you want, why do you need a phone like this? Maybe for everything else it offers? To be a power user, you don't need to live in the dark ages and store things locally.Problem solved for youhttps://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/ravpower-filehub-plus-wireless-travel-router-sd-card-reader-usb-portable-hard-drive-companion-dlnanas-sharing-media-streamer-6000mah-external-battery-pack-2799-from-svt-amazon-2878110

I don't think it was. He talked about watching films on a PC oh holiday.

I was talking about shooting 4k videos. I know very well everybody is on Netflix nowadays. One hour of 4k is 20GB on that phone so you do the math. Again, if 64GB is enough for you in 2018 you really don't need a Oneplus 5t. Get yourself a Xiaomi Note 5 Plus for £150 and donate the rest for charity.

Carphonewarehouse will give £100 for a Nexus 6 as long as there is no significant damage and it turns on. The problem is mine looks like it's brand new. It's had a screen protector and full bumper case on it since the day I got it. Absolutely immaculate. It's almost too good to hand over to Carphonewarehouse.
That said, this OnePlus 5T is so fast and smooth. And a better size too. It's definitely an upgrade. Just a shame about the camera. Hopefully a software update will fix it soon.

From my limited amount of orders with Gearbest - generally, they are pretty slow. One was a knockoff BOSS Belt which took about a month to ship (can't give it as a Xmas present! btw, the recipient knows it's not real!) - the Axon 7 thread has a few complaining about how slow it took to dispatch - six weeks in my case.

Ordered here and there from Banggood and they seem to be much quicker with dispatch times - one time was a pre-order and took a while, but at least I knew to expect that with a pre-order.

Amazing phone and so fast at everything it does but the camera is truly awful. As is the speaker. The camera should only be a software issue so I'm hoping they can sort it. My Nexus 6 takes far superior photos so this s disappointing. But it's a great phone though!

I had 8 outstanding orders to come on Monday but after Thursday 3 arrived and another today so I'm waiting for four orders to come.

One was a 75p USB cable which isn't worth worrying about. But I've got three others I'm waiting for all of which were insured so it's more out of time than money that is concerning for those.

If your referring to Netflix, unless they have recently resolved this issue in the last update, it cant play HDR content and it wasn' even able to handle full HD.
There were several threads on the HD subject, on HDR it ain't a flagship so it does not have Flagship capabilities.
OP software is a joke they have Bluetooth 5 on the OP5 without the ability to connect to 2 speakers, one of the basic functions of 5.0. The last I read anything on that subject it was still the same on the 5T.

Not that it's ever happened to me (though I don't order much from Gearbest/Banggood/China in general) but I have seen a few threads on HUKD where this has happened. techtablets.com/for…ed/

There's a reason why I *shook* my parcel after I took it off my postie (though my postman must have thought I was mad).

Was your parcel tampered with? The Axon 7 I got earlier in December came in double grey polythene bags, and the phone box itself was cellophaned, delivered by Royal Mail.

I think people are trying to determine whether couriers are more risky or the UK company that handles Gearbest parcels (as I understand it, I think this company receives drop-shipped parcels that come via Belgium/Europe before relabelling them for UK post)?

It seems a bit ridiculous to video every package you receive (as some advise) because it just isn't possible in some cases.

Credit Card Chargeback or Paypal Dispute is the way to go, I think - Gearbest will just keep stalling you endlessly, from what I've read.

I actually agree with you here. The camera has definitely not lived up to the reviews and hype. I am hopeful that software updates will resolve many of the niggles. I've had mixed results with the camera (mostly poor in all honesty). Being Winter in the UK doesn't help with little to no sunlight. Most shots are taken in doors in low light conditions. Sometimes skin tones become tanned and then flicker to untanned(!!??)...really odd.

On the flip side, I couldn't look at any other phone, because of the close to stock software, overall design and features of the phone (battery, fast charging, size, dual sim, bluetooth 5.0, fast wifi etc). Too much value to resist in my opinion.

Its also safer as any heat produced (which is very little as it relies on volts to amps) is put onto the charger which has the chips, other phones normally have within them. Basically its superior in literally every form. 0-100 in 55 minutes. 128GB. There's little need to expand further on that. Its got more ram than some pcs!

OK, thought I would give an update on my Oppomart purchase of the Oneplus 5T for the benefit of others.

So, if the tracking information is to be believed my purchase is on it's way to me in the UK as of 15th Dec 2017. I did pre-order it on the 15th of October with the site saying it would be despatched late in November. It wasn't. After a lot of emails back and forth I finally established that it was sent on the 12th December. Fortunately, perhaps because of my constant enquiries, they appear to have put it on a faster track than I was expecting.

So, Oppomart appears to be about to deliver. Would I choose to use them in the future? Possibly... but it depends on whether you're prepared to put up with the delay. Barring any surprises, in the end I will pay about £422 for a phone, that, I could actually buy for £450 from O2 as a pay as you go handset with a free 12 month Xbox Live Gold membership chucked in for good luck.

o2.co.uk/sho…/5t

On reflection, I think the latter choice would have made more sense in case of warranty issues, etc. But, hey, you have to be prepared to give things a try at least once.

Now I'm just crossing my fingers and hoping it arrives in one piece, works and doesn't give me any more cause for doubting my choice of retailer!!

And in other news, North Korea issued a statement saying “we’ve decided we’re not going to pursue our nuclear programme, all hail Donald Trump” - ok so I’m joking but in seriousness, they did abuse peoples’ trust with both this and the screen issue (that they denied and still do) so whether people will forgive them is another matter. The people OP paid to tune the camera.
What bugs? Are you serious,really?
Its a OP device dude there are always a rack of bugs , that were on the device before, the one before that and the one before that.
I'm sure the last line of the latest update said
. General bug fixes.
There were so many they couldn't be bothered to list them.
As for the screen who ever said the iPhone screen was great? Have you ever used one in direct sunlight?
The sub 1080P matrix screen in OP5 was banished from the Samsung flagship ranks in 2015, need I say anymore on that one.
Apart from the SOC, storage and VOOC charging the rest is pretty short of flagship.
