I think it's a valid strategy as a company: get as many customers by making a few compromises and when you have enough then you can start growing your margins.
They started off as budget competitors but have now moved beyond mid range into the higher end...at least that's what I've seen with Oneplus. Sorting out their rough edges, like the OS, also comes at a price. It shows there is a bit of a base price for these phone components and an android-like OS on it. Maybe next year, with production running at a better capacity, prices may go down a bit on newer models, unless 4k screens (and NFC) becomes the norm
Good deal as it is probably the cheapest... Regardless, these phones should go for less than 350 brand new in the current market given many new ones out for release. Just can’t believe how cheap these phones were few years ago and so expensive now. Oneplus, vivo, huawei, MI and few similar ones were super cheap and they’re ridiculously expensive now :(
