So, that little known Trump bug, implanted years ago by the orange one's henchmen, has spontaneously erupted, blowing our batteries apart. Notice, how the the outward bulge, eerily, exactly mirrors the 🍊 one's big, fat belly. His hatred of our Chinese overlords knows no bounds. What a dastardly plot!

You have predictive powers too... yesterday I discovered my rubber cover wasnt sitting right on my Mate 10 Pro...Yep looks like a battery failure too.. works fine at the moment but dont want to risk it so took Switchy's deal on the Moto g 5G... wanted the Mi Note 10 but when I thought about it was just the camera i was wanting and wasn't worth the extra 200+ notes for it . Hoping to get my new phone before this one self destructs

Only three? I tip my hat to your commendable restraint (horror) Haha!

What is Oppo's UI like? Close to stock or more on a bloatware side? (confused)

OfferKid

Switchy, are you going to be holding onto your Mi10 as your daily phone then? Initial feedback is it is a very good device, especially at the price. Just trying to figure out if I should leave the sammy ecosystem for it!

arjun311

Interesting. Will check it out. Thanks

oblivion

Actually, it *can* be dual SIM. There is a guide on XDA which I know works as I've done it. Obviously at own risk, but all the connections are there, you need to change to Singapore region with a downloadable app and buy a dual SIM tray.

Fair enough, I took the three years as the phones only 23 a month n sure it'll devalue but it's 828total Vs buying it at 1000 the now

Try_Height

Just seen that deal aswell. But essentially it's £45 a month. Not worth it imo, this phones value will decrease quite quickly. I'm getting a voxi rolling SIM for now , and holding out for a better deal in coming months.

daazzaa92

I got it via virgin 34 a month over 3 years with 100gb, 45 over two years but you can always pay it off early

Try_Height

I'm in your exact situation. Woke up and started looking for deals but no phone justifies upgrading from the superb mate 20 pro. If only the mate 40 pro had Google services 😵. If I can get this oppo for £30 a month with minimum 40gb data then I may upgrade.

mistikempire

This is sounds exactly like me... I currently have and am typing from the mate 20 pro... Its such an amazing phone, that any new phone just doesn't justify being a significant upgrade from my mate 20 pro. Struggling.... Damn you Huawei for making something so perfect!

You can't get this hardware on any Pixel phone not even close. Split screen is definitely used by many people, and locking down Android features is anti consumer. Anyway I'm not trying to convince you to change your opinion on the OPPO. If you like it you like it.

anouj

Location doesn't disable on reboot for me, maybe a bug with your phone? m Most of your other issues won't be faced by the average person they're power user issues and if you want that kind of phone other brands are more suited like pixel.

fishmaster

Split screen mode locked to OPPO launcher, Split screen mode actively disabled for 3rd party launchers. Yes they've actually restricted a major Android feature unless you use their launcher! OPPO launcher doesn't support 3rd party icon packs, so if you want to use split screen mode you're forced to use this launcher then you can't customise it! Location will disable on reboot. Have to manually enable. Also causes location to disable on camera until you remember to enable it. Power saving causes user settings for screen timeout to be changed back to default. The last update fixed the incredibly annoying screenshot button combo. Thankfully. Eye Comfort mode isn't location based so dusk / dawn times have to be manually changed by the user! That's just some of the issues. I'll probably remember some more after I write this.

anouj

I love colours os. The animations are fast and slick. Nice extra features too

arjun311

Single sim kills it for me unfortunately

Was so ready to buy this, but needed dual SIM.

kobirulali

I got the Xperia 1 mk I when it was £200 off O2. Didn't like the camera, slow and grainy and bad indoors and low light. Gcam was terrible on it and was an old version too. Xperia 5 ii looks the business, although it's lacking a good general camera app (it needs better HDR and a night mode). S10 FE, not a fan of the software. 6gb ram (trust me I need 8gb as so many times I come back to YouTube and my video has gone as app closed). Pixel 5 as you've said is essentially the same sensor as what I have already and looking at the photo looks similar too. Just the Snapdragon 765G is a complete turn off.

fishmaster

If you're used to a Pixel then everything else will be a disappointment in terms of the operating system. I wanted an Xperia 1 II but EE never sold it. The Xperia 5 II looks good, it has a very decent camera app with amazing manual control, it doesn't seem to take great photos though. The problem with the Pixel 5 is the tired same old camera sensor and lack of telephoto lens, the telephoto on this OPPO Find X2 Pro is very decent. I wouldn't buy a Pixel 5 for photography, I'd buy it for the software, it won't take bad photos but it won't take exceptional photos either.

kobirulali

@fishmaster I'm on Pixel 2 XL and have shortlisted the Galaxy S20 FE 5G, Xperia 5 ii and Pixel 5. Whichever comes on a good deal for BF I'm pulling the trigger as phone has gone slow and battery is meh. You've thrown this into the mix with your camera comments. Love the fact it has 512gb internal storage as I always fill mine, copy to hard drive and repeat (yes it auto uploads to Google photos but you gotta have at least 2 copies of everything)

Aiadi

ColorOS can fetch that much money? Really beyond my comprehension. I have one of their basic models and the operating system is atrocious and merciless in killing all background activities in an attempt to desperately prolong battery life but rendering many apps useless in the process. Horrible design for an android fork.

I’m sure this charges from 0 to 100 in 39 minutes. As much as wireless charging would be nice that’s a crazy charge time.

richard_austin

This phone definitely has some impressive specs but I think the OnePlus 8 pro is a better buy due to colour os

BargainHunta96

Wow them specs are impressive.

IDUNNOWHATIWANT

I'm Still learning my way around it. I want to know how to use that fancy camera lol Was such a shame it had to be updated first before the camera could actually be used. Prior to that it wouldn't focus!

MrSwitch

You are very welcome mate, happy you got what you wanted in the end (popcorn)
