Went to Disneyland Wednesday and Thursday. Decided to give Planet Hollywood the swerve based on the reports here. Ate at a Tex Mex buffet one night and although it was pretty expensive (€34pp which includes one drink) and the range doesn't compare to American buffets like Golden Coral, I was surprised at how nice it was. extremely tender carved pork, some sort of chunky beef in gravy (which they for some reason called a stir fry), chilli, chicken fajitas, pesto raviolli, mixed veg dauphinose and a small selection of kid friendly fast food. Deserts were nice too. I'd recommend it, especially if you don't want to eat up a couple of hours of your day in a restaurant. Earl of Sandwich was also good, a Subway with much higher quality ingredients. Had a philly cheesesteak. Used a 20% voucher but rather sneakily they don't let you use a voucher with a meal deal (still works out far cheaper with the voucher) There's a McDonalds there but it gets unbelievably busy and it has a notable markup (on top of France's already strangely high McDonald prices). Tried out a few unusual items when I was there: McGriddles for breakfast (light American style pancakes infused with syrup), Bagel burgers and McFlurries that use sorbet. Easily the cheapest food option at Disney. From the plans they've submitted for the resort expansion, Disney Village is getting torn down in the next year or two in order to be replaced by something along the lines of Disney Springs, if you're looking at booking late into 2019 make sure you check to see what building work is being done. The food in the parks themselves is universally bad and overpriced (with the exception of the Ratatouille restaurant which is just expensive).

We have been twice this year and I got to say if your having burger and chips which is what most people eat, I would just go to McDonald's. These places are so overpriced and over rated. Earl of sandwich and Annettes was not nice either.

Said it before and I'll say it again, this is the worst restaurant I've ever had the misfortune of eating in. We go to Disney every year and would never ever go here again, once was enough.

I've not been to Paris, but the rainforest cafes in Florida were great for families. We're heading to Paris soon and will go Rainforest instead of Planet Hollywood.

Went here last week, couldn’t eat the food, disgusting. Place looks tired. Couldn’t wait to leave. Won’t go back

Nobody is superior. But you call it Eurodisney if you want, my precious little thing. (y)

No some people are so far up themselves they think they are superior to everyone else. We knew what you meant. I think I will continue to call it Euro Disney if it upsets people. You should to.

are there plenty of places/choices to eat nearby the hotel?

Good luck getting eurostar or a flight for anywhere close to the price

I was just adding some mitigating circumstances :D To be honest, its just easier to say Euro Disney than Disneyland Paris. TO be fair, very few people call the Disney park in Florida by its correct name either! I do try and remember to say Disneyland Paris but sometimes I slip into the old name (for convenience) and, funnily enough, people still understand where I am talking about. Go figure - some rebranding excercises aren't as successful as others I guess.

We stayed at the Santa Fe a few years ago - very basic but ideal on a budget. It is close to a service station where you can buy food and drink etc which can also save money on the long run

I went to Cheyenne & wished I hadn't (along with some other families we ran into). My review on tripadvisor explains why.

Nothing is within 10 minutes of stepping off the plane. By this logic the baggage reclaim is not easily accessible either.

Nope. They're still too cheap. It's a relativity thing. The only comparable level of attraction is another Disney Park, all of which are far more expensive. £100 for 280 days was ridiculous and it's little surprise they made no money. Most people that had the old top tier pass didn't need it, in that they didn't visit in the days that are now blocked out, so their comparable pass would be the Magic Plus, which saw a much smaller increase.

What price would tickets be on 21 october as seems ots not covered, not been before so not familiar with the prices.

Try to enjoy when it rains... Nobody said you need to sit the sun, but everything looks better when it’s sunny

I'm voting this cold. Eurodisney doesn't exist so this deal must be fraudulent... (popcorn)

Weather irrelevant. Have been before when hot (37 degrees) and been when very cold and wet (February) and have loved all our visits. Not everyone goes on holiday to be a lazy git and sit in the sun all day.

Yes. 4 star compared to 2 star. Also, the food package (if you get one included) is the 'plus' version with Newport, which means you get table service meals included - worth it in my opinion.

Cheyenne is brilliantly themed but has no pool & isnt as high a standard as Newport which is a lovely hotel overlooking Lake Buena Vista. Cheyenne is 2 star whereas Newport Bay is 4 star. Both are great hotels & our family prefer to stay in Cheyenne & pay less for hotel then put the cost savings towards nice meals or souvenirs as you only really use the hotel to sleep in when you are out enjoying the parks all day.

Thanks, you're probably right. I've seen Royalcraft sets in Wyvale and they are much higher quality than the high street tat.

I like the look of it. Voted-hot I absolutely detest the plastic tat people seem to buy by the cartload from the horrid high street chains. It's good to see something decent posted on this site.

Most likely the proliferation of cheaper 'rattan effect' sets from Argos etc which makes people think you can get these for £100-200. But personally (without knowing anything about this brand), this looks much like the sort of stuff my local garden centre sells for the same sort of price, so it doesn't scream great deal to me (though I wouldn't vote cold on that basis alone).

Can the cold voters explain why this is so unpopular? Looks to be a good price to me, for a decent quality brand. Cheapest I've found elsewhere is £685.

Still £140 for 2 people to go return to Bruges by Eurostar or £67 on ferry plus petrol from London. No brainer, I'd like to go by train and not push out toxic CO2, but prices still dont stack up

Absolutely true. I gave up a couple of years ago though so wouldn't be worth it on my part.

still cheaper than in the uk, £9 compared to £21, if you smoke a pouch a week it doesn't take much to make a massive saving. but relatively speaking its the same kind of savings around 50% or so, when baccy was £2.50 there it was £5 or £6 here

oh dear so sorry. I did sept and fares popped up straight away.

Thanks Op. I did not book the Planet Hollywood meal, but bought the 2 park tickets from Attraction Tix, about 10% cheaper than the Disneyland Paris site. Also used TopCashback for a tiny bit more discount. The tix also include additional discount vouchers for Planet Hollywood (20% off merchandise, 15% off food and drinks) and 20% off Earl of Sandwich. I also intend to bring some sandwiches/pastries from the hotel breakfast to the parks (y)

Wow. Each to their own but thats not even what I budget for one day for my family of 3 in Florida. Glad they dont ban on taking your own food in Disney Hongkong you are banned but went only for 2 days.

£66.00 for a family of four is pretty good value esp at Disneyland Paris. We have been a couple of times, and I generally budget about £1500 for 2 weeks of food in France that is for a family of 5 or 6 dependant, You can take your own food to Disney but They are strict on where it can be eaten, there are some picnic areas but usually very busy.

they do all have their risks, but this thread was about Paris so was just agreeing with some of the other commenters about having a bad experience. It was my first time abroad (but not my first time in a major city), I lived in Manchester for 3 years and now live a short train ride from London, only had one (failed) pick pocketing experience in all that time. I have been other places abroad without being robbed.

You're judging an large city by your one bad experience... They all have their risks... Well done for necroing...

How is that relevant to my comment about *actually* getting pickpocketed?

nothing at that price. 89 the cheaper one way, such misleading advert.

Totally agree.

So i noticed some people saying they can't get the £29 fares, while i could still see them. So this is whats happening, what you have to do is when doing a search, is to select Return travel, if you just search for one way they are not offering the £29 fare, as an example On 15th April Lon -> Paris when you select return there are 5 trains at £29 to Paris, but if you select One way then lowest fare offered is £84. I hope this helps .

Blah - "FROM". They really ought to ban the word. Needed 29/3 and/or 15/4 - both are extortionate.

That’s what I was wondering, there’s plenty of seats at great prices, sometimes a little flexibility is all it takes, I guess some are expecting peak time time trains ! Glad you got got a trip sorted (y) 🏻
