Arrived today and seems much faster than the Amazon Fire Tab! Really nice “phablet”. Cheers again OP :)

Compared to the Mediapad M3, I would be inclined to wait for the next Amazon sale and get a Fire HD tablet, put Google Play store on and change the launcher.

Android 6.0 , Android 9.0 Pie is out now .

Cheers. I'll check out the mipad 4.

My Fire 10 is fine. Yeah the OS is a bit annoying but overall it's fine for movies and websites. This tablet on offer is better but it's more expensive and you don't get a warranty.

A very decent tablet. Not so good for games in that it is powering 4 million screen pixels as opposed to 2.3 million on tablets like the Mi Pad 4.

Review Time GPU is poor so low settings needed in games. Mono poor speaker Has ear piece and modem so can be used as a phone for the Incredible Hulk Android 8.0 but don’t expect any updates. They never released any before so why start now. 250 lux screen which is ok indoors but poor outdoors Stutters here and there in OS Stutters bad in web browser Widevine level ? Well you got to watch the video Split screen is very bad slow stutters Emmc speeds slow PUBG only just about playable on the lowest settings, so for gaming this tablet is a No No Battery 6 hours of YouTube. Overall not in the same league as the Mi Pad 4 but is cheaper but then the fire 7” tablet is cheaper again. Spec alone do not make a great tablet. On paper this should have been great but in real life it’s more or less m’eh.

No GPS on mipad

When it is released I welcome you to come back and prove me wrong. However Chuwi has never before released a tablet with L1 so chances of this getting L1 are very low. The chipset does not have a lot to do with L1 certification ££££ does.

Yeah I get it difficult to transfer file between iOS and android. I get that SD issue. And I also get the Apple lock in but android also lock you in and make it difficult to swap to windows or android. Apple has the industry stand on UI design, hence why others copy it. Wink wink Samsung and Xiaomi. Never is a month of Sunday’s is the UI on android better. I work in the IT industry and plenty of people use Mac and iPads so saying they are for nontechy is just silly. But I can see why you need android.

How do I get the additional 15% off? Thanks

If I were you, I'd go on eBay and see which ones pop up. I've bought a few 64GB ones at 300-350 (no offer used). 128GB is currently available at £450, so I'd hold out for another eBay offer, bring that down to 380ish. If you'd like one asap, go to the newly listed section and repeatedly refresh till you find one, it's time consuming but it can be done. You could probably get yourself a 128GB one at £350-400 if you're quick. Or, you can wait for the GearBest deals where I purchased a couple from. The 64GB Mirror Black one was for £382 just a week or 2 after the 6's launch.

Thanks...and where would do you think I'd get the best price on the latest OnePlus 6 in the UK...ideally 128GB version

Available with the 15% discount, but still available. This is no deal. You can get the 5 at £250 brand new.

Maybe for the mix 3 :/

3 will sell Xiaomi at a premium over what they can be (grey) imported for because of a number of reasons. Firstly, the advantage of a UK Guarantee and official support. Then the 3 price will include UK taxes. Finally there is the fact that 3 will, not surprisingly, want to make a profit! So with that in mind, a retail price of £100 plus over that of the grey import is not unexpected or a surprise. Neither would it be an exercise in ripping people off!

I have no idea if I'm honest, all I know is, some time this year!

you got any idea when they will relsease xiaomi phones? its been months now

Yep! It'll be an easy one to judge, if gearbest start reducing their prices in order for us to start buying from them again, then we win.

Oh you two, get a room (cheeky)

Haha obviously ,£530 is full price of 128gb op6 , you don't get discounts on the day a phone is released. Find a s9+ 128gb DUAL SIM 2 months after release with warranty at a price even close to that, impossible. Your Xiaomi has zero official warranty . I already own a Pixel no need for another top camera, if you think you're mi8 comes even close to a s9+, iPhone X, or p20 pro in that department you're dreaming. You talk about cutting corners and thermal issues & throttling, guess you haven't seen your mi8 in action. Not forgetting OnePlus realised such a low margin like the first two generations isn't sustainable , Xiaomi thinks it is by continuing to sell its user data to offset it. Total opposite of Apple strategy, there's a reason why they're the biggest company in the world and Samsung not too far. (highfive) (highfive)

??? £530 is the full price! no deal or value there for a midranged device. and you compared that to full priced top of the line devices, when there were deals on this forum for alot less Who said anything about waiting 6 months? I said because of when the OP is released, there will always be flagships in and around it's price. There were deals for the P20 pro and the LG G7 putting the P20 with £100 and the G7 within £30 , the S9+ was just over £100 more the S9 was actually cheaper from CPW. This is all based on the £469 the OP6 on release at. I just paid £370 for a MI8 128Gb, thats what I call value or as you put it an insane price. The Price in this deal is more representative of what a OP should cost when consider what is missing from the device (there I no certification of any type) and also when you compare the device to the OP3 which cost £309. Apart from a redundant second lens, there has been zerro hardware advancement other than what the SOC brings and the gap to the leaders has widened.

Exactly and the price i paid was £530 as opposed to a £850 s9+ at time of purchasing, the cost of a device when im buying is all im interested in, no use to me the s9+ being £500 6 months after i need to buy it,too late by then. Might as well wait a year and get it for cheaper with that logic (y)

It's what you paid thay matters, because thats what came out of your pocket. Saying what it cost when you wanted to buy it is a Kop out so you can quote higher prices. This is a deal forum so you won't don't many interested in paying the price you quoted, but you will find plenty interested in the prices I PAID. :D

Ohh, I understand now. Thanks for the explanation. XD I've been after a new phone for a couple of months and this looks good. I just wish it was the S version with the SD845 and drastically improved camera. Lack of Treble isn't a concern since it has been unofficially ported by the community developers over at XDA. 256GB of storage is a bit overkill but nice to have nevertheless.

Just out of interest, what screen protectors and or cases are people using?

Why is this expired, its still available but using this IT$MPN564

I actually bought this 4GB 64GB version a few days ago when it was posted at around £155. Turned up fine yesterday or the day before. I tend to avoid AliExpress for expensive items as the one time I ordered a GPD Pocket it turned up marked as $100 worth of towels and Royal Mail wanted duties, taxes and a handling fee.

Fairs, never bought anything over 150 from GearBest but they have been okay for me, Banggood has the best delivery and service and prices aswell, the 20-40 days which is the only option on AliExpress puts me off

Just received the 3GB 32GB version from there, happy with service and seller. Read too many horror stories about gearbest that put me off, aliexpress isn't perfect same as anywhere, being akin to ebay, at least there's a bit more accountabilty there as sellers should want to stay in aliexpress' good books, as well as the customers who can rate sellers - little extra layer of protection along with paypal (at least no extra paypal fees with gearbest); who are gearbest accountable to if problems happen? Quite a few people said messages were ignored and they were lied to, can't be fussed with all that. I'm sure people have had smooth experiences with them but I'm not rich/patient enough to not care about the hassle of possible problems. I've had good aftercare customer service using aliexpress when things went wrong. I use gearbest for small purchases.

Since I (was) subscribed, might as well chime in here - Bluetooth as a technology is relatively unstable anyway and many phones have issues with it, especially Androids, sadly. Gets better with each new version/update/whatever you want to call it. It's one of those things that you would think be easily fixed, but sadly till today it hasn't.

Beware, many Moto Z phones developed a problem with Bluetooth audio (intermittent/stuttering - Google it) following an OTA update. Mine went back to John Lewis for repair, was returned with same problem, went back again, returned with same problem again, and John Lewis then gave me a full refund. IMHO definitely not a phone to buy without a watertight warranty.

i got this phone, bluetooth pairing problem with other device.

Great phone if it's the same as the original Motorola Moto Z. However my phone developed the battery drain fault 1 week after warranty expired. Google it if you're worried. I sent it back to Motorola who said they'd fix it for £90. In the end they just fixed it and sent it back for free. Can't complain.

Nope! It does however have a teeny weeny little man living inside making it work.

Me too (highfive) I figure my experience, isn't always reflective of everyone's.

Mine were for some cheap Xiaomi earphones. I patiently waited 2 months before telling them that I hadn't received them. They wrote a long email (one of those prefabricated ones - sorry, can't think of the correct word just now!) telling me all sorts of things to try, like: visiting the PO, check with your neighbours, in the shed, etc, etc. Good advice for some of the general public perhaps, but I'm not the general public when it comes to things like this - also, the 2 months wait should've told them otherwise. Anyway, they finally refunded I think about a month later - so 3 months in total. I've never had such a poor refund experience from anyone else before or since. EDIT: I always vote their deals hot though, except when it's not a good deal - like with any other store / offer posted on here.

Just to add to my previous comment, I ordered a xiaomi mi mix 2s from them a little while back, and then a couple of days later cancelled the purchased, it took around 3 days to receive my refund, which I was more than happy with. They did try to offer me money off the phone to go through with the purchase, but I just turned it down. I have since bought one from gumtree, which came brand new with UK charger, which I was pleasantly surprised by.

Yeah that's true. Well, like I say, this is the first time with gearbest, and if it goes wrong, I'll no longer post deals from them, or recommend them.

Yes, that's right, but I'd rather buy from other FE stores than Gearbest, even if it's going to be more expensive. Similar to how most of us prefer Amazon, even if they're more expensive than most others (especially eBuyer!) for the same thing.

Sounds like they will just have to use EU/UK locations in furture and ship from there?

The change is that it's not "possibility to be caught by customs" anymore. It will be caught definitely instead. Read news recently that claimed "## millions of Chinese parcels a year reach Europe without import VAT" blabla... The customs office is now more vigilant than ever. They will check any "brick-like" parcels to charge customs. If it's from a European warehouse, that's fine. Otherwise, you'll have the grey card anyway. So the vat and import duty insurance is a good idea if the seller provides it.

What changed? Some Chinese sites offered tax and import duty insurance. One of my friends did that (cost around £3) and was hit with charges. Presumably the Chinese e-tailers will no longer offer this option if it's always going to be the case...

not possibility anymore. it will be caught definitely.

Very well built phones for the money. Had mine since November last year only gripe is the the screen on time is not the best. It's not hellish but don't expect it to last until the end of the day, if you are a heavy user. It's a very decent phone otherwise (I have the X527)

Not a good deal. For that money you could get something with a much better camera and SoC, like a Mi8 or OP6. Unless you need the display, it's a no from me.

S9+ is on par with p2xl and better than the rest eg. screen, camera. Also samsung and iphones hold their resale value.

agreed, top 5 in Chinese market. may have their tweaked rom though.

Vivo are absolutely huge in Asia, and advertising very prominently in this World Cup so this is far from a cheapo phone. Personally I wouldn't buy it. Aside from not really needing to upgrade (though that's never stopped me before) there are some other reasons. 1 - I've not used a Vivo before. Don't know how their ROM works. I've had a Nubia before, and they're great phones but 'a little too Chinese' 2 - It's a pretty considerable wedge of cash, and without any after service, returns etc 3 - Maybe in the hunt for a bit of extra cash pre-Brexit, HMRC have started cracking down on import parcels. I've been stung on the last couple I've ordered, using delivery methods that usually don't get intercepted. But in terms of this phone, it's likely to be awesome, and so far away from a Leagoo, Doogee or Cubot etc.

If it was between Leagoooooo and SamsDung I know I'd pick the Leapoo brand
