Incorrect observation then. All spuds have a skin (jacket) before cooking and turning into a baked potato ;)

No! Observation

Ummm! They're spuds not jacket potatoes!! Only a jacket spud when you cook them!

Anyone else find these are small before cooking and tiny once cooked?

I think obviously veg is oily and frying it just brings out the oils so not a suprise but my personal preference not a nice experience prefer just fresh veg to be healthy and if i want a snack will get less greasy actual crisps as a treat.

I found them a little greasy, personally.

Just saw these 2 hours ago didnt think they were anything special ive had a different brand of veg crisps before but thought they were really greasy and not great... maybe these are ok? Either way heat as its a deal for sure of rrp price. :D

Got some from Oswestry branch today.

Fingers crossed for you.

They're crap for roast potatoes, chips, mash and plain boiled. I use Maria pipers or Saxons, both excellent all round use potatoes.

These have been my go-to potatoes for a while now, The batches I have been getting have been really good varieties with good flavor/texture/colour - Ok it's nothing like a real potatoes grown somewhere else in Europe or those Super-Yellow $2/kg ones, but still for an UK potatoe -decent! This Should be the standard price really... It's a Potatoe!

Really? When did you taste them? Do tell what was wrong with yours because I just ate some that had been thinly sliced then slowly cooked in the oven with cream and garlic, and they tasted fine. Just one of the dozen or so ways we cook them. Of course, if you mainly live on chips they may or may not suit you, but you could always try a different cooking oil.

Rubbish spuds. Only good for leaving on the shelf!

£8 for a 25kg sack at our local farmshop :D

Birds Eye 8 Fish Fingers Crispy Batter 224g 75p // Birds Eye 18 The Original Potato Waffles 1.02kg £1.50 @ Iceland
Found 11th SepFound 11th Sep
Birds Eye 18 The Original Potato Waffles 1.02kg - £1.50 Both are part of new weekly deal @ Iceland

Is this only online as in my local Iceland there was no reduction ?

Excellent price for a excellent product.

Yes - it's the Cod's Pollox.

Well pollock is part of the cod family.

No, it's just that Birds Eye usually hide the fish species by describing their fish fingers as 'Omega 3'. They don't seem to have bothered with these. Nothing wrong with Pollock nutritionally but it's not prime fish - hence the price. At least it's fillet, not minced beaks and feet! :)

Taste foul. ALL other selection crisps are better. Pitty, because the reason I bought them was because of their fantastic ice-cream. Avoid if you want a decent crisp.

Genius idea mate, thank you!

Would you not be able to boil them for a while or microwave them before cutting? Might make it a lot easier as I know when I make wedges they're hard as a rock like you say. I'm on a health kick at the moment and sweet potato is an every day thing for me lol

Aldi frozen sweet potato wedges are lush! 🍠😋

I have a delonghi multifry and LOVE it, sweet potato fries are just great in it, it's just a shame sweet potato is so tough to cut up as I have dodgy wrists too! (I think I'm falling apart (shock) )

Funnily enough my two favourite vodkas are black cow and chase, both outstanding imo, chase overall, black cow for particularly good smoothness.

You should try the fish and chips distilled one too.

Nice enough vodka - just a shame their marketing idiots don't know what the English flag looks like! Or maybe they don't actually have any national pride, but are merely cynically exploiting words/symbols they think will help sell their product.

Chase make some fantastic drinks (y)

Look up Black Cow Vodka.

Well you’ve answered my question then!

The cutters used in commercial kitchens cost around £600. I don't see a £6 plastic job cutting it.... (shock) (lol)

I have a family of 6, I don’t have the time to use a knife. Any suggestions on a good potato chips cutter, please?

Had these a month or so ago. Price is great , Definitely better for big families, we had to chuck half a bag away as they went off within a couple of weeks. Easier to get a smaller bag for us.

May be helpful for any functions/restaurants/big family bulk buys. Who knows.. may god bless the potatoes 🥔

Still, for 5 people that's a potato every day for each person for the week... A lot of spuds.

Ayrshire in Scotland. Best tatties are grown in lava based soil - delicious!

Are they? Maybe the heatwave had an impact on harvesting, the company could’ve fell behind so they harvested them earlier which resulted in smaller potatoes. Just a thought

How can Cornish potatoes possibly be described as 'new' some 3 months after the new potato season started in Cornwall? These aren't 'new' potatoes in the normal sense of the word - they're just overpriced ordinary potatoes.

Had some 2 weeks ago. Nice enough but nothing WOW about them. Then again perhaps one shouldn't expect to be WOWed by a spud. Heck no, they are supposed to be fabulously tasty at this time of year. These were... OK.

got some today they are very small potatoes some as small as marbles

Went to purchase these today. Was charged full price for the Salt & Vinegar ones I purchased. Upon the the staff member checking, apparently only select flavours are on offer. There were plenty of bags left at the tills where other customers had decided not to buy them when the price was shown at the till. Hope this may help some others...
