has this got all the likes of ITV, CH4, CH5 for catch up etc, I'm aware it has BBC Iplayer Ordered last week, will be setting up later this week

Gooner77

I had to get a new antenna cable, it works great now and a real bargain :)

StockportGerbil

I've just set it up. I had to tune it twice before it picked up the HD channels, but I guess that could be a dodgy connection...

Gooner77

Hi, I reallt wanted this to work. I just set this up, it can't receive any HD channels, it could be that the input and output are the other way around, I need to maybe buy two connectors, Female To Male Antenna Adapters? Anyone else having issues with this?

StockportGerbil

I've bought one to replace a BT badged Humax. The main issue I have had with the BT box is removing support for remotely setting up recordings. This claims to support it.

I was looking for an equivalent to the Pi tophat deal and saw this. You'll need a USB drive to access all the features, however it seems a capable contender to the Pi setup...

I got one of these ~3yrs ago - records hdmi. See the comments ,

It was more for just watching later, in another part of the house so I don’t disturb anyone else and they don’ disturb me. Otherwise the desire for copying anything longterm disappeared with cheap DVD and now Blu Ray/4K. Still not into streaming though.

PAISAL

Depends how you watch movies. I like all the extras and just the menus on DVD. You may well have some that are not on any service too. I have a lot of obscure ones that are never going to make it to a streaming service.

Nujol

I remember some movies from love film had forced trailers, 5-10 minutes long sometimes! Amazing how times have changed

Uridium

Yes I've got a collection of over a thousand DVD's, many ex rental. The warnings and trailers are so off putting, I've now ripped almost all onto HDD and are stored on my Plex server for instant viewing from any device anywhere I want .

A few weeks ago, Lidl had a Sharp 24” without DVD built in for £120. If Sharp is what you want it might be worth checking them periodically. Aldi have a Medion 21.5” full HD with DvD for the same which you can order online. So yeah, seems expensive....

gtruman007

For a 720P I agree. Cello / Aldi much cheaper options.

DanielRaymond

It's a decent product compared to the other entry level products out there. Smart also

yozzman1234

Its not bad for a dvd combi and smart TV that is 12/24 volt for caravans and motorhomes . Not a bad deal

Steveyorkie

Is it me or does this seem expensive?

tweety

Because they want access to a scart or RF socket ?

ST3123

August (confused) They break down that much you need to buy them every month (cheeky) No idea why ppl bother with these nowadays when proper PVRs i.e. dual tuner and internal HDD start from £50 e.g. https://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/1-tb-hdr-hd-recorder-amazon-3340998 about double the price but about ten times more useful IMHO...

Ralph888

Limited recording functions, you need a usb pen or hard drive to record anything so factor that cost into the pacage.. Single Tuner. Cheap but woeful user expericience according to reviews.

spannerzone

Just to note that it needs an optional USB memory stick if you want to make recordings.

deleted122141

Maplins had thousands of scart sockets when they shut down. You automatically got a quality upgrade when changed socket from Scart to hdmi on the TV .
