I use it for swimming. Towel, trunks, goggles, bottle water etc. And sometimes a sandwich :D It is free from Asda if you spend £30. With no store within 45 miles of me though £2 ain't too bad, especially when the t-shirts are only £2.

Was joking couldn't care who you're having a go at tbh lol

Don 't be a knob. T hat is irrespective and I would only post a deal if it is actually a deal. This is RRP! Not a deal. Do you know that Poundland sell the majority of items for a pound? Is that a deal?

I'm not uptight? I just wish people would get their facts right :)

I got the last one of these at Crawley - it was a returned one so they inflated it in the store for me so I could check it out (definitely never used, no leaks). As it was a returned one they gave me a (very good) pump for free! Never bought anything at Decathlon before, but I will definitely be back!

I have this tent, its awesome :)

Plenty of room for 2 people.

Worth it just for the music....

I though about one off these but it takes just one small pin or fag to really ruin for festival.

Bought one last time these came up, they are actually very smart.

Same problem with my baby girl’s jacket

Cheers! Bought. heat added

Poor quality, bought for my son and the zip keeps coming unfastened from the bottom. You get what you pay for..

Talking of mistakes have you heard this cock-up by the voice over artist in the promo video https://youtu.be/YnXXudwS2SA?t=29 ? Maybe abrasive is written with an 'f' in her copy?

Totally agree that pump in the video looks ridiculous! anybody know the type of valve on the tent or if the pump for the two man is any smaller?

I guess these are OK if you're the type to drive a car to your field/campsite. Wouldn't like carrying that massive pump around on proper hikes though!

I think their copy writer is getting mixed up or something is getting lost in translation. Found this on the Quechua website: What is the difference in the waterproof properties of a tent with a “2000 mm column of water” rating and a tent that passes a shower test of 200 L of water per hour per m²? One rating measures the waterproof properties of a fabric whereas the other measures the waterproof properties of the entire tent. Indeed, it’s possible to make a tent that will leak in many places through the seams and poorly designed openings with a fabric that can bear a 10,000 mm column of water or a perfectly waterproof tent with a fabric that has a 1000 mm rating. This is what we have been verifying for many years using our shower laboratory that checks the waterproof sealing of our tents (and those of others!). The column of water in millimetres or Schmerber mm ratings are not therefore a good indicator for measuring the waterproof properties of an entire tent… they only measure the waterproof properties of the fabric. The Quechua tents are designed and developed to stop any water getting through the seams, flats, openings, zips, etc. Their waterproof properties are tested and validated under laboratory conditions. The purpose of these tests is to demonstrate the waterproof properties of the entire tent, not just the fabric of the flysheet. The tents are placed under a shower that pours 200 L of water per hour and per square metre for a period of 4 hours. This level of rainfall is equivalent to about twice that of a European storm for a period of 4 hours; and our fabrics have a minimum rating of 2000 mm.

Under product benefits it clearly says "waterproof" 200mm. They can't make up their mind so for that reason, I am out.

It's not so much the look as the description that put me off: "Designed for hiking" oh, good I was looking for some decent... "for 2-3 hours" ok then, decent-ish shoes. That is oddly specific though. What happens after 3 hours? Do I get 3 hours total? Do they somehow recuperate between outings? Do they come with a timer... "in warm weather conditions" eh? The mind boggles. What happens if they get cold? Or Hot? Is that why I have to turn back after 1-1.5 hours, because they'll overheat? So, on a balmy summer's day I can go for a short hike... "on easy paths" because heaven forbid I wanted to hike off-road! "Sorry guys, that path looks decidedly moderate to me, you hike on ahead whilst I stick this thermometer down my socks. I've got to be back at the car in 27 minutes anyway before my feet implode". I'm struggling to imagine an "easy path" that isn't in fact a pavement anyway, so maybe these are only good for the weekday summer stroll to the bus stop. "For occasional use." Of course they are. One can't expect their hiking shoes to deliver a fair weather saunter day-in day-out, can they? Be reasonable. After a brief turn about the cul-de-sac most serious hiking footwear is going to need some downtime. I would, however, be interested to know what the recharge is on these things. Could I get away with ambling to the corner shop on alternate weekends in May and June? Perhaps a quick mosey to the park again in early September before I have to hang them up for the winter and start wearing Crocs...

They'll go nicely with my suit from the charity shop.

Either I'm getting old, or my eyes are deceiving me, or both....but they look more like regular trainers than hiking shoes

Exactly. For £8 what's not to like, you could even just get these and keep them in the boot of your car for the times when you need a change of footwear that you don't mind if they get dirty doing a job, or use as dog-walking shoes. I had a similar pair a few years back, I used them things like going to the park with my kids when I knew it might be a bit muddy, and after a while they became the ones that I'd wear if I was doing a bit of DIY and didn't mind if they got a drip of paint on, they served me well.

I am not wonderful, I am the most worthless person... trying to do little bit for the community that we live in. If we dont like/want any homeless to come and sit next/close to our home, then we must get out and do something for them... no matter how big or how little it is.

Took my order, confirmed for collection 09.54 and the cancelled 10.02....lol

I'm a 32" waist and took a medium, and they are pretty close-fitting. I don't need the belt, and in fact it's at its limit on me.

Do they have the deep pockets for surreptitious trouser-fumbling?

With all the hiking you'll soon fit into the medium :D

Hmm, I'm right on the limits of a medium but the large are oos.

Not as ideal as a bike!

They can say what they want in store, their policy is very clear: “ At Decathlon we pride ourselves on the quality of our products and our dedication to customer satisfaction. Exclusively for Decathlon card holders, we allow up to 365 days to return your items in the 2 following cases: - unwanted goods: unused and in their original packaging - if the product in use is not satisfactory for the intended sport practice” That’s not as good as it used to be but still pretty good.

What did they do, make you march up & down the shop?

Not really. Bought a heart rate monitor online and it stopped working within the month. I brought it back for a refund with invoice and they drilled me for 5 min on why it didn't work before they issued the refund. Its weird when they are the ones that sold the faulty item and drilled me on why it didn't work as if I'm the one they sold it to them...

Yes, but it is a bit of a squeeze at the corners. I ended up buying this one too - https://www.decathlon.co.uk/arpenaz-20l-hiking-backpack-black-grey-id_8330473.html edit: just noticed you said folder sorry. I was thinking of a spiral bound pad of paper when I replied..

Got one of these last time they were on offer and have to say they are fab. We travel with hand luggage backpacks only and pop these in and use them as small day bags for sightseeing etc. Very sturdy considering the price
