Pretty solid deal in current GPU market, It's a refurb from currys but I picked up one of these and it was brand new in original box with not a spec of dust. Don't forget 1% quidc… Read more

Ah its all out of stock! I think I can see why the last few went - a few listings have cropped up for: 'Gaming PC, HP OMEN 30L, Ryzen 7 3700X, 500GB NVMe, 16GB DDR4 3200MHz, NO GPU.' And then there are a few 5700 listings going for quite a bit of money on ebay! Shame I didn't get one in the end, but great deal OP!

Great deal this. I'm looking to sell my 3 y/o rig which has a 1080 in it...how does the GPU in this compare with a FE 1080? TIA.

Whoa, someone has bought two and then someone else bought 3 in the last hour! Last one left and no ebay voucher...

Took a good hour or two for windows to do about 5 updates and re-boots, then hp support assistant updated the firmware and wifi drivers for a couple more re-boots, installed the full radeon software for another reboot, un installed a few of the bloatware offers for vpn & dropbox and then all good with a quick system. if you have xbox gamepass ultimate, get a few games on, especially flight simulator :)

My box was a bit battered but the PC itself did look brand new. My HP warranty only runs until August 2021 though so it's obviously been sitting in a warehouse for a few months.

Feels like the best price I've seen on these for a long while. I bought a slightly better version of the 5700 xt for around £380 last summer so I don't think this isn't too much of… Read more

They did and they called it the EVO, it was still terrible - I think ASUS deserves more s*** for releasing a card with ‘military certification’ but not bothering to put any memory cooling and for putting what looks like a large cooler but it’s actually all plastic and fake. MSI at least connected the memory to the heatsink and the poorer performance is due to the compact size, whereas the ASUS is just flat out bad due to inept design.

ASUS did revise the card eventually, like XFX, where as MSI didn't even bother.

The award for the worst hands down goes to the ASUS TUF X3, it doesn't have any cooling on the GDDR6 at all, so it basically throttles if you look at it slightly funny. The MSI at least has a half-hearted, thrifty attempt at thermal pads - it's still pretty bad and I wish I hadn't bothered, but needs must...

Thanks for sharing your first post with us @Joe_Boud :)

Tomorrow im gonna bang my liquid dev 5700xt on Ebay, im just gonna serious see how much this baby makes. the gpu market is mad.

Yeah exactly. This card will last more than two years anyway, certainly for my light use anyway. I’ve got the PS5 for raytracing etc

To be honest, I been looking at 5700xt for some time and I throught this would help some one out. People who will wait for a better price should. People who think this is outrages shold also wait... I on the other hand wanted a decent card to play some games now that I'm stuck at home and this if I get it would serve me fine for couple of years .

People forget too quickly, but if you need or want, then there isn't much you can do

I got an order in yesterday. Didn’t post it because I thought I’d get flamed (and not in the good “heat” way!). I even got it on the pay monthly five month thing so I think overall that’s a good deal. I just hope they get stock soon.

I was in for one of these cards on the recent pcworld deal at £330 to replace my Vega 56 ( undervolted and memory clocked) Then I realized that I was only going to gain about 15%. I changed my mind , I’m waiting for the current gen cards to become widely available and hope in 6 months to get a deal.

Never miss a 'Radeon RX 5700' deal again!

I know it is RDNA1, I know the drivers are not the best (to say the least), but this model along with the Red Devil are considered top of the line if you decide to buy a 5700xt. C… Read more

Sorry I was referring to the screenshot I posted of the noise to thermals

Yes cause that is temp in C so the lower the temp the better

Didnt really get that. The chart shows that the Gigabyte one has thermals in the middle of the pack. Nitro+, Red Devil, Taichi X (quiet BIOS), MSI Gaming X and Sapphire Pulse have better thermal performance that the Gigabyte one and at the same time they are running on higher power setting than the Gigabyte one. Only the Evoke, THICC and Taichi (performance BIOS) have worse performance but bear in mind the Gigabyte is the only card which runs at 190W (excluding the reference). If you listen to Steve you will see that he mentions that the Giga one is the absolute average on everything and given a correct price he will go for it but it is doesnt have the best thermals. Middle of the pack at best.

The chart shows the thermals for the nitro + directly below the gigabyte card, with the red devil way below.

Good price for one of the best AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT cards available. Still great card for anyone gaming on 1080p who doesn't need the latest and greatest.

I haven't closed the case side panel yet so I doubt it has something to do with the case temps. I've installed all the latest drivers. Maybe it's the 3700x that's making full use of the card now, because I had a significantly less powerful 4690k in it previously, I don't know. I'll download some games and see what the load temp go up to.

If you've changed your motherboard it might be something as simple as your case fans running a bit slower. Check your fan curves in BIOS. Also check that you've got the latest drivers installed. Wouldn't worry about 45° temps though, the fans don't kick in until it hits 50, and it doesn't start throttling til something daft like 105. This card runs hot!

I’m running an X570 board with a 3900X and it idles around the 55 mark for me. Not overly concerned, it’s fans kick in when I’m gaming and aren’t terribly noisy.

Thanks. I got the same temps on my 4690k / Z97 motherboard setup, but yesterday I upgraded my CPU / Mobo to 3700x / Prime x470-pro and the GPU idle temp hovers around 45c. Seems like something is constantly using the GPU in the background.

I tend to get 35ish idle, max 70 under prolonged, heavy loads
