My 4 year old bought this inadvertently through my xbox live account for 54 quid. I had to beg them to cancel it. Good story.

Can anyone vouch for the condition of games from boomerang? Always been a bit wary of ex-rentals as you have no idea how many people have touched the game or what condition it will be in.

Keep them coming mixi. Voted hot as usual.

No mate, but thanks for the heads up :D

Thats pretty much what I'm prepared to pay for Recore, thanks OP.

Just bought this the other week and really impressed with it for the price. Good reviews too. It’s worth noting with music magpie that their eBay things aren’t always in stock. The listings are more like place holders and they check stock when ordered as I’ve had quite a few things cancelled on eBay.

Thanks, I thought so :)

According to a quick Google search...... Yes your right (y)

I think with ReCore you get as part of an update the upgrade to the "Definitive Edition" but I could be wrong.

I don't care about "these days". "These days" and the future are getting worse.

I understand that but the icons are now embedded into the game these days no matter which version you buy. People will start to realise that if/when the 360/PS3 servers get switched off in a couple of years from now. Games that were released on disc broken to buggery like this one was simply won't work anymore.

Maybe for you. In that case I'm traditionally and I will prefer game discs much better than some downloaded icons.

Can't say I've ever had a ball opening a DVD case tbh but whatever floats your boat. Also worth pointing out that your disc becomes just as useless as a download as soon as the update servers are switched off, especially for a game like this that has changed pretty considerably since the disc versions were made. In the days of huge patches, disc installs aren't much faster either. You can play offline with a download version as well. Basically what I'm trying to say here is that everything you just wrote was nonsense.

Yes. You can touch it, you can have a fun from unboxing, you can feel that smell of new thing, you can just HAVE IT. Not only download and looking on pixels from the icon on the screen. What if the game won't be available to download? What if you doesn't have Internet connection and the game requires that (even if it's single player)? What if you would like to buy in better price? What is better? Download 100 GB or instal a game from the disc and download half of it? Of course the 2nd option. With the disc you can play offline. Disc are going to be cheaper faster than digitals. And there are collectors as well. I like to collect my games. They look so nice on the shelf. But if someone is for example 15 so that person won't potentially understand this.

Is the purchase a download or a disc?

thanks John,i was going at least try it free for 10hours before deciding to buy it,but you confirmed my not even try it for

I'd say Mad Max was much better, much bigger world and much more variety in the skills which Mad Max offers for both your character and the car. I went into Recore with low expectations from feedback I'd read but I'd enjoyed the 30 minute taster however as many pointed out, the game goes downhill quickly and I gave up before I finished the game. Progression of your character and weapon is far too simple, the basic gameplay mechanic is the same throughout the game for combat and just doesn't work at all well for many big enemies in close combat which you're frequently forced into. The progression of your companion bot is far too messy and a big annoyance is that while you unlock skills through your companion bots to enable you to get access to areas you couldn't before similar to many other games, you can only equip certain skills with you at a time despite the fact you don't know what skills you may need. The exploration is pretty messy as the game quickly kills you if you go somewhere you're not supposed to, you get a timer but depending on how you jumped that timer can quickly expire and it's really sloppy game design in a game you're meant to explore not to visually mark out or block where you're not meant to be. Bugs wise, I've had quite a few graphical and sound glitches on my PC and some gameplay ones as well such as objectives and markers getting stuck even though they've been done although not enough to cause any significant issues with the game. John

Its a new IP, not 4th or 9th in the series. Its a good game and should of gotten more love.

Thanks for the input.

I bought it for £15 knowing it generally hadn't been received well but had enjoyed the half hour trial and thought it was my thing however I've been really disappointed with it. It's not a bad game but there's a lot of frustrations with it, the game feels good to start with but it quickly falls apart - the targetting/shooting system completely falls apart when faced with many enemies at close range (which you're forced to do repeatedly later on), the exploring concept is badly implemented (rather than block you off, you just get killed if you stray into an area you're not meant to go into) and the general progression is messy, it's super simple for your character and it's far too complex and badly thought out for your companion bot. In most games you unlock more skills progressively and you keep them all but with Recore you can only choose to take two skills with you at a time and if you reach a point that needs a different skill you have to go all the way back to your base, change the skill then work your way back to where you were. I eventually gave up on the game as I was finding the many flaws to be really frustrating and couldn't recommend it. John

It's got it's moments. It's not really my kind of game, but if you like platformer / explorer type games you might like it. There's some good gun combat, and the platforming is firm but fair - you never feel cheated if you miss a jump. AI is alright (now they've fixed it), load times are sorted now. If you like games like that, it's deffo worth 15quid.

Heard its rubbish though? Any opinion of this game anyone?
