All Ricoh Discounts, Offers and Sale - December 2018
Very limited stock. Nothing in Aberdeen, Edinburgh, Newcastle or South London where I can get it collected. Managed to reserve one in Galashiels in the Scottish Borders but await the usual call to say they don't actually have the stock. Thanks for posting though, hope I get one as would be fun to try out.
Has Amazon price matched this yet?
Takes good photos (compared to its immediate competitors) at 5376 x 2688, but it's not great for videos, so only a good buy if you want to take stills. 360 cameras have a lot of limitations, not least the small lenses and the fact that the image will be sharper in the two directions the cameras are pointing, and softer towards where the edges are pointing, but all (2 lens) 360 cameras have these limitations. The quality is like a decent-ish phone camera.
Looks interesting. But is it any good? Seems very low res.
I use it with my iPhone 6plus and my wife’s iPhone 6.
Yeah it works well for the tv and my humax freesat box wish I could link it with my roku now tv box as that's owned by sky so I can truly only use one remote
Been using one of these for a while, it works my TV and Sat box, no switching needed due to that little button under the mode button. Worked well with Sky, now works Humax Freesat recorder very well. The buttons do have a positive click but not annoyingly loud as some can be.
You've reached over a thousand heats Celebrate the store specific offers!!!
A thousand degrees ? Sheesh ..
Thanks for the kind words guys. These are fairly heavily post processed in Lightroom. I have a one click user preset that adds the level of grain I like and a few other tweaks. I only shoot RAW and never use the in camera JPEG effects. I prefer messing around with them myself, the GR can create some beautiful and sharp photos but I often boost saturation and lift shadow detail etc. It has 3 user preset positions on the top dial: I have 1 set for street stuff, one for macro and one for landscape (3 shots, +1 and -1 exposure to HDR later) although the dynamic range from the GR is so good (for a compact) that the HDR effect can be done from one shot more times than not. If anyone has any questions I’d be happy to help if I can. Enjoy your GR’s ;)
Yep +1 to this - very impressive photos @locktheworldout @windta1ker once you've given your camera a trial run let us know how you got on! I'll probably get out with mine this weekend and see what's about :)
Got a lot of time for that first image...very nice (highfive) is that straight out the camera? Thinking about shooting raw + b&w jpeg, been hearing some nice comments with regards to the GR processing the b&w images. So looking forward to getting out and about!
I don't think I could live with the adapter and hood on due to the extra size. The APS-C sensor in a slim pocket friendly magnesium body means it's ultra-portable, adding the width of the hood etc would be a real shame to me. I think I'd rather deal with dust if I'm unlucky enough to get it.
I read the same about the buttons, and also the microphone holes either side of the lens. I use black tape to cover the white GR wording on the front and over the 2 holes - this gives full stealth mode and hopefully a bit more protection against dust. To be honest it's luck as virtually all cameras with retractable lens mechanisms can suck in dust. I read it's something to do with Ricoh stretching a circular gasket into a rectangular shape. I love this Ninja-mode camera, it means I can get close for this type of shot, and snap focus means the camera doesn't try to focus on the hand in the last picture, but stays on the subject.
Waited for this printer to arrive, no sign of it. Now told i will be getting a refund! Great (annoyed)
Can anyone help guide me how to install it? I don't have a CD Drive, and downloading the drivers off of their site is hopeless.
Thank you, i am hoping it arrives this week. Had nothing as of yet.
The one I ordered on Friday has apparently been delivered to my reception 10 minutes ago
Has anyone received theirs yet? I am still waiting, not sure what the expected delivery date was?
The newer Gear camera is compatible with iphone and android, I haven't researched the samsung camera in a while, I went for the Theta in the end and have been using it for a couple of years
Do you have a samsung phone, you need one for the Gear 360
Is this worth £60 over the Gear VR?
Extra 10% off for those with a student Prime account, making it £93.99, even more tempted at that price!
One of the best of its kind. Highly rated.
it's got 19gb. still not massive, but better than 8gb
Yeah I guess, picked this up more for a video camera - thought it had more onboard memory or SDHC. Turns out you can take it apart and upgrade the store, but that's a warenty voiding action
Yes true but you can easily copy from the camera to your phone so can back up and then wipe the camera to keep shooting
Man it only has 8gig of memory onboard :(
No I just added to the basket the same as others have. I added another to see if it did it again but it showed as £170
The photo quality hasn't improved much between the two. Their focus was much more on video in this version. Honestly it's not worth the upgrade at all. The video review linked about the guy still uses the camera on a really well lit beach, hardly a real world test. I found the biggest struggle in both the theta s and V was any drop in lighting just cause the photo quality to become terrible. Video was just awful no matter what on the S.
Anyone else think this was a Scientology thetan meter reader?
I have the normal theta S, use it once in a while but photo quality is still poor really. Is the V any better? I don't use video, just interested in stills.
posted 7 mins ago and deal gone - Hot but not for long,....Well its still HOT... I forgot to add the promo code. My bad! ;)
Happened to me at Blackpool Clifton. Manager said a guy walked up to the counter earlier with a basket piled high. Not like they care, a sale is a sale even if it does annoy other customers and waste their time and money.
Fyi for some - i picked up south park and the code for the stick of truth still worked fine even though it was scheduled to expire by now.
I assume the "new" refers to "new offers" from previous deals. Which these are not " new deals"
They look new or do Tesco now sell second hand games?!
I managed to pick up south park for the ps4. It was in the actual case already.
Seems to be discontinued. Expire?
No, it doesn't support google print.
does this do google print
"Black NON-OEM Compatible Toner" on Ebay - just been reduced to £16.23: https://www.ebay.co.uk/i/192107269002
"you're right bro, sorry i doubted you..oh masterful one"
why unlikely? https://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/ricoh-sp112su-multi-function-a4-mono-laser-printer-2999-delivered-ebuyer-2270775
A laser printer with scanner for £30? Unlikely.
Toner carts £27-£30 on Amazon (clones)
These have gone up. Remember getting one with a built in scanner for £30
The IP address can be found on your router's config webpage (eg http://192.168.1.1) so you may not need to install the printer via usb first.
Very pleased with the printer - thanks OP Did struggle with the wifi a bit. If you have installed with the USB, which you do to initially get the IP address and get driver installed, you then have to un-install and then re-install using the IP address Instructions below are from a question on Amazon reviews and worked for me.......good luck! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Install the Driver and Smart Organising Monitor (SOM) from the CD ( Use Quick USB Install option), as Kermorvan says. (Follow the on screen instructions - Don't plug the USB in until told). When done, and keeping the printer On and the USB cable connected, open the SOM (- easy way is to open a page in Wordpad etc, select Print, Preferences, and click SOM button which you should now find there under the Ricoh tab.) In SOM, click User Tools, Printer Configuration, and enter the access code in the box (Admin) - its case sensitive. Select the Wireless tab, and enter your Router info on the right hand side (SSID name, Authentication Mode (WPA on mine), Encryption Type (TKIP on mine), and WPA Passphrase, then OK. The printer should then be connected to your Router. ( I did it this way beacuse clicking the WPS button as Kermorvan suggests to connect automatically didn't work for me...) Click the Configuration Page tab to print out and note the TCP/Ip address of the printer ( should be 192.168.1.something, or similar). Disconnect the USB cable, and close the SOM. Then follow the last two paragraphs of Kernovan's notes again to get the computer to recognise the printer - ie uninstall the USB install of the printer in Settings, and then re-install it there (Add New Printer). You will need the IP address to do this ( the Port number should be filled automatically when you enter the IP address, and is the same set of numbers.). You may need to re-select the Driver - I did - click the manufacturer name and select the model - it should ask whether to use the installed driver ( you installed it at the beginning) - so say Yes. It should then offer to print a test page, and finish, and then work ! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- On a completely different matter - it looks like the page to register your warranty (within 14 days) is here https://www.ricoh.co.uk/support/register-warranty/index.html Unfortunately it no longer lists this printer - at least not that I can see.....
Took me 10 minutes to unbox and connect via wi-fi. Reserved the IP on the router before creating a new TCP/IP port on my laptop with the reserved address, then installed the latest driver that I got from Ricoh website. Well pleased with it.
Thanks op, ordered
Beware this is the Theta SC and not the Theta S as stated in the title.
Some comments round here advising digital cropping as a solution to the limitations of this camera. IMHO this should be a last resort, not a go to solution.
There's options for 28, 35 and 50mm equivalents. As I said if you're coming from a phone camera and want something better quality for everyday snaps this is perfect and if you want you can crop and upload to Facebook or wherever with no issues. Or alternatively go full on Cartier-Bresson and zoom with your feet and wait half an hour for the perfect moment.
Cropping the image would provide a comparable quality to a zoom lens assuming the fixed lens in this camera is very good, unless you pay allot for a high Quality zoom lens Clearly this isn't the camera to get 200mm shots with but cropping x2 or even x3 should still provide a very good quality image.
Ooo....did you say digital zoom? Just don't. The only zooming you'll be doing with this camera is with your feet. Unless you already know a fair bit about photography I would advise staying well clear of this camera.
Great price but need wireless these days.
Missed that, wonder why the original post item was free delivery?
Extra £8 I think. £3 Delivery charge.
Sort of. I have this one and getting wireless to work is a knightmare. I gave up. It could be a faulty unit but google suggests it’s common
For an extra £5 this has wireless connection https://www.box.co.uk/Ricoh-SP-213w-Wireless-A4-Mono-Laser-Pri_1743121.html 1% from TCB & Quidco plus £2.50 extra till midnight today
Good brand and build quality but no image stabilization and a not so good Review here.
I haven't used the 4K function (nothing to play it back on) but the 1080 @ 60fps is brilliant, much better than the GoPro equivalent. I liked the wide angle as it was catching stuff when I was diving that I hadn't noticed...
It's the same camera as olympus-tg-tracker-action-cam. I had it and had to send it back as the 4k was a joke. Also the wide angle was a bit extreme even for an action cam.
Has anyone had one delivered? Edit: Mine have been dispatched. I ordered two different Ricoh 3-in-1 models costing £56 delivered for the pair.
dammit, oos :(
Worth a punt at that price
Seen this before....I think they have a deal with couriers upto a certain weight ( especially the spend £50 for free shipping ) Falls over a bit sometimes as a "free next day" item with something else gets put on 5 day saver...then the courier ships it 12 hour 4 days later...all a bit weird
