There's something about scooters which instantly appeals. Simple, convenient and – above all, great fun to use. These vehicles are a must-have for adults and kids alike. Scooters come in a wide range of styles, with stunt models, 3-wheelers, classic kick scooters, models for toddlers, and electric beasts. But all can be found for less at the hotukdeals scooter listings.

https://www.smythstoys.com/uk/en-gb/outdoor/scooters/stunt-scooters/madd-gear-carve-elite-stunt-scooter-gold-black/p/188592 Went to local Smyths toy shop with my 10 year old and we eventually agreed on this one. Very sturdy. He uses it at the local skate park so it's been well tested, scraped and abused and it's still holding up well.

If you want to spend a bit more then I would recommend this. They will not grow out of these as suitable for adults too. https://www.micro-scooters.co.uk/micro-scooter-white.html?gclid=EAIaIQobChMI7piE0InR8AIV7hkGAB06Bg2wEAQYASABEgKKq_D_BwE

I’m after adult scooter for daily commute on fairly uneven/bumpy pavement. I’m not worried about it being extremely light but rather comfortable and fast. Any recommendations? Budg… Read more

Check the usual second hand apps and sites. You’ll get a bargain. People get them ride them a few times and forget about them. Then put them up for sale. If you want a new one Decathlon has a decent range. You can try them all out in store once they reopen or buy online.

Maybe want one with some suspension then. Ours feel most bumps and lumps.

How does it handle vibrations? My pavement is tarmac-like but not very smooth so need something that won’t transfer vibrations into handles.

He has a bike. It's not always convenient to take that with us!

Doug_

How about a bike ride instead?

Oh wow, those look neat and they have brakes! Thank you so much! We went for a 4 mile walk today and his hands went numb from all the vibrations on the one he has, these look just the ticket.

Also recommend Decathlon Got this one for 9 year old. It has a very smooth ride, suspension, hand brake and slightly bigger wheels makes the ride so much better

cathal76

We went for this one for our 9 year old great reviews and quality service

There’s one in Smyths for 59.99, white and blue. Very well made bigger wheels and the smallest settings are just right for my tall 7 year old

Big_Rik

Decathlon ones are pretty good, bigger type wheels on them. My 9 year old daughter used to go through Halfords and argos ones all the time. Decathlon ones have lasted well

Its better to rent because you can use rented ones in public places but not owned ones

PaulandPam

If the 'street' is on private property and actually privately owned by yourself then yes it is legal.

Like in Wall-E

redzer223

He will only be using it within our streets. Its private property, is this legal ?

EndlessWaves

Better to wait a few more months until a final decision is made on legalising them for use on public roads, you don't know what the requirements will be.
