The warranty support used to be actually be alright when they ran customer service for the UK through their American call center, it's gone down hill ever since they moved to a UK team.
Shark warranty as with most warranties are not worth the claims they make. It's always their final decision.

Mines arrived today and battery still charging but it seems really good quality. I did notice a large crease in the flexible tube of the floor unit which weakens it so phoned customer services, straight through and sent them photo and new floor unit being sent out. No issues and don't need to send faulty one back.
